Some of the links above are to products I use or have used at some point and feel they are good enough to share with you. Some of these links may be affiliate links where I would receive compensation if you were to purchase them. The money earned from these affiliate links goes into making videos, just like this one. Keep in mind, I only recommend products that I’ve used and I believe will help others be successful with keeping a saltwater aquarium. Thank you for your support and Happy Reefing!

An important note about seastars to consider. Keep you salinity consistent between 1.023-1.025. They do not like fluctuations

Yeah the Pom Pom crabs are really stunning. They wave their anemones in a crazy way! And they can split them if one has died or was lost. Perfect and a must for a nano tank!

I may look into the Hermit crab. He’s kinda cute plus he does some clean up 😀 I really wanted an electric flame scallop!! I saw one at my lfs, but I was worried I wouldn’t be able to meet all its needs so I didn’t get it. Maybe in the future. Thanks for the video. Your knowledge always helps and then I do more research to see if I can properly care for something you may have mentioned 😀

I have a blood red fire shrimp in my 12g long. He’s always in his cave but you can still see him and he scuttles around the tank when I turn the pumps off for feeding.

Love your videos. I just moved north of Bangor and am going to be starting a reef tank next year. I was wondering if you could do a video for tips and tricks for us cold weather people. I am especially having power outage problems and am already looking at generators. Any info would be great.

Before getting any invert is very important to do your own research and have an established tank. Sand Sifting Starfish require a large tank (minimal 75gl) and well established sand bed. They continually eat but can starve/die if placed in a new tank (less than 18 months) Scallops are difficult to keep longer than a few months. Require to placed in a tank directly designed for them.

Hello! I am having a major algae and cyno problem I am doing weekly water changes now to try and beat it and I also bought some turbos and nassarius snails, I think the outbreak is due to neglection over lock down as I couldn't access my lfs to buy water as often as I should have. What can you suggest? Whether it be dosing something or a get your hands dirty type of thing. Thanks Your fellow reefer Ollie :)
@MadHattersReef
@MadHattersReef 3 жыл бұрын
For cyanobacteria check and remove silicates from your water. There is a good chance its being introduced by your source water and if you're doing weekly water changes you're just fueling the fire. If you're not using a RO/DI get one and if you are they Id change out your pre-filters and and one that deals with silicates.

Can I have skunk and fire shrimp together in my 30 gallon tank? What are their behaviour to each other? Some sources mentioned they are not agressive to each other but some other sources mentions the otherwise, kinda confused

In my experience the Hermit crab. is not a GO if you have snails in your tank, you have to decide witch one you want as your clean up crue.....The Hermit Crab will eat your snails and their offspring's

Dude don't recommend people getting a flame scallop, you've never kept one alive, no one ever has kept one alive for longer than a couple of months. It's cruel they even sell them, they just don't belong in an aquarium.
