Toph and Iroh are my favorite characters! My favorite scene with Top was when she took down those Earthbenders by herself in the Earth Rumble ring.

Avatar Kyoshi is considered the greatest Avatar till Aang and she is only a honorable mention!

Amon was always using subtle blood bending to make attacks slightly off and miss him and made it look like he was dodging perfectly because he knew where the attacks were. Also while Zaheer was a genius and planned things really well his bending was not above Roku level. He lost to Tenzin and was only able to beat him with the help of the rest of the Red Lotus when they cornered him and only was able to compete with Korra while she was weakened and poisoned and still lost. He is a good bender but he is not Avatar level. Also Kyoshi being an honorable mention ranking her below Zuko and Amon? Someone only saw the show and knows nothing else about the universe.

Aang is on another whole level, he gained the ability to take away bending. Not via a plot hole or technically like Amon using blood bending. But gained that ability thru the ancient turtles. And once he took it away no one could restore it.

Amon deserves more respect. He has psychic blood bending and can probably beat most on this list with that power. Aang was nearly killed by Yakone if not for the avatar state. Also Zaheer was up there in terms of being a leader and villain however in term of power I think his entire team was more powerful and dangerous. P'Li with the curved combustion bending, Ming Hua was probably the most insane waterbender we've seen, and the Lava bending?!

zuko's character development was a masterpiece and his fire bending is just epic. iroh is an absolute master in both wisdom and fire bending

Amon can Bloodbend without full moon, besides Avatars no one in the verse can resists his Bloodbending. Ozai, Azula, Iroh, Toph, Zuko, Zaheer, Kuvira, Bumi vs Amon alone, still Amon will wipe the floor out of them if Amon doesn't play around and goes straight for the kill.

Not to mention she merged the physical and spirit worlds back again

I still argue that Zaheer shouldn't have been "that good" of a bender. He could have studied and meditated all he wanted but he barely got bending and even challenged Tenzin (but lost).

Amon can bloodbend without a full moon. He's the strongest bender besides the Avatars. And don't forget his brother and father. The Yakone family are OP Zaheer wasn't able to beat Tenzin without help. Zaheer would probably have become the strongest airbender by far if he'd been given more time and proper training. But he's an inexperienced bender and Tenzin is slightly better Here's my unpopular opinion: Korra would beat Aang in a fight. Korra is a warrior and Aang is a pacifist and a diplomat. Aang is the better Avatar, but Korra beats him in terms of strength I'd also put my money on Kyoshi over Roku. I'm pretty sure Kyoshi would've beaten Sozin to a pulp and stopped the 100 year war before it started. She died at the age of 230 and was probably very strong and experienced at her peak The combustion benders are one of the most lethal and dangerous benders in the Avatarverse. They'd give pretty much everyone a run for their money

I would love to see a fight between Zaheer and Ozai

Aang fought a volcano at 12 years old and won after only mastering airbending. Roku died fighting a volcano after “mastering” the 4 elements to defend an evacuated town. He could also lavabend when he lost to a volcano. Roku was the single worst avatar ever. It took Roku 12 years to “master” 3 elements. Aang mastered 3 elements in 10 months. By 12 years old he could beat volcanoes without lavabending. By 13 years old, he saved the water and earth nations, won a war started because of Roku, and created a new country. He did it with the worst advice from the worst avatar. Imagine the advice Kyoshi gave him. Imagine the kind of advice Aang could have given Korra. Then look at the advice he gave Aang. Did you know that you shouldn’t let your best friend occupy other nations and commit genocide? It was news to him. Roku does not belong on this list.

Amon should be in 4th. Blood bending whenever you want to a normal bender is OP. He's stronger than Zaheer 💀

The first time you see aang with all four elements mastered is basically burned into my brain. Avatar genuinely is one of the best cartoons of all time imo. Also lok while not as strong towards the end imo was a great follow up as well in a way.

I'm sorry, but Korra is more powerful than Aang. Her Avatar Spirit is in its prime, making her Avatar State stronger, and we literally see her tear the fabric of reality to create a new spirit portal. Even the creators have stated that Korra would beat Aang in a fight.

Amon would crush both Azula and Zaheer. He is the only villain that didn't go to the prison or lost his bending

Iroh deserves higher on the list. When told he needs to kill his brother, he never says once “I am no strong enough.” Or “I couldn’t beat him.” He simply says “it isn’t my place.”

What should be noted about Kuvira's first fight against Korra is that Korra was fresh from having the last traces of the metal poison out of her and she still hasn't been able to deal with her PTSD completely, therefore not allowing her to enter the Avatar State. So, with the fact that Korra wasn't at the top of her game, it wasn't exactly a fair and equal fight against Kuvira. Of course, Kuvira can still be powerful, considering she beat Suyin in a fight. And I honestly think Iroh should've been higher. And I'm not saying this because he's my absolute favourite character. The fact that he understood true firebending and invented a technique to redirect lightning are just two factors of just how powerful he is.

I disagree about Zhaeer. Amazing villain, but top 10? Tenzin bodied him 1v1!

Amon and Iroh should have been in the top 5. With Amons blood bending ability and to take bending away, and Iroh being one of the top fire benders out of both series.

Amon with his bloodbending can pretty much defeat anyone other than Avatar in one on one fight. Avatar Kyoshi broke entire island from mainland, I don't think any earth bender can do that, only an Avatar in Avatar mode can do that. Zuko could have killed Ozai by redirecting lightning at him but he chose not to, and that method was created by Iroh. Iroh was more powerful and better fire bender than Ozai. If a list of most powerful bender is being created and you are mentioning more than one Avatar, then top 10 will always occupied by different Avatars.

I do not care what people thinks or how Iroh still thinks Azula is evil. But I feel she deserves a redemption arc. Firelord Ozai has treated his children as nothing but prodigies and tools of war.

Maybe I'm being knit picky here, but I feel like the list is quite choosy when it comes to Avatars. Objectively speaking, while the list excludes spirits such as Vaatu and Raava, having Korra and Unalaq as the top 2 would basically be identical to doing that. Also, pretty much any avatar should dominated over every non avatar character if we aren't excluding all these historical characters. Also for every mastered avatar state, each avatar has all the powers of every avatar who came before them + their own; making it face value that Korra > Aang > Roku > Kyoshi > Kuruk > Yangchen. At least for avatar states; base forms are different story with Korra taking the cake since she also merges with full Raava as opposed to having a mini Raava inside them like the others. Also, Iroh should be next to Ozai and possibly above him. It is confirmed that he could match Ozai even if he himself wasn't sure about it. He does have raw power feats that match or even surpass Ozai's; he smashed the Great Wall of Ba Sing Se twice. First time, he didn't even have Sozen's comet; which is also a feat even Sozin couldn't do. Iroh is also the last of the Dragon Masters and among the few grand masters of firebending. He invented the redirection of lightning, a technique even Ozai or Azula cannot do. He can also levitate without fire jets and form fire barriers much like Jeong Jeong can do. So he's arguably just as good as Ozai if not better in raw power, but easily far more skilled. Zuko and Azula also should be next to each other. Props that Toph is the strongest Earthbender, but Tenzin is easily stronger than Zaheer; needed friends 4 on 1 to turn tables against Tenzin who matched 3 out of 4 of them. Also props Amon > Katara in raw power at least, but I'd argue Katara has shown feats that would officially put her above Zuko and Azula. She was about to surpass Pakku, but Zuko and Azula still had a long way to go before reaching Iroh or even Jeong Jeong's level of mastery.

It would have been really funny if Sokka was number 1 with just his boomerang and leadership 😂

for the most part a solid list! however 1. zaheer should not be on this list. tenzin had him easily in a 1v1. yes he was obv very skilled and gifted but he ultimately did not have nearly enough time to master airbending and be “strong” enough to be on this list. 2. katara is stronger than zuko 3. zuko shouldnt be on this list. ik hes a fan fav but he is just not a strong enough bender to be jn top ten. 4. if this list were honest, amon, tarrlok, and yakone would all be on this list. i understand why theyre not all on here, it would get repetitive. and im not saying they are THEE strongest, but being able to bloodbend without a full moon is just nuts. not only that but yakone could do it to mass amounts of people, and amon could do it with his mind AND take bending away. with amon specifically i feel like only korra and aang would be able to beat him. (also maybe katara. she might be able to fight against their bloodbending but i doubt she could be able to bloodbend then back without a full moon).
