It may’ve been set during the ‘60s and early ‘70s, but these are the Mad Men outfits we want nonetheless. For this list, we’ll be looking at the most memorable and stylish outfits that appeared during the AMC series’ seven-season run. I love how all the selections are either Betty, Megan or Joan ... and then: Peggy! Wish there would have been some mentions of Trudy or Jane Sterling's looks. They had some lovely dresses throughout the series as well ♡

When I was a teenager, I actually owned the blue mini dress that Megan wore to pick up Don at the airport in LA. It's hard to imagine now, but those sleeves were the hottest thing going for awhile.

Betty's Rome outfit was my favorite outfit on the entire show! The hair, makeup, everything that represents what I love about the 60s style.

My favourite looks were Sally's outfit when she snuck out to the museum and got her period, and Trudy's final look, her pink jacket and fuzzy hat when she gets on the plane with Pete and their kid.

I looove Betty’s 50s ballgown I think it’s sad the way those guys played her to get to Don because she didn’t really understand & she loved the idea of modeling again. When Don mentioned what’s gonna happen to Bets... I knew she was gonna be crying when they cut to her and sure enough she was

I'm looking at my Pop Funko's of Joan and Peggy and the red dress and the cigarette and red lipstick outfit are the ones they are modelled in. As I guy I was always inspired by Kinsey's casual looks in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th season and Stans looks in the latter seasons. Stan had a fantastic use of brown and blue denim and vintage scarves and cravats.

Jane Siegel/Sterling also had some amazing outfits. Her canvas-colored dress with the colored boxes lives rent-free in my mind. I also vaguely remember someone wearing the Mondrian dress in the series, but maybe I'm misremembering.

That is not a cape Joan wears with her black sheath dress! It's a beaded evening sweater thrown over her shoulders. You can see the sleeves.

Naomi Going I’ve read this awesome blog Tom and Lorenzo where they refer to that as her Roger dress: they show it when we first see her canoodling with Roger, then when he calls things off after his heart attack and I believe one more time around the time she gets married to Jane Not my favorite outfit of her but I think it carries some symbolic meaning if they make a point to have her wear it more than once

The only "clanger" in the Mad Men wardrobe department was showing Peggy wearing panty hose in about 1962. They weren't popular in the States until the late '60s.

I think Miss Mojo “wants” some of these outfits not because of the aesthetic appeal, but wants to feel the way these characters felt in the clothes. Janie Bryant, the costumer for Mad Men, worked really hard to create costumes that fit the period and fit the narrative for each character. I personally didn’t care for Joan’s black dress from Season 1, but I can see how people want the feminine sex appeal and carefree feeling of a night out that she has in that dress.

Great job! Like always you get it flagrantly and embarrassingly WRONG!! There were numerous outfits Peggy wore that would have trumped several you added to your "list" Have you even watched this show? Ugh!
