i literally never even felt a connection, not even a spark, when those words were spoken it’s probably because the movie is cringeworthy and should’ve been better.

Honestly Bing Bong’s death makes me cry the hardest because it’s not just a lovable character dying, but him fading from Riley’s memory symbolizes her growing up and completely losing that child part in her, something we all go through at one point. It symbolized our childhood innocence being let go to make room for more personal growth. The fact that he says “take her to the moon for me” makes it even deeper because it makes you think about all your little childish dreams you let go of as well. It wasn’t just the death of a character, it was the death of childhood itself and stood for the phase we go through. That whole movie is so deep and beautiful and so so nostalgic. I’ll never relate to any character death as much as that one because it just really hits me in the feels to look back and realize exactly when you left that behind without realizing.

I was 6 when I saw the film in theatres. I closed my eyes for most of Ray's death because it just seemed too sad for me. I didn't cry, but 10 years later, that scene still not only pulls on my heartstrings, but straight-up yanks them.

Out of all the deaths that impacted me on this list, Mufasa's death broke me the most. Not only because he died, it was because he reminded me of my Grandpa, who always gave me life lessons. He had fun with his family and always went on adventures. Sadly, he died on 2017. And watching The Lion King on theatres one year after made me tear up because Mufasa reminded me of the man i once followed

Aqsa Tahir it wasn’t really that sad in the remake, it felt more like a rushed action scene than a sad scene. The 1994 version still reigns supreme.

There's great purpose in Carl and Ellie's montage. It makes clear WHY Carl is a "grumpy old man". He's heartbroken and spending the end of his life without the love of his life. The house is all he has to hold onto. Him finding a way to travel is a way of honoring her and bringing life back to him. It gives him humanity and understanding.

I'd swap 2 and 1. Mufasa's death is so much more resonating due to how they build him up with time and pacing. He's the perfect father figure: A bold leader, scolding teacher when necessary, but always warm at his core. That's why it hurts so much when he's gone.

Mufasa should be be 1, Ellie's death was pretty sad but at least she died peacefully in her old age with her husband by her side, Mufasa was brutally killed by his brother at the prime of his health and got trampled by hundreds of wildebeest. What can be sadder than that?

How did Mufasa's scene only make the #2 spot? That was the saddest scene ever, especially when you consider that it practically traumatized so many young people. I don't think there's a single person today who has seen the Lion King when it first came out that doesn't remember that horrific scene

Nope. Mufasa’s death was the saddest. I wasn’t able to sleep every time I remembered it as a child. And used to tear every time I remembered the scene for a whole week after watching it. RIP mufasa

Risky. Well everyone is affected differently, and the age at which you watched each movie matters. I, for example, I watched the lion king at 6. While I watched UP at 12. So what happens in childhood has a deeper effect on you

10 -I love Brother Bear. Sitka’s demise made me cry on the inside 9 -That shook me to the core when I was little 8 -I cried a little but it was sweet to see her again 7 -When I was a kid, I was horrified and heartbroken 6 -Broke my heart 5 -I was the only one that cried in theaters. Hate to brag but this pulled at my heartstrings 4 -When I saw this in theaters, I didn’t want him to pass away but it was sweet for him to be with his love 3 -As I remember when I was a kid, I didn’t cry loud, it was my mom 2 -This one is heartbreaking for sure. I even said my first bad word at that time 1 -I can see why this tops number one. Ever since 2009, it was the talked about tragic scene of them all. Only thing is, I cried on the inside when my heart slowly broke

Brother bear is, to this day, one of my absolute favorite movies. Sidka’s death made me cry so much, and when we find out that Kenai killed Koda’s mom, and when Denahi tries to kill kenai, no knowing it’s his brother, like seeing how sad and heart broken he’s been. Brother bear was so amazing

Po Omega meh it was a good sacrifice scene and all but it doesn’t compare to the level of emotional impact that Mufasa’s death had. Mufasa’s death taught little kids that their dads aren’t the invincible superheroes we always thought they were.

7:08 Bambis mom Something that would have probably put her on the gold stand that you didn't mention: In a some sort of deleted scene the animators actually drew bambi (sry if I'm spelling the name wrong) turning around after the other Deer said she died, running over to the place they were and finding his mother's dead corps on the ground where a hunter came along and started to drag her corps when he saw bambi. He had a small grin that melted into a frown and then cut off his mother's ear threw it at bambi yelling "Take this young one and flee before I change my mind and put you two together."
