I always laugh at people who just started Pokemon recently. It's like.. You have it easy with your physical special split, megas, ghost attacks that DO something, bug type attacks that aren't just leech life from a zubat, beating brock with a butterfree using confusion since you chose Charmander, etc :p

Picking Wario Land 1 over Wario Land 2 is a disservice IMO

Ah yes, the GB definitely had a great library of games(although 10 had to be picked for the top 10). Definitely some time down the road I wouldn't mind seeing a Top 10 GBC games, Top 10 GBA games, Top 10 DS games, and possibly Top 10 3DS games. All those Nintendo portables mentioned there all had a fantastic library.

To be honest, my favorite Game Boy Advanced game is Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. I know it isn't from the original Game Boy, but it's good and relatable nonetheless.

For the longest time, Super Mario Bros. 2 6GC was my favorite game. I had to buy it when it came out for the 3DS Virtual Console.

I still have Kid Dracula. I think I heard somewhere that it's a collectors item that goes for a lot of money. Especially if you have the original box and instruction manual.

Man i loved this times. Games had heart and soul, you need to think when you played and you could explore by yourself. No endless sings where to go and what to do. You where free in so many ways. Today all this is missing from most games, but thanks god there is a indie sector meanwhile. I played trough all of this games you had in this list. Man i'm old. I saw the Atari, was there when the NES got the monopoly over the industry and from then on there was only nintendo for me. A friend had the Sega consoles, but the games where never as fun to play. Until the WII U, the first Nintendo Console i never owned and never will.

The Final Fantasy Legend trilogy games all get spots on my personal list. They're technically from the Saga franchise just localized to capitalize on the final fantasy name. Aside from the fact that the first two games had a monster transformation system that literally required a guide, these games have tons of replayability. Different "job classes" don't just get different stats upon level up, they each have their own means of leveling up, so different party combinations can completely change the way you play.

Zelda games are amazing on handholds, my favourite handheld is Oracle of Seasons personally, it's pretty similar to Awakening but it's only playable on gameboy color though not the original gameboy. Also I had no idea there was an Awakening DX colored version, wow.

Only the gator pinball game was unknown to me. I'm bias but I would have replaced it with Metroid 2. I'm also suprised that Kid Dracula, one of my most favorite GB game made the list. I thought it was obscure as hell. And finally, that Zelda game. The best one in the series IMO. It's ending make me teary-eyed every times.

You should do "Top Ten Experiments That Went Horribly Wrong." You could use like super hero origins or zombie virus outbreaks. You could also do "Top Ten Screams" with things like horror movie women that shatter glass or Jean Grey's scream in Apocalypse when the Phoenix first appeared.

Super Mario Land 2 was quite possibly the first handheld Nintendo game I ever played.

Had a good idea about what 1 and 2 would be, but I was expecting them to be the other way round.

I never played Mega Man V until it came to the 3DS Virtual Console. I was super excited lol.

These are some great games, but they are more known and popular then others. Some of the lesser known / rare games are my favorites like Avenging Spirit / Felix the cat / Toxic Crusaders to name a few. Also Ninja Gaiden is awesome on the GB. That would probably be my favorite currently.

Back when I was a kid, I didn't think too much of the intro of Pokemon when the Gengar and Jigglypuff fight. Now that I'm older though, I realize that Jigglypuffs attack probably had no effect on that Gengar at all. xD About as silly as the fact that Gengar was using Slash/Scratch against it.

I never played Kid Dracula, but I have everything else on this list and I agree with it completely.

was only into gameboy for about a year or so, but it was hot when it came out... only played like super mario land, tetris, batman, tmnt, ducktales, dr mario maybe a couple more... once snes and genesis came out, gameboy gathered dust for me. It's hard to go back and play those but want to play zelda/ff (mana game)/metroid/ at some point. I remember reading about them in Nintendo Power at least.

Wario Land, Donkey Kong 94 and Super Mario Land 2 are the best GB games! Also Donkey Kong Land Trilogy too.

Link's Awakening is my favorite Game Boy game, my favorite handheld game, my favorite Zelda game, and my favorite action adventure RPG. It's amazing. Play the DX version if you can and make sure you look EVERYWHERE because there's a shot hidden dungeon that requires a color display. It's such a great game and if you've written it off for being on the Game Boy you're making a huge mistake.

It should be noted that Kid Dracula for GB is a remake of the original NES title Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula-kun. Also, it's "Galamoth", not "Garamoth" in English. I watched this video to add games to my list of games i want to play on my GPD XD. This brings me up to 134 games so far.

I remember when I was 6-7 years old and I was at a friend's house. He was spoiled and had all kinds of toys and games. He had both a Sega Genesis, and a SNES -- which was extremely impressive to a kid my age lol but one day we were playing with his toys and I was digging through his toy box, when I found it. It was this plastic, bulky, grey box with buttons, no back piece, and missing batteries. I asked him what it was and he blew it off like it was some useless crap and told me I could have it! With it he gave me 3 games; Super Mario Land 2, Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon Red! Luckiest day of my life.

Final Fantasy Legend II is a game you're really missing on here. It was one of the top RPGs of the Game Boy system. And yes I know it technically wasn't a 'Final Fantasy' game, for those who would try to spaz out about that fact. Seriously though. It even got a DS remake, along with FFLIII. God I wish they'd ported it over.

My mom got me a Gameboy for Christmas when it came out than she was the one to run the battery's out over and over again playing Tetris.

I recognise Pokémon's fame legacy, and had quite a bit of fun with it, but to me, number one has to be Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. When I first played Pokémon I thought they borrowed quite a bit from Final Fantasy due to the battle system, took away the "save the world" epic story found in FF, and replaced it with a grind-tastic collecting aspect. I enjoyed it but never thought it would become as big as it did. And speaking of FF, personally I would've dropped Tetris from the list (or at least to the bottom of the list). Iconic as it was, and the fact it was often bundled with the device meant that it was the one game you can always play with your friends, it didn't quite make me dream the same way the Final Fantasy Legend series did, or Ninja Boy 2 (probably not that well known but it was awesome).

I started playing Pokémon with Pokémon FireRed which I found on a school bus.

ftr, Terra was originally named Earth in the Japanese version of MMV (or rather, Rockman World V). why he was renamed still mystifies. also, you could have mentioned that it's one of the few MM games that DOESN'T FEATURE WILY AS THE FINAL BATTLE. makes me glad i bought it back when it first came out. it's actually my fav Mega Man game, period. wish i still had the box though....
