That detail about Ash-Greninja during the Olympia battle was wild!! I don’t think I ever noticed that!!😱😱 I can honestly agree with all the picks on this list! They all feel valid and worthy of being on the list! If only Ash Vs Clemont was higher and Ash Vs Korrina was on the list😤😤 I’m playing lol. Love ur list regardless. I agree with the list. Honestly, the wulfric battle was a spectacle to behold. The action sequence were just too good. I was confused why abamasnow was final pokemon but boy oh boy,why I saw the stone I was like,"WTF?!". And that final kick to the ceiling and greninjq doing its signature hand fold landing was very satisfying

As soon as I heard the Ash-Greninja theme, I knew that the number one spot would be Ash vs. Wulfric!! That’s my favorite Gym Battle!! A very close second is Ash vs Olympia, because, like you said, it’s stunning to watch and has a sneak peek of Ash-Greninja, which is phenomenal!!

My favourite Ash gym battle was Ash vs Korrina as it was that Ash was finally able to beat A Lucario the Pokemon he had to struggle against the last two Gens.

Solid list. Glad that you included a bunch of underrated battles (Jasmine, Clair, Juan, Brycen, Roxie) Didn't expect the number 1 though haha and I'm surprised there's no mention of Lt. Surge, which I'm not mad about. Overall, fantastic editing and banger music!

Thanks! Lt. Surge did not even enter my mind when thinking of contenders lol, I think Ash vs Blaine is like 3x better and I already talked about how I felt about Ash vs Blaine haha. Pikachu vs Bergmite alone was a better battle than other of Ash's matches vs Lt. Surge or Blaine, at least in my opinion. Anyways, glad you enjoyed the video!

Fully agree with your list. But seriously , I noticed Ash-greninja in the Olympia battle for the first time . I mean. Wow. I’m speechless. It was a really good battle. I was actually going to comment Ash vs Korrina not being in the list but I agreed with the point you mentioned about that dance battle style. Also thankyou for having Roxie gym battle in top 3. I always felt that it was an underrated gym battle🙌🙌

I had absolutely no idea about the Ash-Greninja thing during Ash vs Olympia until I read about it online lol. I probably had seen it twice and it never registered to me. Now I cannot unsee it! I am surprised that I have only gotten support so far with my Roxie ranking, I think it is really great but I was expecting a lot of people to tell me otherwise haha

I agree with the majority of the list but I’d be remised if I didn’t mention my slight problems with the battles against Roxie and Wulfric. For me, they are great battles in a vacuum but go down on my list when you consider as a wider part of the series… Okay, so I can’t get past the 6v3 battle with Roxie, especially when it seems the battle only really gets started when Ash chooses Leavanny. It could have been a great 4 on 4 (give Roxie a Seviper or Muk) and then there’d be nothing distracting me from what is an otherwise good battle. Wulfric’s battle is fantastic and I’ve nothing bad to say about Greninja vs Abomasnow. You mention that Avalugg destroyed Ash in the first battle - Avalugg did this by sustaining itself with Ice Body and Avalanche. How did Ash overcome this? He didn’t. Wulfric just didn’t use Ice Body or Avalanche in the second battle, it seems to ignore the first battle. Bergmite could’ve used Hail so Avalugg could make use of Ice body… I’m not thrilled about Bergmite either - It really seems like they just shoved it into the battle because it was a Pokémon but hadn’t had any kind of major role. Cryognal or even Mamoswine would have been better. So I’m the end, I think vs Roxie falls out my top 10 (probably still top 20) and vs Wulfric is probably only in my top 5 with vs Olympia being my absolute favourite gym battles.

Nice! I can't disagree with too much of that. I like the 6v3 dynamic of Ash vs Roxie because it showed just how strong Roxie is. As for Wulfric, he did use Avalanche a few times in the second battle, but you're right about Avalugg not taking advantage of Ice Body.

Fun List! I think it would be hard for me to pick a favorite....I love XY and XYZs gym battles a lot so my #1 would probably be one of those. If Gen 6 wouldnt exist, my favorite would probably be Ash vs Maylene though

My favorite gym battle is Vs wulfric. I rewatched that gym battle so many times im a huge fan of the xy gym battles Ash vs wulfric Ash vs clemont Ash vs korinna Ash vs clair Ash vs maylene Ash vs skyla Ash vs clay Like most people im a major xy stan. That has a little story with it

MY OPINION: 1. Ash VS Olympia 2.Ash VS Wulfric [REMATCH] 3.Ash VS Claire [REMATCH] 4.Ash VS Clemont 5.Ash VS Volkner 6.Ash VS Korrina 7.Ash VS Blaine [REMATCH] 8.Ash VS Juan 9.Ash VS Brycen 10.Ash VS Jasmine Roxie is in TOP 15 and Maylene is in TOP 20 in my list!

I personally like ash vs guzma, albeit not an actual gym battle it still is a symbolic checkpoint for ash's battling skills towards the end of the alola league

I’d like to see Ash challenge all the Galar gym leaders in battles for training before he goes to the master 8 battles which will most likely be in Galar. Maybe about a month before the master class battles as gets to train and prepare.

In platinum my 2 aces by the time i blew cynthias team into the stratosphere was actually luxray and infernape (luxray wasn't on my team when i beat her as i was training other pokemon under the incorrect usumpsion she would be hard as her spiritomb and lucario were the only pokemon that got an atk of let alone ko'd anything (spiritomb crit out my roserade and lucario knocked out half my team (ironically loosing to roserade after revival herb) after getting a half health -4 def extreme speed on my infernape who had blitzed everything else on her team other than her garchomp who was ranged by close combat but 2 shot by brick break after it went for stone edge (it missed) despite not having a air balloon on my infernape))

I haven't watched any Gym Battles at all, so I have no favorites. But I feel like I would agree with most of these picks when I do watch them. I don't mind Ash vs Roxie being on the list. Roxie's just one of the strongest Gym Leaders. I'd say she's Top 3. And watching this video gave me a stupid idea that they stopped Gym Battles after XY because they realized that they peaked, especially with Ash vs Wulfric. Seriously, are there any bad XY Gym Battles that Ash won?

Nope! The only "bad" ones are Ash's losses against Viola and Wulfric, but both of those are alright really

Oh XY easily had the best Gym Battles. A lot of people's top 10 lists will have like 5+ XY battles. Anyways, I hope you one day get the chance to watch all of the Gym Battles and the rest of the anime, it's always better to come up with your own ideas and opinions rather than just agree with what others say

I know the Indigo League was the first season of the anime and not everything was terrible but I hate what they did to the Kanto Gym Battles most of them were so pathetic compared to the other regions.

Liking this video *would help* get my next review more likes. Any video that I post, the more likes it gets, the more likely my videos will get recommended to others. It might be my anti XY bias but i don’t see most of the gym battles to be that good I still feel like XY was flash but no substance Wulfric was just ok

I’m not gonna like this list feels wrong. Of course this is my opinion, but I think idk like the xy series had way bettter battles

Just depends on how you determine what makes a good battle. Certainly XY battles have a lot of differences compared to older series, so it just depends what you value in a Pokémon battle.
