Eye AF on the new 1.4 firmware is incredible, it rarely misses. Make sure your firmware is up to date.

Hi, nice point of view. I agree with some of the things, and I found some of the features useful for me in addition to what you've said. 1. AF-ON - I use it to switch between servo and one shot. Whenever I need to switch to one shot I can easily do so by just pressing that button. Situations: landscapes, architecture, steady subjects 2. Button * - to switch between face+eye tracking and one point. When objects are moving quickly I don't need to waste my time but choosing and repositioning my AF point. In face detection mode the point tracks a subject I chose. 3. Multi-function slide bar - ISO: - pressing on left side - Auto ISO - pressing on right side - ISO 100 - sliding - adjust ISO NOTE: this works perfectly when AE lock time is 2 seconds or shorter, so this also needs to be adjusted. By using the EVF of the life-view on the back screen you can easily adjust exposure compensation so AE lock is less important nowadays. 4. I don't shoot videos, so I set the video recording start button to DOF preview 5. M-Fn button - I customized and excluded what I don't need there. I left only Shutter type (1 shot, burst), image preset (auto, standard, and uploaded some custom types like studio portraits, clear for dramatic landscapes), and metering mode. This allows me to switch between those adjustments immediately. 6. Custom menu - I included several options to speed up access to them: - battery info - format card (I do formatting before each shooting to check if the card is fine. If during formatting I see low speed or any error - it's better to change the card to save nerves when something goes wrong during the photo shoot) - silent mode - and many Others Thanks for your video!

regarding single vs servo. In low light the DPAF is significantly better in single mode.

You can choose which eye you want to focus by pressing "left" on the d pad.

A big one for me: select a movie mode, then go into the menu to Set Up page 4. There's a shutter button function option. I set full-press to start/stop movie recording. So much more intuitive than the movie button on top of the camera.

I'm always on Eye-AF. I've taken at-least 10,000 shots now, Eye AF Never missed for me. Especially when you've Touch & Drag AF enabled. You can always drag focus on to your subject. Especially with 1.6 firmware, its alot better.

when you beep the person that you are photographing knows that it's time for a new pose..... I shoot fashion and every model knows that beep means strike a new pose ......also good for headshots ......

I was able to make it mirror on the vedio mode , but during photo mode, the cam screen is off , and nor working. How can I make both my cam screen together with my LCD screen work together while mirroring .??? Well done.

You can adjust the audio levels with the touch bar while you are recording (as long as the level set to manual instead auto) But yes, three separate functions depending the mode make it way more useful. One for AF, when it switches single point and eye-tracking, one for MF (or adapted old lenses) where it magnifies and for adjusting audio levels in video. It's a shame that after the promised firmware update, they probably won't any more functionality.

Backbutton-Focus gives no benefit for focus hunting. You are using the same camera and lense combination after all.
