ME TOO!! One of my top 20 movies of all time, actually. I went to see it in the theater in California, but I don't think many people did. I bought it on VHS and then on DVD, and watch it when I need a pick-me-up. Perfect movie!

I read somewhere that Tara played the same role of Fran in the original small production when Baz wrote it while they were at NIDA. He later expanded the play for the fully movie. Baz did understand about the Ballroom studio and competing scene

@@micheledix2616 Yes, Tara was Fran in the original stage production. When casting for the movie, the producers wanted to go with a professional dancer (I believe the woman who plays Tina Sparkle was their pick?) and Baz fought for her and basically said, let her go through the whole audition process and if she makes it will you consider her?

I loved Only You so much, discovered that during our first lockdown in this pandemic and loved it, really made me laugh and got me in a good mood

@@sarizonana My sister and I love this movie. I saw the DVD in the five dollar bin at Big Lots and nearly had a meltdown, I was so excited. I got two copies and gave her one.

Bonnie Hunt is brilliant in everything I have seen her in.

It's definitely a classic, it was on the Leaving Cert (Final School Exams) English paper in Ireland for a while.

I didn't study it but my younger brother did and he's hilarious to watch it with he comes out with lines like "see that bit where you hear the train pull away, that represents Scott changing as a person"

It’s one of our eldest daughter’s favourite films and we like it too.

I think it came up twice during my school years for assignments, that and Muriel’s wedding. Definitely well known and loved in Australia, in fact my friends and I were talking about it just this week.

And because you're the center of the universe, you loving these movies makes them automatically classics

I love the little things in this movie. Like when she gets excited because he sent her a ham because she’s from Virginia, and when she bust out in French during the state dinner.

Yes! I clicked because of the "Strictly Ballroom" thumbnail, but I was thinking "Crossing Delancey" had better be on this list! I have seen this more than thirty times.

Eeeeek it was on Netflix many years ago when they first started their streaming service. I love it.

I love this movie! Walking across Delancy St. is on my bucket list of things to do/places to go.

I was a guest at the Premiere of the Brisbane Qld Australia viewing of Strictly Ballroom ( my daughter & now son in law's Coaches who were retired Champions performed a beautiful Rumba in demonstration) Baz gave a small talk on how he came to originally write Strictly Ballroom for a study piece while he was at NIDA ( Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art where many of Australia's well known & Internationally known Actors attended). He said Tara Morise was in that first originally very small piece too ( I am sure he said she played Fran in that too) . He explained that he knew the Ballroom Competition scene VERY well as he had been around it since a child . The Movie was not shown at a large theatre but at a small independent theatre also. AND WAS A WONDERFUL experience. Just love Strictly Ballroom have it on VHS tape which sadly I cannot play anymore as my machine completely became irreparable. 😪

And the song *"This Very Moment"* by KC & JoJo is THE most amazing song. *Deliver Us From Eva* has always been one of my favorite movies. Ms.Mojo is getting better at adding a token Black film. I hope they broaden their horizons more.

I once saw at a Brisbane comp a lady competitor's dangling sparkly earring accidentally get caught in another lady competitors floating arm wing piece( it was the fashion in the early 90's). The pierced earring ripped out of her ear , blood everywhere , all over her beautiful dress, but she didn't stop the couple finished the set, bowed left the floor. She went off cleaned up, removed the other earring patched up her torn earlobe with a plaster, changed into another gown and was ready for the next round and went on and kept competing and If I remember they took out a place. Now that is dedication to one's sport

Kate and Leopold and Maid in Manhattan and 27;Dresses, yes to all of these! I really love Beautician and the Beast too, it was very The Nanny meets Sound of Music and the cast was great! 🙌♥️🎥

Love 'Return to Me' - what a sweet sweet film that focuses on real love and not just lust and passion.

omg I just watched that one with my dorm mates last night. I love how we get to see what love is like for the older generations.

It won 3 Academy Awards... it's certainly *not* under-rated! And it's fairly common cable movie channel fare.

I trick straight dudes into watching it with me because I just say "it's a Nicholas Cage movie." Then they get confused, because it's really not a Nicholas Cage movie, he's just in it.

I love that movie and it technically is a rom com, but I always thought the main aspect was his relationships with the ghosts and completing their unfinished business. It just so happened that in helping them the lead learned how to help himself and his relationship. I always thought the love story was an aspect of the movie, but it wasn't the heart of the movie. Pardon the pun.

RDJ was so good in rom-coms in the 80s/90s. Only You, Heart & Souls, and Chances Are were all great!

Great movie

I first saw it in a small theater...I had to walk out for a bit because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. While the women characters weren't terribly well written (I still mentally refer to the one actress as "duckface" anytime I see her) it's still one of my favorite movies.

She's so good in everything she's in.

I remember fever pitch, too. The riders had to change the ending because of what happened during the Red Sox playoff run and ultimately winning the World Series!

@@nikkiclark2574 I’m not denying that, just like I’m not denying the common factor: both films had real life winning outcomes-Arsenal won the football league championship two to nothing, while the Farrelly brothers did some rewrites and even had the two stars Jimmy Fallon and drew Barrymore in St. Louis to see the Red Sox win the World Series!

@@derickennedy6278 I know that both films had real life events and as an arsenal fan I know they won the division 1 league in 1989 with Michael Thomas scoring the winning goal I was only stating that in my opinion the British version is better

Heart and Souls with Robert Downey Jr and Elizabeth Shue deserves to be on this list too. Crossing Delaney is a well deserved inclusion.
