While I love all these moments, I think the one that hit me hardest was when David told Stevie he was engaged. Her reaction showed so much honest love and happiness for David and Patrick, but also the realization that David was moving on and she wasn't. I think that Emily Hampshire was amazing in that scene. Also, to find that Patrick had gone to Stevie for her blessing just was the candle on the cake.

@@hafsamumtaz1 That Stevie was stuck in the same town that she grew up it, stuck in the same job that she had before she met David. David found great love and was getting married and she wasn't. I literally cried through Stevie's entire solo in Cabaret, TWICE. Being a huge theatre nerd, seeing a normally reserved person blossom into a performer is going to punch me in the feels every time. And come on, the way the song perfectly encompassed everything that was going on in her real life...all the raw emotion coming out word by word...it was amazing! Even the little moments of her looking back at Moira for reassurance and David/Johnny's faces throughout the song...and of course David proudly exclaiming "That's my friend!" to everyone around him during the applause ; what more can you ask for with good character development??

I was sad that Alexis and Ted couldn't make it work in the end. However, that was the beauty of the show: it showed that sometimes it works out (i.e., David and Patrick), and sometimes, it doesn't, just like real life. This show was so well done! ❤️👍🏻👏🏻
@Lupin788
@Lupin788 3 жыл бұрын
I choose to believe the writers left open the possibility of Alexis and Ted getting back together in the future. Although they knew they loved each other, they also realized they weren't at the right stage in their lives to be together permanently. In season 5, Patrick wondered how things would have turned out if he and David had met in high school. David replied that they met at just the right time. If this show comes back in the form of a movie, I hope they revisit the Alexis & Ted relationship. Maybe Ted gets inadvertently caught up in some international intrigue and Alexis has to use all her skills and contacts as a global traveler to rescue him. ;1

About 20 years ago or maybe 30... I brought a musical to a choir I sang with - and suggested quite strongly that it was worth doing. i wasn't going to be singing in it, or directing or anything important but over the years I think i had earned the right to be heard. So they listened, and we talked about it and the decision was made to go with it. The musical was "Rent" - a very potent setting of "La Boheme", set in New York's "gay village" at the height of the AIDS epidemic. the relationship between David and Patrick brought back so much of what "we" were going through at that point... I like to think that Rent helped pave the way for shows like this episode, that loving, regardless of who you love, is the most important thing. THank you for this.

Simply The Best played on the radio the other day and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I pictured both Patrick's and David's performances. That song will never be the same for me ever again LOL!

Alexis and Twyla’s friendship was one that I really loved and when Alexis asked Twyla to come and visit her, that made me cry quite a bit. It just shows how much Alexis values their friendship.

While I am late to this party. I just got into watching all the episodes. And I am enjoying them. But the David/Patrick storyline was done so well and not forced. But in general seeing the characters grow and change for the better was done well.

Two of my favorite happy cry moments were: 1) When they're at the Hawaiian themed party and Johnny mentions David being pansexual. Roland Schitt thinks it has to do with a cookware fetish (🤣), but then he very lucidly says - while he STOPS EATING (big moment for him) - that *we need to allow our kids to love who they love.* Then he says, "Who said that?" 🤗🤗🤗 2) When David says he loves Patrick and then sits in his lap. Something about that made my heart sing because movies and TV usually act like they can't show beautiful, intimate moments (non-sexual) between men. It was exactly what a woman might do with her man and *it's about time ALL relationships are given the freedom to be expressed in loving ways.*

There are shows I go to reset when life gets overwhelming. When I miss my dad it is West Wing. In the Winter when I miss baseball it is a league of their own. Elf after Thanksgiving and now thanks to the constant anxiety of Covid we found Schitts Creek. What a combination of joy, love, and the perfect tonic to brighten any days. Thank you.

Well, its a good list, but you missed my two favourite scenes in the whole series. You actually showed a clip of the scene at the beginning of the video where Johnny defends Schitt's Creek to his erstwhile friends. That was the scene that made me love the show, can't believe it didn't make the list. And the scene in the penultimate episode where David tearfully tells Stevie that he wants to go back to New York to show everyone that he succeeded, and Stevie tearfully asking him to stay in Schitt's Creek, and that he had nothing to prove. Such a moving scene!

People might adore David & Stevie relationship but we can't miss how sweet is Johnny & Stevie duo. like a proper father & daughter. And you can actually feel it that Stevie is one of the family member when the duo gets closer for the motel. The way Stevie sees Johnny is so so adorable like you know she didn't have a good father figure growing up. To finally relying on a man, platonically gave that character a wholesome one. Whoever wrote about Stevie's development was the real MVP. Not only they are being discreet about it, but enough to make a full grown man to cry & love Stevie as an underrated character in a storm such as Schitt's Creek was. A good storm.

The best momemt is when Stevie asks David (in the 2nd last episode) what is it about New York that he wants to leave all he has in Schitt's Creek, and he says he wants to show his 'friends' that he is not a joke and that he won.. and Stevie replies "Look at this house! You HAVE won!".. thats the most heartfelt happy cry moment for me
