INVINCIBLE is easily 1 of the greatest superhero books ever. Beginning to End of All Things. And SPAWN is the cornerstone of Image and IS the greatest game changin character in history IMO

Top Image/Top Cow Comics : 1. Curse of Spawn 2. Spawn 3. Wetworks (Wildstorm not Image when Portacio was on it) 4. Darkness 5. Witchblade 6. Fathom. 7. Ascension 8. Spawn The Impaler 9. Cyberforce 10. Aria (the Christy Turlington lookalike not the Blond girl) boring but by far the best artwork of any Image comics. the rest of Image comics barely comes close to these

Black Science was easily my number 1 reading in 2019. A Non stop, roller coaster scifi adventure. Must read and highly recommended 😎👍

Hey Gem, enjoying your kick ass videos as always! I’m mainly a marvel and dc reader since I’ve been reading comics (about 3-4 years now) but have just started on spawn. It’s a comic I always wanted to get into but just never got around to. I’ve managed to track down origins collection book 1 and am starting there. These are crazy hard to come by especially the collected omnibus editions like you have but I have to say I’m really enjoying the writing and as you said, the artwork is awesome! Cheers dude!

Your comments on invincible and Walking Dead are spot on. I stopped collecting for 25 years and picked up a walking dead TPB, then ended up geting the whole series along with invincible, that was about 5 years ago and i have not looked back, collecting like crazy now :)

There's no way to collect the later comics in hardcover. This would be great to to the whole collection in hardcover.

Allan Swegard but if your late spawn fan buy single issues can be expensive and some tpb I spent almost 50.0 for single issue of spawn I didn’t own in series

Great video as always Stephen! Some titles are new to me but will def check them out, especially if reviewed by you. A big fan of The Walking Dead and I love your comments about it. Apart from saying check it out, there’s nothing more to be said that hasn’t been said already. It’s awesome!

I just finished TWD for the 2nd time as I finally just picked up the 4th omnibus. Such a great story. Start to finish. I started Invincible a few years back, so I need to go to that soon. Good list. Several I haven’t read, so I’ll save this list. Thanks for sharing!

You mean, "Brit"? If so, I agree. Kirkman writes for characters of all ages and abilities. Also, Kirkman likes (or at least liked) to visit my local comic store and sign everything (well, his own books, and the ceiling, too), and I have several of them. I liked his _Battle Pope_ as well, that was his first work I read. I got to #30 or so of _Walking Dead_ then gave up when he said (in a letter column) we might never learn how it all began. _Invincible_ and several others I stuck with all the way, either paper or digital. 😍🤩😁

@@StaySqueezy12 -- Maybe that's the case. Robert Kirkman created a character named Brit (who was invulnerable and very strong, as was his baby son), and he and his family starred in his own comic. He also was a character in Kirkman comics featuring teams of heroes ("Guardians of the Globe" comes to mind). Lots of good comics to look for.

Spawn is my favorite character of all time! Love it! I read the first 30 issues of Saga and liked it ok, but it kind of lost me! I'm just getting into collecting Walking Dead books, but I read the first six trades back in the day and loved them!

Nice to see McFarlane/Spawn at #1. McFarlane on Amazing Spider-Man got me into comics at the end of the 80s and he's remained my all time favorite artist.

The Walking Dead show is actually gotten really good again, the whisperer war arc was done better than the comics did and not being dragged out like season 8 did with the war with the saviors

@Tom The Fish yes and I'm very biased towards the comics being better but surprisingly the new show runner has done a really good job at making the whisperers actually being a menacing opponent. Also I think the shows version of Alpha and Beta are better than the comics. Makes me think Kirkman rushed through the whisperer comic arc a little bit but I still enjoyed the comic version

@@shanenonwolfe4109 Yes, I remain skeptical as well. I was watching the walking dead for a very long time but stopped a couple years ago because it endlessly frustrated me. Wondering whether its worth revisiting again as some people have told me its good again.

Hey! I really enjoy the books you review. I want to know if you’ve ever read “Stray Bullets”. by David Lapham El Capitan comics. It’s a crime comic whose characters explode in your face. One of my fav titles.

Some of the most classic superhero stuff should be better collected. Not everything was good, but that also applies to DC/Marvel. Savage Dragon, Shadowhawk, the Claremont Wildcats, the Alan Moore stuff that he did for Image.

I'm looking forward to the Invincible animated series. Is there a stopping point with Spawn? 300 issues seems a bit daunting to me (especially if the quality dips) so I wonder if it's like DC Comics where you can usually choose a starting/stopping point for their most important characters until a reset/reboot happens.

Have to finally read Invincible! Love Image and Gideon Falls has been one of my fave books of 19/20 along with Rob Guillory's Farmhand. Been a TWD fan since issue 3 of the series and still love the show. God Country is super dope as well - lucky to have a signed issue 1!

As a kid my favourite comic book was Pitt. The artwork was something else entirely and for me it was Image's version of the hulk. Invincible is great too. Haven't red the rest with the exception of spawn and the walking dead.

I remember way back when you were kinda "meh" about Invincible but only had gotten a short way into the library editions.....and now you know what we all are thinking....its one of if not the BEST superhero comic EVER!!!!!! I own every format it's been printed in..the ultimate 12 volume collection, the 3 omnibus hardcover and softcover collection, the library editions and every single issue from #1 graded to issue 144....I think I have a problem 🤣 thanks again for the great vid!!
