In Lust's case Roy wasn't burning her because it was personal, but as a matter of survival. He didn't want her to suffer, he just wanted her to die, with no real emotion behind it.

@@Richard-Espanol I agree, but so was Roy vs Lust. And that scene was especially powerful since Al had just used his own body to shield Hawkeye, who Lust tried to kill AFTER trying to kill the other two, and Roy had basically charred his own skin to prevent himself from bleeding out so he could go AFTER Lust and save Al and Hawkeye from her...and after she said he couldn't kill her, he was determined to try and succeed anyway. Envy got what was coming to him by taking on Huges' form, though. It always drives me nuts in shows where a shapeshifter takes the form of someone's child/friend who's dead and the person stops fighting. Roy's response was much more what I'd expect mine to be. "X is already dead...did you WANT to make me mad?!"

Personally I enjoyed Lust’s death more. Mustang had to improvise to use his alchemy and even as she was being incinerated, Lust still tried attacking him one last time. I also liked how she calmly accepted her defeat, yet left him with some parting words that eventually came true.
