It seems the population figures used to rank the cities unreliable. Suppose ranking Jijiga second to Addis. If reliable statistics is taken Jijiga may land out side 10th rank or so forth since it is not as such populated city compared with many others.

Jigjiga is only part of Ethiopia because the British gave this region to Ethiopia in early 1900 as a gift for helping the British colonists in their war against the Somali! The only reason it’s still part of Ethiopia is because Somalia has been experiencing civil war created by the west and maintained by Ethiopia through proxy wars.. Somali region in Ethiopia will soon be part of Somalia as a federal state.. including Harar and Dirir Dhabe
