Man, I was not expecting this, definitely the highlight of my day. Personally, I always thought all those 4+ Motorcycles seem like reskins of each other for different themes (Ninjago, Marvel, and DC respectively) with one hero with the bike chasing a villain with a small side build included. Keep up the great work!

The original line of Jurassic World sets had a lot in common with Dino. The T-Rex trapper is similar to the triceratops trapper and the Indominus Rex breakout is a lot like the Dino HQ

The 2012 Batcave had the Bane’s Mole Machine, which is somewhat similar to that power miner vehicle. Moreover, in the Lego Batman 2 Video Game, Bane’s Mole Machine is more modeled on the power miner vehicle than the one from the Batcave set.

Besides the push to drill mechanism, Cole's Earth driller and the thunder driller are nothing alike. You said they were "both big chunky drillers you push to drill" and yet thats not true. I think the bane driller from the 2012 batcave looks more similar (yet smaller) to the thunder driller even though it lacks the push to drill function. Both versions of coles earth driller are not chunky with the og being barely decorated on the side with any design techniques. While I can see where you are coming from with the idea, I do not think it is a substantial enough point to be like "two sets share the same feature so it must be a secret remake".. because that can go for alot of themes and their sets.

Another remake sorta thing that’s probably more obvious is the Lego Movie Maker Kit with the cardboard backdrop from the Lego Batman Movie got remade twice (once for The Lego Ninjago Movie and then a second time for The Lego Movie 2)

I don't think wanting a small set with lots of minifigs is a super hot take... but I would love a stealth remake of the Ninjago Gamers market. 9 figures for less than 30 dollars and a ton of accessories! Maybe that set was a stealth remake (or at least a reference) to the classic castle and space minifig packs.

I'd almost count Barracuda Bay as before release everyone expected Ideas to do the island build only was later revealed to be a direct remake of the Barracuda ship from the earlier pirates theme. Just an observation as the 2 in one option is fantastic and gives two excellent ways of displaying the set. As a Technic builder a lot of the larger cars are very similarly built in there infrastructure/functions however the line is finally rectifying this by developing more in between scale models allowing for denser/unique builds. As always great job on the list/research.

This was fun to see how Lego could make similar sets by just tweaking one or two things and making them better or worse or just the same with a new coat of paint.

The thunder driller also looks a lot like Bane’s mole machine from Lego Batman 2 the video game. Not the tie-in set from 2012 but rather the video game. Not a 100% remake but very similar construction with shared pieces and build structure such as the drill, side exhaust, open back, and lights. With only really major difference really big the color and the inclusion of tracks rather than wheels.

I've actually got the original Lego Construction set when I got into Lego, and surprisingly, out of all the construction from that set, the crane is still in tact while the dump truck and conveyer belt are stored away and broken up in my lego boxes. But you can imagine how hyped I was about the Toy Story 3 trash compactor when I found out about it. I really wish I got that set back then because of how much of a deluxe version of the construction set it looked and felt like.

That City construction site was one of my first Lego sets, with the construction worker driving the crane and the construction worker with blue sleeves being main characters of my stories when I wad younger. Never connected it to the Toy Story set, though.

@@just2good actually I may be remembering it wrong now, because there was also that other Spider Man set that had the motorcycle with a crawler on it that came out around the same time. I think it was the crawler combination of all the crawlers at once that you didn’t like, and I don’t blame you lol. There was some sort of crawler frustration though, definitely remember that 😂 Edit- also all the spider man mechs too 😆

The black widow helicopter is basically a redesign of two lego city helicopters, one that comes with a submarine and one that's just a police vehicle

3:02 The Thunder Driller technically got a second remake in DC of all places, (though a bit less impressive.) The 2016 Mighty Micro for Bane featured a very familiar looking vehicle, down to the color-scheme. I love little easter eggs like that.

These are for the most part good. What probably happened is the designers got inspired from the original set, but just didn't change their set enough

For #10 the Lego ninjago tournament of elements lava falls could be a improved remake of those two sets. It has the same play feature.

The Nexo Knights helicopter also reminds me of the Avatar helicopter conceptually, both of them have similar engines and deploy a mech (although the Avatar sets of both wouldn’t count as they’re separate and there’s no AMP Suit-dropping play feature).

5:10 one thing I noticed about another Lego chima set is the Laval’s Royal Fighter set has a surprisingly similar design to the lego Exo-force Mobile defense tank set. They both have four rubber treads: two at the front and two at the back. They both have an adjustable cannon in the center and they also have two hero characters for the vehicle. Additionally both sets come from original lego themes of the action/adventure genre.

I have almost every Elves set, though I missed like 3 or so (the hot air balloon and the pegasus chariot which were some of the ones I wanted most, but I unfortunately never saw them once in stores and couldn't buy online back then

Really interesting video! Especially since it’s concept is something I haven’t really thought about before. I did know about the last 2 sets being near identical tho, also I’ve heard it said that the 2020 Monkie Kid’s Cloud Jet set is the 3rd version, which is funnily enough, another set from an original tv show action theme 😅

I like to say that The lego toy story trash Compactor escape is based is a set that almost spoiled the Film and Also The scene that made us Cry as we thought they almost Perished in the flames but no.

People always forget about the Mars sets with the air-pumps & tubes. Definitely an interesting play feature compared to the basic Lego system.

The avengers hulk helicopter rescue is basically a remake of the berserker bomber because you can drop the hulk where as in the berserker bomber it's a mech instead. The leviathan in the avengers set even has a small resemblance to the condrai copter attack.

People don't realize how often LEGO remakes their own sets. Sometimes it makes sense to update a set but sometimes it feels like LEGO just cannot get over themselves. They'll make questionable choices like the crocodile locomotive and it's like why would they choose that set, oh it's a tribute to themselves.

. This is basicly - Same features or same looking sets list. There are a LOT MORE of sets like this. Ultra Agents Mission HQ is basicly more pumped up version of any other mobile command center from city xD or 7245 and 7286 Police cars or even the caravan juniors set tht are basicly same sets with some slight changes (which ios funny because the friends is worse one xD) Or even 60058 and 60327 that have BASICLY same cars! The real HIDDEN REMAKE I know about is The Heartlake restaurant that was based on old Breezeway Café from town! But thank you for including me

Well to be fair it costs a absolute ton to introduce new moulds with Lego so I understand the cost saving to redo previous sets and rebrand however - increase in price and mashing them to be “new sets” without changing really anything is pretty bad. I guess being the biggest plastics manufacturer and one of the biggest toy companies in the entire world you can do this and people will still buy it 😅

Lego should do a special kind of lego theme, one called Lego Legacies or Lego Legends, where they basically just do remakes of lego sets from previous themes. Like Lego Legends of Chima, Lego Elves, and Lego Nexo Knights. I mean, They've done that kind of thing with the Lego Star Wars, Lego Ninjago, and even Lego Harry Potter.
