No one will ever fully agree on a list of even the top 1000 albums but I do think the fact that this list is the result of tens of thousands of music fans voting on albums they love gives it some level of weight and credibility that a list from say, Rolling Stone or Pitchfork will never have.
@xbenci Жыл бұрын
while true, most people voting here are very clearly influenced by, for example, Rolling Stone or Pitchfork. the top 40 is still terribly reeking of Rolling Stone core album picks. thankfully, as time goes by, the site seems to be getting more and more younger users, which are making genres like hip hop and electronic music get their deserved recognition on the charts
@Henryduckfan63 Жыл бұрын
@@xbenci Hip hop is pretty well represented on this list imo, it’s very loved over there. It’s really music by women they tend struggle with. I do agree there could be a bit more love for electronic music though.

@NIAAGGR567 ye look man I’m not here to criticize them or anything and at the end of the day we all know music is subjective, but yeah some of these rankings are “incorrect” music - standers wise and yeah whatever, I know it’s not the owner of this channel making these rankings and Rym is good but it has some obvious flaws
@David-bh6ce Жыл бұрын
@NIAAGGR567 technically music is subjective since ppl react to it in different ways according to the emotions and experiences they’ve had and how that music resonates to them but yeah I agree there are some aspects that are objective, although id say that philosophically speaking the more objective you try to define music the less creative it gets but that’s just some food for thought
@WhiteAssassion677 Жыл бұрын
@@David-bh6ceif music is subjective, that would mean pink floyd are on same level as lil pump, dont sound right
@David-bh6ce Жыл бұрын
@@WhiteAssassion677 and yet some ppl enjoy lil pump more than Pink Floyd, how would you explain that? Is there something wrong in that? No cuz there is no right or wrong in music. Maybe you can define that guy as having cheap music taste or whatever but you can showcase an artistic merit over anything pretty much and I’ll say it again that there is some objectivity to music but just like how you can listen to who dat boy by Tyler and love the aggression and punchiness of it other ppl won’t like those qualities and say it’s just noisy and yelling and whatever. amazing top ten! from a bias standpoint, i would've put tpab low because im not the biggest hip hop/rap fan, but i can appreciate the album and definitely see why people would call it number one. i also wouldve added some oasis somewhere in the top 30 too. but thats all just based off of my personal favourites. i love talking about music and sharing my opinions/hearing others musical opinions :)

Tpab has to be number 1 tbh. The storyline is incredible and it touches on some big problems with America, it’s just completely on another level and I’ve personally never heard anything like it.
