I remember that after that episode fan's were screaming for the show to be canceled. Many had stopped watching. I was seriously considering to no longer watch Family Guy when "the leak" happened. That Brian was gonna be somehow brought back.

Kenny's death in South park is sad and teaches life lessons. Side note splinter's death from tmnt was painful. Who else gave the turtles courage to fight for honor and respect just saying.

Pops’ death will forever be sad for many reasons. I remember the show being here when I was 11 and it ended when I was a junior in high school with Pops dying was just so unexpected for an ending. Regular Show was amazing and Pops dying feels bittersweet. And hearing him say “Jolly good show” in the final line was just so...🤧🤧🤧🤧

They never even mentioned Zane’s death in Ninjago... though it wasn’t permanent it was still really sad to see the flashbacks, his sacrifice and the funeral in season 3... it broke everyone in the fandom even if you didn’t have Zane as a favorite character

Solomon Grundy's death in JLU always made me cry. It was because this depiction of Grundy always had a childlike innocence to him, and just made his death all the more of a tear jerker. Especially when Grundy comes to realize he's dying by saying: "Grundy thinks he is going away now".

Kanan's death should've been more than honorable mention. Alongside Fives from TCW. Rick and Morty death really doesn't count as sad. It's just Morty who got messed up as the audience, for the later it set the tone for the show. Nothing more touching or sad about it. Also Big Henry from Gravity Falls?!? The Objective Geek I like when Bane broke his back. It’s a classic scene we can all picture in our heads and we haven’t seen the Dark Knight defeated in such a manner before.

They probably did it because if Fry decided to revive him it would be awkward because there would be a new character in the middle of series and people would act different about it. If that was an episode in like season 2 for example, Fry probably would’ve probably revived him.

how can it be higher than brians? it was way more sad and seeing how stewie was actually destroyed by this makes it horrible the fact that this comedy serie always makes jokes at every moment spend an intire episode with almost no jokes makes this death deserve its spot on this list but ya know everyones opion is different i just love brian(i mean old brian brian became a dick in the later seasons)

The only reason Brian’s death was sad cuz they brought him back a couple episodes later! Manipulating the audience into feeling sorry when the character was awful. It would have been more impactful if he stayed dead. Also Pops should have been higher as many people cared about him and his sacrifice! Seymour’s death was heartbreaking!! I cried on that one!

Matthew Rickard No, this is leverage. It was planned from the beginning. A single Family Guy episode takes about 6 months to make, believe it or not. And even if it didn't, generally a whole season of a cartoon is made before the first episode even airs. What I'm saying is that I'm absolutely positive Christmas Guy was planned and made before Life of Brian aired.

You forgot the ending of The World of David the Gnome! The scene where David and his wife saying goodbye to each other before they die and become part of nature. It's so heartbreaking, it makes me cry and everyone in their 30's and 20s cry so much

who didn't cry when Regular show ended, it was a beloved series and the ending was so real and heartbreaking. Someone as sweet as pops was doing something so heartfelt and tragic was the complete opposite of the character we had come to know

Amen to Dinobot from Beast Wars. The series wasn't the same without him. He had a deep character and twisted path, but he stuck to his code of honor. Dinobot went down fighting every Predicon single handed and died a heroes death fitting a warrior of his caliber. That final fight against Megatron and striking him with a improvised hammer made from a branch and a rock... BOSS MOVE.

I think Simpsons was ahead of it's time and so was South Park.... That being said there are way way way better cartoons now that just surpass both those shows. And love it or not family guy is trash.

Kenny's death does make me at least feel a tear coming. Stan, Kyle, and Cartman were only 8 - 9 at the time, and nobody (but Cartman) knew that he always died. and Stan feels too sad for Kenny that he can't even see him in the hospital, and when he does, it's too late.

I actually know why Kenny's semi-permanent death occurred like that. Comedy Central was trying to find a way to get Butters Stoch upgraded to the main cast. They originally wanted to kill off Kyle because he and Stan look similar to each other. But they eventually changed their minds and aimed their sights at Kenny!
