i think its good but there are better punk and post punk than unknown pleasures, and disintegration is a post punk album but too far removed from punk music to be eligible for the list

@@phrosin9109they were in some sense, they were just popular a long time before pop punk took off in the 90s so people don’t see them in that light. Same thing with descendents, most people consider them to be just a hardcore band but their sound went on to inspire the biggest pop punk albums.

It’s more proto-punk than post-punk. To be a post-punk list, there’d have to be some Joy Division, Siouxsie, PiL, etc.

Post-Punk would also probably include The Cure, Talking Heads, Bauhaus, Devo, XTC. To some degree even Nick Cave, U2, The Police, Swans, Depeche Mode, Sonic Youth count and even more modern stuff like BC,NR, black midi, Squid and King Krule

Honestly and without any kind of bad feelings: 1. Post-punk and punk are very different genres. You could say that London Calling is proto post-punk, which is not a famous term at all, but that's it. Sandinista is actually the first The Clash post-punk album. 2. Television's Marquee Moon is an art punk album, not punk, and is probably perfect. Definitely top 1 in this list. Is not post-punk, tho it did have some characteristics from it. Again, it could also be placed as something like proto post-punk. 3. If this was a list of punk and post-punk as if they were the same, even tho they take different paths in general, the top will probably only have post-punk, except for London Calling, since post-punk is definitely more complex than punk. It's actually a development. If you include art-punk, then we will have Marquee Moon, and that would be a crazy fight.

@@thewanderingsamurai1150Punk is angry, brash, full of attitude, aggressive/overdriven rock n roll that sings about politics, day to day problems, working class, 3 chords and the truth, etc. Emo musically is more emotional, hence the name. It's sang from the heart, has more pop tendencies, melodramatic, could be considered whiny, and sings about relationships, suicide, pain, 3 notes of melancholy, and things dealing with mental health. Both have their place, but are quite different musically. Listen to the Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedys to get an idea of what punk properly sounds like. Listen to My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy for emo.
