I think the "smart and beautiful babies" one should have been no. 1 instead of 2. That line was the whole reason I watched that show. I kept seeing that scene when they would show the promo for the pilot episode, so of course I had to tune in to watch.

I'll admit, I do like when Howard bragged about having sex and Penny asked if his right hand was calling him but my favorite is when Penny and Leonard talked about getting a table, which Sheldon was against and Leonard translated it as, "Waa! Waa! I don't want a table!"

It's sad there's no mention of the interaction with Sheldon and Amy in the Comic Book store? Amy questions Sheldon's vice for Comics, and he responds back about Amy's choice of learning Harp music being a tad more lame than Comics. Something about Comics being, in their purest state, a story of sequential art not unlike a 10,000 year old Neanderthal Cave Painting?

The shade that the characters throw at one another is what makes this show so entertaining to watch. I constantly mock my friends and relatives irl so I relate to that. By the way, I would have put Amy's theoretical sex life 1st, given the audience's reaction to it.

By far I think the 'theoretical sex life' joke was the best. I nearly died when I heard that. A close second is when Sheldon is trying to make an authentic little home on the prairie meal for Amy. Penny asks if the sex with also be authentic where Lenard replies that like frontier life it'll probably be exhausting and short. Sheldon looks at him and tells him he's exhausting and short.

Can someone explain to me why geology and anyone who studies it, is considered a joke, not only on this show, but in _South Park_ and other TV shows? How can someone like Sheldon dismiss and scoff at geologists, when _he's_ living on a rocky planet?

Sheldon puts down everything that isn’t primarily theoretical. That’s also why he’s always dissing Howard as “only being an engineer”. Never mind that without geologists and engineers, he wouldn’t have a safe place to live, especially in California.

Well in terms of TBBT, the geology joke was just there with Sheldon; it eventually got explained in the kinda sorta prequel "Young Sheldon" which I didn't watch so I can't recall what exactly is the reason, but it originated in his childhood (which is the case for basically everyone in the show).

@@dnapolyace6342, yes you do! It’s hilarious and exceptionally well done. They really went to the source material of BBT to backtrack to Sheldon’s youth. What’s even more awesome is that Laurie Metcalf’s real daughter Zoe plays Mom in the Young Sheldon series. I I also saw on our local news a young teenager named Elliott Tanner who just graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in physics and will begin pursuing his PhD in theoretical physics in the fall. He’s a huge fan of Young Sheldon and got to visit the set. He and Iain have become fast friends. They text and play video games together all the time. I sincerely hope these two can remain lifelong friends.

If I can be brutally honest: I was somewhat like Sheldon. I developed it late in life, I grew up with Autism, but by a miracle, I got my social skills and went to college. As I started reading more, building my vocabulary, and even began building a level of Intellect. But what I didn't realize was as I got smarter and more intellectual I was turning into Sheldon. I didn't care if my facts hurt someone etc. Thankfully the friends I have now made me aware of what I was doing and saying so I was able to adjust that but still remain brand new with my breakthrough.

I would definitely say the best show is when Sheldon comes out in their living room in the AM with "No Pants" on and asks Leonard & Penny to explain just exactly what happened last night and to shed some light on where his pants are & by that time Leonard has the You Tube already set up to just Press "Play" in order for Sheldon to get a clear picture as to the previous night's events. When Sheldon in the video is almost naked on stage it couldn't get much worse as he speaks to the audience about the Dark Side of the Moon then turns around quickly and moons them yelling "And here's "URANUS" obviously with a twisted double meaning. I have rolled back that episode on more than a few occassions and I laugh each time more than the first time I'd ever seen it. There are lots of other great episodes like Leonard Nimoy's DNA napkin & the one where he's about to rub Vicks Vapo Rub on Amy's chest & when he removes one of the numbers in his address so Amy can't find him but this one for me takes the cake. BRILLIANT to say the least.

I have to disagree on the "Bernadette & Amy" situation. I feel like we could all see that one coming eventually, but nobody expected Amy to come back woth the fire that she did. It even made Bernadette leave the apartment. Amy's the clear winner here.

Considering these people are 'genius'.....I don't think of these responses as insults. It's more like having quick wit. Not too many people can JUST come up with an instant reply to something said to them,so they take it as an insult. But,really highly intelligent people have a quick wit about them. Unless the INTENT is to be mean.....But,if not...it's just thinking fast .
