In 28 weeks later- I've always wanted to know if she knew that Don would get infected when he kisses her (so she let's him) her revenge for him running away and leaving her and the boy to be attacked by the infected? Sadly later films show that the Red Queen’s behaviour protocols were always going to lead to such a situation. The sister program, the White Queen stated that RQ’s programming meant she was never going to let them leave the Hive, they were part of her quarantine the moment they entered. As Alice concludes, “Kill a few, save a lot” The RQ’s programming was essentially “Protect the mainframe” (herself) and “Keep the Hive on lockdown” when the strike team threatened to fry the RQ’s programming, she acted on the self preservation protocols she had. When they tried to leave, she acted on the second protocol.

I'll give a pass on Don's stupidity (love/betrayal/guilt/heartbreak/whatever - he's a civilian who's morally destroyed and conflicted a.k.a not thinking straight). What doesn't get a pass is the army. Seriously, how were they even able to organize the repopulation London when they're that mentally limited. The *LAST* infected person in the freaking country, and they place her *in the relocation zone WITHOUT* proper monitoring. If we're going by: "they were planning to do tests with her". Then do the damn tests! It was like literally plot convenience of "we need her here for plot reasons that we're not gonna go into". Other army blunders that are beyond shocking: Hawkeye letting the kids slip out while London is technically under military rule. Shoot the little shits. They're not toddlers, they clearly witnessed the devastation of people mauling people. To their knowledge they lost their mom to it. Bullet between the eyes, at least make it quick. And also locking down everyone in a single room, *again unguarded!*

I was worried 28 Days Later was gonna be ignored again, everyone always complains about the sequel when the original has an even dumber character cause the outbreak. Like, bro. It's a specialist, you just wanted to free the monkey. Monkey MAD and obviously diseased. You sure about this? At least with Weeks Later you could argue that he thought his wife was immune and he was so blinded by guilt and love for his wife he left to die, it's understandable you'd lose your head for a minute that way. Plus, he wasn't privy to the dual timeline the audience was. I actually feel sorry for the guy.

The first one is actually pretty compelling. If you listen to Matt when he's talking to Alice after killing his sister, he mentions "there's hundreds of us" as he was apart of the Resistance, though they really wouldn't come into play in the later films, their very existence and the fight against Umbrella was established through just one line. It's also a neat spin, instead of from the perspective of STARS, actually starting off with the perspective of the USS team really cements the conspiracy that shrouds the company, as the team were equally surprised to uncover the company's bioweapons manufacturing, meaning Umbrella even kept their best assets out of the loop, really making them a more sadistic company than the original itself. You'll notice plenty of parallels, Wesker's betrayal is still there instead through Spence. Ada's mystique persona, Jill's independence, and Claire's humanity are all also an amalgamation of Alice.

@@bigdikbubls mutually agreed. It should have played out with Jill the literal heart Valentine taking initiative of the Resistance when she picked Alice up at the Chicago facility. Essentially Jill, Claire, and Chris should have taken on the Umbrella Corporation, at every front as they always have, while Alice with her abilities should have taken on Wesler and Isaacs solely. But again, the franchise was used to boost Milla Jovovich's star power, thus why none of the supporting actors were ever fleshed out with their own plotlines, or subplots. Think Avengers or Pirates of the Caribbean where multiple stars still recieved their own plot lines among the main plot.

He left her surrounded by zombies, without any way to escape, and he KNEW she would not make it out without being bit. He was a scientist himself. He knew what an asymptomatic infection is. No security around her? Gather all survivors in a large room with glass doors and no guards in case of an outbreak? Howzabout they would have given each household a few blunt weapons with the instruction in case of an outbreak to barricade in their own house. Everyone running in the streets would be shot, infected or not, so stand and fight, or run and die. Now the entire group could be bitten in one room without any space inbetween to stop the contamination. If they were in their own homes, the zombies would have to break into each house separately, loose one or two, and then infect three or four at most, while some might even defend their homes with success. Also making people put on more clothes during an outbreak can decrease the infection speed. Bitten in the sleeve of my leather jacket, well sorry mr zombie, I will not turn, but I will hit you in the head with a hammer for your effort.

That he KNEW she would not make it out without being bit and yet, up until that exact point in the movie where he finds his wife, the common belief, meaning that he KNEW, was that if someone is bitten then they turn into those kinds of zombies almost immediately. There was no doubt and certainly no one even remotely considered the idea that someone bitten would be a carrier but not show any symptoms. The opening credits even stated that the infected had died of starvation by the time they were allowing people back into the country which was many weeks later after the outbreak. That goes to the thought that if she was infected then she would have died before the kids found her hiding at their house, not hiding and survivng. Seriously, did you even watch the movie or did you figure you had an argument so long as you ignore the key details. You basically put a screen door on the side of a submarine and said it would stay shut under water, never mind all the water pouring in.

We have seen them multiple times feeding on a body that no longer/ not yet moved. She was surrounded by zombies, and those chasing her husband would likely return after he got away, lured by the sounds of the fight, so there would be dozens, all wanting a snack... Yet she did not even have visible scars, (Edit) besides that one bitemark I specifically mentioned in my second line... There, problem fixed. The kiss in 28 weeks later was not the worse. Due to the fact they knew 1) who she was (i.e. who she was related to) and 2) how dangerous the disease was, there should have been a lock out that prevented ANYONE in without going though the most secure regiment ever. Someone allowed him to just walk in and kiss her. Resident evil. Most people do not realize the movies had been planned all along. Many people assume that it was retconned, but there are too many things that only make sense if it was planned from the beginning. For example, Spence was a clone, programmed to release the virus. The memories of Alice talking to the sister about getting the information out was also programmed into the clones. Reopening the hive sped up the infection, but in an early scene one of the people saw where an animal had got through the sewer so they would have caused it anyway.

I couldn't agree more. Don went from being a man of survival to a man of stupidity kissing his wife Alice Harris (though I don't blame Don for leaving his wife to begin with) but there were dumber parts that made me facepalm but still loved 28 Weeks Later either way but wished it was handled in a smarter way like more security in and outside of District One (Isle of Dogs) so that Tammy and Andy doesn't "easily" get out into the deserted London, give it another 6 more months or a year and a half before repopulation and sanitation of London because of Banded Survivors, Rabid Animals contracting the virus, and LASTLY, DO NOT give a survivor like Don backstage access to Level 5 Biological stuff without Armed Guards!!! Probably would've prevented the Second Outbreak and all extinction of Europe and neighboring countries! P.S.: I don't dislike 28 Days or 28 Weeks Later, to this day in my opinion I believe both of these movies have aged like fine wine but there could've been some parts of the movie that could've prevented the outbreak from happening but who am I kidding, it's a zombie movie so something dumb, idiotic, and moronic is going to cause humanity to go extinct eventually. In both 28 Days and 28 Weeks Later, the stupidest decision of all was to not pay more for security!! In both scenarios, the scientists knew what was at stake, and yet people seemed to easily breeze into the rooms with the infected (whether they be people or chimps). There should have been several layers of security (steel doors/bullet-proof glass and security people) to make it into those rooms. Also, while this didn't cause the outbreak, in Train to Busan once they reach the station with the soldiers, it would have made far more sense for one person to just slowly and quietly walk down the stairs to check on things, rather than people trapping themselves on downward escalators with no place to escape to. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the film - it's by far my favourite zombie movie and one of my all-time favourite horror flicks!

Isn’t the main actress getting there in age? She’d be too old for anymore action scenes, even with a stunt double.

"28 Weeks later" sounds like it's the fault of the army to not put security and security cameras at the infected wive and stopping the husband from getting inside

That or give complete access to the entire facility to the husband who left his wife to die. I mean I know he's the groundskeeper, but surely the military should've known better than to give complete clearance to a civilian.

Honestly I thought him kissing his infected wife which posses the biggest threat for another outbreak and was just put in a room without a single freaking guard would be much higher. After watching the scene I felt like my brain got just damaged by the pure stupidity
