Without Obito sacrificing himself to save sasuke and Naruto, Kakashi would've died protecting both of them and remember that Kakashi played a crucial time in defeating Kaguya and saving the world. So technically if he hadn't befriended then, the world would've suffered badly. Same with Sasuke.
