@@BoardGamingRamblings Hehe, yeah the best name :D I guess I will have to play it with the expansion, yes. Was just that this game was hyped so much and my wife and me really did not enjoy it too much, as it felt bland after two plays already, and material value for money is terrible as well. Surely I can see why CoB is loved and maybe it is really the deluxe version that made it weird, because we all had problems telling the building tiles apart visual impairment aside. Will also play this again for sure!

@@BoardGamingRamblings I don't think a 2-player-only list is ever really necessary. To me, you only need two lists (maybe 3): 1) Best games for 2 players. If you're simply looking for the best game for 2 players, why should it matter what other player counts it has? 2) The best 2-player games that also play well at higher player counts. It would have to be a list of good 2-player games, played best with 2 players. But, they are also great with more. The tough part is how to weigh the fact that it plays well at many player counts. For example, if a 2-player game is just as great with 3 but not good at all with 4+, do you rank it higher than a game that is ALMOST as good with 3-5 players? 3) Best 2-player games with great solo experiences. You could probably rank the game as a 2-player game and then rank the game as a solo game and average them. ;)

Five Tribes is great at 2! Haven't played Shakespeare in quite a while, and we did sell our copy! Just too many games to choose from :O

So glad you enjoyed the video, thank you so much! You could have bad luck in GAH, but I have never seen it be a factor into who wins the game. The pass+re roll is a good option if you cannot do anything with what is there. Of course, it’s completely fine to not like it 🥳

@Jon G, I feel an important part of GAH is keeping your options open, being flexible and working with what comes up rather than going for a very tight strategy where you're at the mercy of the dice. If there is a round where lots of room dice come up, I might open up rooms even of I don't have guests ready. But even so, there is always something to be done that will benefit you, if not now then in future turns. Money is always helpful, as are empire points. You can always store food in the kitchen. The 6 die can help mitigate a lack of another die, and if all else fails and you really need a particular die, you can always pass and reroll. If you're struggling for rooms, your opponents must be too.

Haha, that is true ;) There is really very few games I have only played at two, except some of these story driven co-ops, and I am pretty sure (from other experiences) that I wouldn't like them a lot with more :P
