High School DxD is my top pick not just for the fanservice, but also the lore, the storytelling, and the abundance of memorable characters. One moment you’re busting your gut laughing, the next you’re left speechless by the insanely well-animated fight scenes. And of course, it knows when best to tug the heartstrings and make you cry.

How I'd fix it: have femboy vampire Gasper join his harem, too. The show seriously went all "no-homo or bisexuality" on the main lead. I would have respected the show A LOT more of they did that, but nope, they gave him a girlfriend out of nowhere DESPITE the fact when the protagonist died, he was the one most shaken at his death, if I recall correctly. Oh, and fuck his "you gotta be more manly" storyline that reeked of toxic masculinity.

I've heard people say that that DxD is all ecchi no plot. But, the fact that Isseis's very first girlfriend is still an important plot point 3 seasons later is brilliant storytelling and continuity.

Hell, even the light novels it's based on have some pretty heavy story beats. So yeah, it absolutely strikes a balance between fanservice and a story that draws you in.

High School DxD, Sekirei, World's End Harem have the best stories. Harem anime is my 2nd favorite genre, not just because I'm jealous of the MC's but because they usually have such good plots and lore. I watch Harem whenever I run out of new stuff to watch. It keeps me interested in anime

Ayeka and Sasami are his great-aunties (Grandpa’s younger half-sisters) Washu and by extension Ryoko also share ancestry with him Mihoshi apparently is a descendant of Washu’s somehow The only one I’m still unsure of is Kiyone … c’mon I like him but Tenchi is NOT that good looking! Just EWW!!! 😖😖😖

The best harem of all time is _Vandread_ . If you haven't seen it, it's actually really good. It's a space harem where men and women live on different planets and are at war with each other. Long story short, 3 young men are stuck on an all-women pirate ship. Comedy, mecha fights, and a surprising amount of drama ensue.

How can you not list Ranma 1/2? Ranma has four main love interests and he’s officially engaged to three of them thanks to his father’s meddling. Because of his curse of turning female when in contact with cold water he’s also had men pursuing him-one of which is Kuno, the brother of one of his female love interests. Additionally, there’s a reverse harem as his main fiancé, Akane, had a few love interests (mainly Kuno and Ryoga) and used to have to deal with every boy in the school pursuing her every morning.

Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World has another interesting facet, in that the MC gets a class that makes him stronger based on his harem. Peter Grill's harem want him to father their child, not bear their child. Though that would make it crazier. I agree with other posts that Ranma 1/2 should be on the list. The species swapping hijinks and martial arts action, along with its classic status make it a top pick. To-Love-Ru should be in the list for the main character's legendary lucky pervert ability. Invaders of the Rokujouma!? is also interesting because of the premise that all the characters are after a tiny apartment for various reasons, and the harem members are not a focused genre; there's a ghost, a magical girl, an alien princess, and more.

okay, I'm going to speak for everyone here and say High School DxD should be higher, because if you watched the censored version you missed out on a lot of good things, also nearly every harem Anime on this list doesn't even hold a candle to High School DxD and how NOT to Summon a Demon Lord either and I do mean on Story wise and such, not mention both shows should be held higher then their spots in this list. Also, Monster Musume was one great Harem Anime if you watched the uncensored version you got better story and all the jokes unlike the censored version they had to change a number of jokes around to make it more non-adult theme just so that it can be watched by the teens in Japan and on CunrchyRoll too

I have to say one of my favorite harem animes is the tenchi series it was one on my first oldschool animes and the plot was so crazy from space/time travel to alien warz and proto star wars like beam swords is a must watch i would start i didn't think tne watch order matter that much beacuse I watch it in reverse but good seris.

Tbh The harm in labyrinth anime. Is fairly good in some aspects, it's strategic and has cool game moments. But at the halfway point it's just dungeons and bang in the bed.
