Okay, I just CRACKED up when I found out that Ditto was based on an emoji, as well as Gogoat being based on a motorcycle, Skiddo being based on a bicycle, and Victini being based on apples cut into the shape of rabbits! THAT, is fudging hilarious! Although I'm not gonna lie, I actually thought that Volcanion was based off of a Volcano, specifically, an UNDERWATER Volcano, due to it's name, typing, and overall signature move. I mean, Steam Eruption? In real life, that's most likely a Volcano erupting underwater!

I had no idea bout Gogoat or Marill. I knew about Mantine and Remoraid, especially, since Remoraid's evolution Octillery is obviously a combination of octopus and artillery.

I used to think Gogoats and Skiddos were based on mountains. Because i misread it’s category, and the fact that it looks like dirt with grass on it.

Mantine and Remoraid are a fun one. In old Mantine artwork, the Remoraid attached to it also looks slightly different, more capsule or torpedo shaped. As a kid, I thought it was just a young one, protected by Mantine. What's funny to me is that they actually stopped portraying Mantine and Remoraid like this ingame in Gen4 - the same generation that introduced Mantyke, whose evolution references exactly this symbiosis. I always thought that was kinda weird - I'd think they would lean into it more at that point, not less. I only recently learned there was actually fish that shoot like Remoraid, so that was actually a surprise here. I only knew about the remora.

I knew about Gogoat before seeing either video xD I mean look at the horns. Its Pokedex entries point to it being ridden and holding the horns as a way to connect with it, and they look like motorcycle handles xD you got me on basically all the others though, except maybe Garchomp.

Just goes to show how Pokémon is different than other games and anime similar to it. It's has so much more thought in its design and is so well crafted. That's why it's so easy to fall in love with a Pokémon
