I passed my driving test 13 years ago which had 14 minors. I failed the first time with a major and on both occasions I had gotten the same examiner. Anyway, no accidents in those 13 years of driving and I have even driven in other Countries where the vehicle had the steering wheel on the left hand side. Once you pass your driving test don’t look back and enjoy driving.

You're the best driving instructor on youtube. I was watching this bald guy and he was so arbitrary with his driving protocols. Being like "every 8 seconds check all your mirrors" and "shoulder check every time you move laterally." When practicing it was causing even more or a distraction cuz I was too busy checking mirrors and wasnt even fully aware of what was going on in front of me. I really appreciate how in one of your videos you said something like "you need to use the mirrors that are relevant to the information you need to know in that situation." So thank you for being more practical and logical in your driving instruction. It took a lot of stress off me from worrying about checking mirrors arbitrarily when I'm already aware of the vehicles around me.

Passed today first time with 2 minors watching your videos was such a great help. I was still so nervous but for anyone about to take their test, there is no need to be nervous it is easier than you may think and there’s always more times you can retake if you don’t pass.

Got my test a week this Friday after many cancellations due to lockdowns. Trying to stay calm but difficult with the added pressure of next available test dates not being until next summer at least. Been watching your videos for a while and they are extremely helpful. Let’s hope it all comes in handy next week.

Biggest tip is don't get nervous most people can easily pass the uk driving test if they don't get nervous. I failed on my first attempt as I got nervous and the car rolled back a lot. So that'll be my biggest tip imagine the examiner is your instructor or parent that can help calm your nerves a lot.

The steering fault can also be when drifting from one lane to another, eg on a roundabout.

Thankyou for the videos been watching and revising over and over again and guess what with your fountain of knowledge and the information you provided I finally passed my driving test and it was an independent driving without satnav proper nerve racking when I heard I wasn't gonna use the satnav. The examiner kept saying breath,, take your time, relax no need to worry lol

I'm not from the UK but central Europe, but I wanted to say how great your videos are, I have been learning how to drive for 3 years and I finally passed two weeks ago on my first try. I still can't believe I managed to pass 😅. Now I hope I'll get better and better and really become a good driver, so your videos will still be really helpful to me. Sadly i drive an old, 87 Fiero with original engine in it. As much as your videos helped me learn to drive a manual, i wish i could find a teacher with an older classic car :( It needs a little extra help in certain areas, like taking off etc. It stalls much easier lol I imagine because the engine is old. Love the video, thanks for the tips. I wouldn't own my car today if it weren't for your videos

I thought going too slowly would be in there, I got 2 minors for it in my own test last week but passed overall. Also got 2 minors for missing chances to turn. But it feels safer to wait if you aren’t sure.

Love the videos and information provided, you have a very good attitude towards teaching. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on learning to drive in small vans instead of cars? It seems like most instructors I've talked to think its bad, but the dvla don't state whether it's okay or not.

I don't believe you can do your test in a van due to lack of visibility for the examiner. Same with many convertible cars. The car needs to have front and rear seats.

@@ConquerDriving ah I think I didn't explain it correctly, but thank you for replying anyway! I wouldn't be doing a test in a van, but getting used to the road. My family can't afford a car, so we've only got a van, I am getting professional lessons, but my instructor seemed to think it wasn't allowed to be practicing in a van instead of a car.

I have my test in the morning haha perfect timing. some last min tips! (The next morning) guys I passed with only 2 minors. Forgot that fog lights are supposed to be turned on with 100m or less visibility and I forgot to put on the handbrake when finished🙄🤦🏽‍♂️

Top 10 reasons for failing: 1. Ineffective observations at junctions 2. Incorrectly using mirrors when changing direction 3. Poor control of steering (e.g. hitting kerb when turning left) 4. Incorrect positioning when turning right at junctions 5. Not moving off safely 6. Incorrect response to traffic lights 7. Poor lane positioning 8. Incorrect response to traffic signs (e.g. STOP, Keep left, bus lanes, etc) 9. Poor vehicle control when moving off (i.e repeatedly stalling when moving off, or throughout entire test duration) 10. Lack of control (and accuracy) during reverse parking

Hi Richard, just a question, is driving through an unmarked crossroads without stopping count as a major? Also, would driving a little over the kerb when turning left count as a major? Did these 2 things yesterday and don't want to make a terrible mistake on my test next month!! Thanks.

Mounting the kerb is most likely a fail and you don't have to stop at an unmarked crossing you just have to be slow enough that it is safe and you stop safely if you need to

The reason for the stop sign being at what you call a "ridiculous" height is that it had to be mounted above the road, legally that requires that it be at least 16 feet 6 inches above the carriageway same as the minimum for an unmarked bridge, if there was a footpath for it to be above it would only need to be 11 feet up. Imposing a height restriction on a road just to put a sign lower might be seen by anyone needing access with a tall vehicle (bus, removal lorry, dustbin wagon, farm equipment, etc.) as even more ridiculous.

I failed yesterday because of low speed on countryside road and signaling too early. It was rainy and I was driving at 30-38 mph on the countryside road. I signaled 3 times early, one of them there was a short line on the sat nav, I didn't think it would be a junction, so I signaled then cancelled it and re-signaled again after passing it. The second signaling was wrong, I didn't notice it. The third one was 300yds before a roundabout but there was no junctions before it.

Even though I passed my test two months ago, I still watch your videos to remind and teach myself of how to drive well and safe. Great video! P.S Also a tip to people who are about to have their exams. I had number 9 happen to me when I totally forgot to put a car in gear on a hill before moving off. I know it may be hard, but the best thing to do is not panic and rev your car aimlessly because you won't go forward anyway! If you start rolling back, break to a stop and secure a car with a handbrake. Then take your time to see what went wrong. Once you figured it out, start again! That's what I did and it saved me a fail :D
