It’s so nice to see SISTAR and 2NE1 and Girls Generation topping the charts, they really were the backbone of Kpop. I can almost see Twice being Girls Generation’s spiritual successor meanwhile Hyuna and Red Velvet changed the game completely from cutesy to badass and slightly occult.

aint no one do it like them tbh. Im a 2ne1 fan but I never straight up considered myself a straight up blackjack -- but musically, 2ne1 is on another level. Red velvelt/Fx are the only other girl groups who carved out a high quality/distinctive sound for themselves

Yeah that's because only those fanbases go crazy in streaming videos. The other ones were organic views and it was a time when "streaming" wasn't a thing. And when social media did not totally blow up yet.

@@sakuraflower7245 The mass streaming popped more in 2018-2019 not in 2016 and even on the later comebacks of BP other fandoms like Once, Reveluv, Army, etc. were mass streaming their stans too so there's no difference. Mind you as If it's your last (the only song they released in 2017) out-streamed: signal, likey, and knock knock (not combined) in 2017. I don't wanna hear it's not organic when mass streaming wasn't a trend at that time. it was purely a hit. BP was just purely monster rookies, no excuses they were meant to be the biggest gg If you're gonna compare their first year then let's go. twice released an EP with 6 songs while BP debuted with a single that consisted of 2 songs "whistle" and "boombayah" Even as a newly debuted GG they set the record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. while twice on the other hand that debuted in 2015 with an EP still didn't reach the top 10 most viewed mv in their first year (2015)

@@arkiiiszn Too bad they didnt sell as good as twice did, actually not even halfway there, cuz it's only the western freaks who stream their only song out of laughable 6? per year(compared to twice's 14-20+ a year) I mean, PSY had more views in a single MV(and pardon me, broke YT with it), then every GG apart from Twice and BP had in their entire existence, and it just shows how little views matter. What actually matters is, how good do they sell, and well, Twice is the best selling gg of all time till this day.

@@championabovechampions5550 Twice have like 7 full album and have around 14M album sold worldwide(other small one included) where BLACKPINK have around 8M sales with 2 full album(other small included too) and with the amount BP have It's very impressive TBH if you compare it to TWICE. Twice has the biggest maket in SK and Japan.. as you don't get national GG named without a reason , where BP have strong hold in western market. I don't think we should compare Album sales in K-pop for BIG groups cuz their fans are like zombies they eat anything they are given and praise the album even if they are mediocre. where compared to west no matter how famous the artist are if they give a mediocre album they vanish and if they can't comeback strong in ther next comeback, this shit don't happen in K-pop.

@@dojmart2806 In 2010 Miss A dominated various charts like the Gaon digital chart ,and melon etc but not on this chart if I’m not mistaken, but girls generation was also pretty popular in Korea as well as Japan and they have a huge influence since they’re already popular and miss a just debuted and their song became a hit in Korea , also in various years like 2011 roly poly topped the various chart but this video is based on views not only from Korean chart that’s why the chart toppers are placed lower sometimes because the case might be that they don’t have much influence in other countries like other groups does.

Well most of the BP views are from later years. A more accurate list would be to have views for that year isolated without views from later years. I'm sure they dominated from ddu x4 onwards though.

I was exactly 6 when I started watching K-pop, and I found it fun. My aunt used to be a hardcore fan of both TVXQ and Suju which made me a fan of them along Bigbang. Then, SNSD debuted in 2007 when I was about 8, and from that time, I started fangirling over all of their songs, along with 2NE1, Kara, f(x), Miss A, Wonder Girls, 4minute, and After School, Apink. Whenever I see them mentioned or hear any second-gen songs, it just gives me nostalgia.

I'm a blink but despite their HUGEEEE fanbase they make comebacks so rarely. Smaller groups with smaller budgets make songs more frequently, but BP brings out less songs. It's the same with BTS. Those guys are arguably the most succesful kpop group EVER and yet they rarely bring out new songs. I like Kpop fans because even though they have so little to work with they still support their idols. I started listening to other genres because I got tired of listening to the same kpop songs over and over again.
