Not as much forced excuse, as just with poorly developed build-up. Author said that he planned to make Naruto and Hinata a thing for a long time, if not from the beginning. But, as he admited himself, he is just very bad at creating romances. I have very mixed feelings about "The Last". From one point I loved scenes with Naruto and Hinata, from another I hated everything else. Villian, fight scenes, nuances in mythology… But I really, REALLY liked Naruto and Hinata… Yeah, in the end, I know this romance was developed very poorly across entire anime, but I can't help it. I just love these two, and I really think they match each other.

Konrad Gościcki I know people are saying kishimoto planned it from the start but that’s loads of bs..he says a lot of things and contradictions. he also said he planned for hinata to be the heroine, but 15 years within the mix, he didn’t do that. Just because he said he intended on whatever doesn’t validate the story.. well for me at least. naruto’s perfect match was Sasuke.

okay you are right about the boruto anime but how the other movies canon? Road to Ninja is a AU, not just the opposite universe but how the Akatsuki are alive and considerably weaker that one of the Kononha 11 can go toe to toe with one while in the real manga, it was alot more difficult to take down 1 Akatsuki member.

the other films make no sense timeline wise and usually the characters act out of character if you know what I mean like in blood prison which felt like fan fiction....its good for what it is but it aint the same charcaters we know and love...it aint Naruto...

no the last is the best film..it has great art music animation fights adventure story narratives drama villain and ideals.....boruto while canon and written by the author also has all his lame writing flawes and tropes and mistakes and he just skips important scenes like hes autistic or lazy expecting us to fill in the blank scenes he cut or didn't bother writing..its just very clunky...the last fight saves this horrible film from being at the bottom imo...its 2nd cause its canon...but as a film its bottom tier....I liked road to ninja way more heck as shitty as it was blood prison was a better film...the boruto film is like 4 fillers put together

Ok from naruto young series, first movie is the best critically but i enjoyed third one as fun trip, highly avoid second one. As for shippuden: critically "The Last" is the best and i enjoyed it the most aswell. So its #1. #2 would be blood prison naruto the movie, because of course it is well made critically, the story is engaging but the main reason i prefer it over the 6th one is because everything in the story has a reason and every battle has deep emotional connection despite highly sadistic environment, while road to ninja has nice reverse story which is interesting but without it there isnt that much going for it. #3 is boruto the movie, well its critically great, the story is greatly written with alot of effort, in fact i think they put the most work into it, but the mains characters felt weak ( i mean alot of people dislike boruto anime... go figure... ) And apart opening scene and naruto and sasuke battle at the end, there wasnt much going for it, it had no emotional connection compared to naruto series, combine it with weak characters and you get a great movie that had potential to be the best but felt to its own shortcomings. #4/#5 is a tie between the lost tower naruto the movie and road to ninja: i liked the lost tower because it was emotional and fun journey with heartwarming and easy story and the movie was interesting and engaging without heavy plot or insane flashed out battles. While i liked road to ninja because of its strongly written story, but as i said previously, there wasnt any emotional connection compared to the rest of the list and the battles were flashed out and repititive, they felt like they were made for flashness, not for greatness which is an important factor for great battle, but since road of ninja is much stronger in some departments than the lost tower naruto the movie, i put it in a tie at #5/#4 with the lost tower.
