The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

Giannis and Jokic are definitely at the top. They’re talent is unmatched. Durant would be much higher if it weren’t for all the games missed due to injuries. He’s still a top 5 player in the game. 29 PPG on 56% shooting is deadly. Durant is one of the best. I agree on the Tatum assessment. Until the Celtics actually get over that playoff hurdle, Tatum will always be ranked in the second tier of players.

I love Dame. We went to the same college (Weber State) and I've followed his career since he was a sophomore. However, I think I'd put Jimmy Butler ahead of him. Jimmy is a far superior defender and is a better scorer than his stats would indicate. He also a dang good facilitator. Maybe it is recency bias, but the Heat have made it to the finals 2 times in the last 4 years on the back of Butler.

Assists are handed out like welfare sometimes
@QuestionEverything562
@QuestionEverything562 9 ай бұрын
Assists have become very inflated for the last 8-9 seasons now. Simply because of spacing and three point shooting, those are easy junk assists to kick out to dudes that are snipers. Ball dominant players can easily inflate their assists with kick out bail out passing. No offense to Westbrook, Harden, Dame, and some other high assists guys, but they are not truly great passers. I think Westbrook is a very good passer and Harden is a very good passer, but I don't think they are anywhere near a Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Steve Nash, or a Jason Kidd. A lot of Harden's and Westbrook's assists are cheap and really not that impressive. And Dame never makes any spectacular assists, just mostly kick outs to three point shooters.
@777Samiboy
@777Samiboy 9 ай бұрын
Also I remember back in 2000s unless it was a pass to a layup or a straight jump shot you probably weren’t getting the assist. If a jab step was used or even a quick spin off from the post then that counted as a basketball move and didn’t allow an assist. Now it seems you can pass pump fake side step then shoot and still get an assist for that.

Jokic blocks a lot of shots and changes alot of opponents shots. He also gets alot of Rebounds which stop the other teams possession and is a great form of defense. Without him denver would give up so many of put backs. He Clears the Back Board better than anyone in the NBA by far and that is a major part of defense. Cause the miss and get the rebound, try to get 25 a game. He's even made Gordon and Porter better at defense He's a top 5 Defender in the NBA. He might be the best defender in the NBA.

Only 2 problems I have with the list is AD at 7 I think that’s way too high considering his playoff inconsistency and he’s made of paper 2nd, small thing, but Jokic is not a sub par defender not that he’s not elite but he proved he can be a respectable defender this post season and I’m willing to bet he can recreate that success
@Davivd2
@Davivd2 9 ай бұрын
If you are going to say that AD is made of paper, then KD is off the list completely. KD is the most paper player in the league right now and he doesn't play defense while AD is top tier on both ends of the floor. Yes, AD is delicate. But Kevin Delicate is a one way player and shouldn't even have been on the list due to his inability to stay on the court. Last year the guy hurt himself jumping in a pre game warm up and missed a dozen games.

@@jonnyarnett So the big issue I have is the way he got injured is not the way AD gets injured. Like this year, Jimmy Butler just fell onto his leg in a pretty brutal fashion. That's gonna take even the most durable player out. It's not like AD who just lands a little funny and is out for 2 weeks. His injuries strike me more as bad luck than necessarily a trend. At the beginning of the year he was carrying a Nets squad that sucked without him (even after picking up Bridges who has been balling out) and playing some of the best defense of his career. If not for the injury and then the team falling apart and him being traded, I think he would have been in MVP talks. The big red flag I have in the rating is that Lebron and AD are ahead of KD and Booker, but did worse against the nuggets, and had a worse regular season record. That should imply that the Suns had better role players (seeing as CP3 was hurt for pretty much the whole series) but that is obviously not true. The Suns had probably the worst depth in the league, where the lakers role players were performing quite well. You can't base your opinion 100% on results, but results can be an indicator that you are not giving guys their due props.

Such as Age, defense, post season play, recently bias, clutch, ect. People would think Lebron is the #1 player in the league and have AD out the top 10 just because AD didn’t play better then jokic n help Lebron win another chip. This is a true ranking and I love your un-bias takes!

Interesting video. Agree with the top 5 for the most part. Depends on if we’re prioritizing playoffs or reg szn. If we still have AD and KD in there even with injuries I think Kawhi should be above them, although Kawhi does play a lot less so that’s fair. Would definitely argue Jimmy belongs on here but that’s also if we’re prioritizing playoff success over regular season.

I have PG in my top 20 and don't have Harden there. PG averaged almost 3 more points and 5 1/2 assists less but is a massively better defender than Harden. I also thought it may be due to games played but Harden only played 2 more games than PG. There field goal percentage is also very similar.

We have extremely similar lists, top 5 is the same but I have Booker 10th, Ja 9th, and then restructured my 6-8 as KD, Tatum, LeBron. I simply cannot justify including Anthony Davis...a top 10 talent no question, but between his lack of availability and inconsistent on-court production (one night he's looking like the MVP, other nights he's a non factor) I just can't do it. Super frustrating player, because you see so many flashes of what he could be.

Ja has zero business being a top 10 player. AD IS consistent. He's a defensive superstar and a flawed offensive player that can occasionally get hot. This is also why I have Luka at worse. 3, the only case for Giannis is his defense.

He didn't win the ring, but they were probably the 2nd best team. It's wild that AD and Bron are both ahead of him and Booker when the had more help, got swept, and are just as injury prone. His injury also wasn't a sign of frailty like AD or Kahwi injuries are either. Jimmy Butler fell on his leg in a really bad way. That's going to take even the most durable player out. Jokic is far from a one-way player. Can't lead the league in DBPM multiple times without being an elite defender. Ok, he's not a shotblocker...so? neither was Oakley, Rodman, Moses, Laimbeer, Malone, Unseld, Sikma or Cowens and all were considered elite defensive big men for the same reasons Jokic is.
