Daniel Gengler I kept wondering why the doll in the movie was completely different from the "Raggedy Ann" doll in the museum. Then I realized it can be explained in one word: "Hollywood."

I think it had something to do with the likeness of the Raggedy Ann doll. I don't think the copyright for the doll had expired at the time so they would to have to liscense it at the time the first Conjuring was made. Correct me if I am wrong

@@FernandoHernandez-vo3oo I think you're right. I think the Raggedy Ann doll is copyrighted and I don't think the owners would want the doll associated with a horror film. I had one growing up and I can imagine if they actually put it in the film it would lose its innocence and ability to be a child's toy. It's all about image. They still could have used a soft, cotton doll though.

I remember when I was young my grandmother had a copy of the painting with the crying boy in here house. For years it seemed weird having a painting like this in our home. I can still remember to this day the feeling I had when I discovered that it was supposedly cursed, it felt like we had something in the house that it did not belong there, that it had a hidden story of its own. There was never an accident with fire that it mysteriously linked to the painting. After some time the frame broke so we had to replace it, but somewhere in the process we lost the painting of the little boy.

We used to have a Barney doll like the kind with gears and stuff and it said lines too, it was creepy as shit and scared like every person in our house including my parents, just made everyone super un easy, at one point the gears in the toy got messed up or something so they make clicking motor noises on their own and bareny would mumble his lines i forget what they were on his own too. We took that nightmare and tossed it off the road far away from anything lol.. closest thing to Annabel i ever experienced

OMG, the crying boy painting is unbelievable, It's very common here in Egypt, a lot of people have this portrait in their houses, you can find it on stamps, mail posts, decoration shop...My friend has it on his home walls, nothing happened, this proves that we are the one who creates legends and myths, not all of it are fake, but most of it, I really laughed so hard after watching such painting 😂😂😂😂😂

I saw the dybbuk box and the crying boy at Zak Baggins Haunted museum in Las Vegas.... If you get a chance, i highly recommend visiting! He also has Peggy the doll, and Dr. Kevorkian's death van, Ed Gein's cauldron, and a really cool Serial Killer room. And so much more.... I had to sign a release form that if i was injured or killed inside, that i wouldn't sue them!

I remember seeing the Crying Boy painting before, and other ones made by the same artist, like the Crying Girl. According to a channel on my TV, (TVChile, the episode of the painting aired a week ago) a person said when the painting of the Crying Boy and Crying Girl's painting are hung together, for some reason, the place that the both paintings are hung, doesn't burn because the girl is "giving company" to the boy.

I believe MindChop explained that the reason "The Crying Boy" is immune to fire is because it had a fire-retardant in its paint so that it survived every fire it suffered. I can't explain the curse.

yoooooo my school actually has one of the crying boy paintings, and it is so true. We hung it up once, but immediately took it back down as wierd stuff happened, such as light flickering when it was hung up, then it would stop when it was taken down. We never put it up again.

I go to Myrtles Plantation every year with my husband for our anniversary. It’s become tradition to stay in the Woodruff room. I’ve caught photos of orbs, but have never heard or witnessed anything. The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO from the Shining was another story. Spent our honeymoon there!

Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures is the one who owns the Dybbuk box now. He keeps it in his paranormal museum. TMZ did an interview with him on how he acquired it. I think he's a suitable owner tho. He even has guests who are brave enough to want to see it sign a waver and gives extreme caution to anyone who is curious of it.

My theory of Ötzi’s Curse: When Ötzi was recovered, the pain and rage that was trapped in the ice with him, from his murder, was released. And we probably all know what happens when such energy is released, especially if it was ‘distilled’ for more than 5000 years.
