I once caught a Coelacanth, but I was so used to click “release” from the sea basses, I misclicked and lost the rare fish. So far, I never caught another one and when 2.0 Rolled out, I cooked as many sea basses as possible

Has anyone else experienced catching a rare fish, but the shadow is a lot smaller than it normally would be? Sometimes it's obvious you are looking at a coelacanth shadow, but other times I've noticed they can be smaller.

Fun fact barreleyes can catch you off guard I was playing once not thinking to much about it and I caught it with no bait

I'd hardly call the Great White rare, personally. Not only did I catch the Great White Shark easily, I caught many more after the first while looking for the other finned fish over the course of June.

The Barreleye is by far the most annoying one to get. While Manu fishes are Rare, the baits exploit helps a lot to get every possible rare fish, but for the Barreleye that's impossible to do, because even if you use a bait, the small fish that appears could easely be yet another Mackerel fish, so by crafting baits you only waste more time. The only thing you can do is keeping fishing small fishes at night with the hope that you will eventually get one. I've caught about 300 small fishes so far, and still no Barreleye.... right now, it's the only creature accessible only in November and/or December (I got the game last month) that I haven't caught yet...

The best time to try fish for barraleye is December because the only other small sea fish is the horse mackerel

I got serious into catching fish once June started, at once it was 4 : 00 when it was the 1st of June, I decided to use some bait, but there was nothing new, no sharks, but about a minute later, I caught a shark without bait. Later, I decided to try to catch every single fish (atleast for the first time) without bait. It's gone very smoothly. I have no fish to catch that are new, I caught all the fish in July, and July just started. I surprisingly had the hardest time with the char, an uncommon fish. UNCOMMON. Well, I guess I'll have to wait until August to see if I'll get any trouble with a fish.

I kid you not when I say I randomly encountered a barreleye at like 1 in the morning. Wasn't even looking for it... I think the more you want something in game, the less you are to get it.

My golden trout luck is insane I already got it like three times naturally spawned. Each time it’s really unexpected. However Stringfish and Oarfish are giving me trouble. Also saddled bichir is impossible to catch.

4:46 I was watching this video for curiosity since I have to find 2 fishes more to complete the whole critterpedia of the fishes 🐟🙂, and it turns out that the stringfish is one of the fishes that I have to find 😮😂… In one side I knew that one of them was in a clifftop of a river since the fishes around of that empty spot were founded in the clifftop of the river 😮, so I imagined that the fish left was found in the same place 😅…

Dorado,Arapaima,Arowana,Great White Shark,Stringfish and Coelacanth Are Very EEAASY to catch to me. Especially Stringfish.I think I caught almost about 20 of Stringfish already.
