The UNSC Infitity was specifically built to be humanity's cradle if the Covenant ever did take Earth, so I'm not surprised she made it on this list

The UNSC infinity was a desperate last measure that humanity took in order to ensure survival. It was literally, Noah's ark armed with guns and 16ft thick titanium armor.

Honorable mention: A *_Guild Highliner_* from the Dune series. Massive enough to transport a entire planet's population, it also had the ultimate safety system in that it could avoid danger through prescience - so it would avoid all hazards. And since it moves by folding space, travel time isn't an issue either.

#8 The *Death Star* has one other advantage… it can _sterilize_ contaminated planets that are infected with the disease. Worried about infected people getting offworld in their own ships and spreading the plague, maybe even to you - the Death Star has a solution for that.

I would say that the "titan" from Titan A.E would be the best as let's face it, it can create a new planet for you to inhabit

The ship is a Seed ship capable of housing millions of human, self sustainable, designed to last an undetermined amount of time, have lots of firepower (itself and lots of battleships), have it's own factory, big enough to even have a sea, with it's cottage, and many more. the only problem is, this ship doesn't have any FTL capabilities

Not a Stargate fan huh? Lol. The city ship Atlantis or starship Destiny are good candidates for this list. The latter is smaller but powered by the stars themselves. 👍

I was thinking the Avalon from Passengers. It didn't have much anti-xeno capabilities, but could transport 5000 civilians in comfort and had defensive systems to defend against space, which I'm sure could be reconfigured into a battle ready version if necessary

Last time I was this early, the Phalanx was still in construction and the Terran Supercarriers hadn't reached the Koprulu Sector.

No mention of Nauvoo from expanse, wich would (unlike Roci) have real chance for crossing the empty space and get to another system. If the lack of armament is a problem, simply hook on the docking ring few warships, and add a drydock for those warships, in case you would need more. Btw, because Phalanx (from wh40k) serves as fortress monastery for Imperial fists chapter and its whole fleet of other warships, it is certain it does have some drydocks (and extremely numerous defence fleet) too. We have no proof, that on death star were any amenities for civilians, less so for colonists.

The only realistic choices for me were: UNSC infinity, fortress monastery phalanx. The death star is interesting choice but without shields and some emperor palpatine still being alive... Yeah no thanks. There is one you forgot to mention... Atlantis class city-ship, or if I have to be more humble Destiny from Stargate. Atlantis coz of its size and technology and Destiny coz it can be powered by stars, which is not only ''green'' but also it would be very easy to find fuel.

The Hyperion from ME Andromeda. Has sleeper cells etc and a fighter wing. Would put it at around 6-8 on the list.

You forgot to mention that the UNSC Infinity is capable of storing 10 Strident class frigates in its under belly. The type of ship is way more capable of defending itself. I would have put the Star Trek ship on #2 due to the fact that the ship has to split into two. While the UNSC Infinity can defend itself way more better because it basically 10 support ships under its belly that it can deploy if it comes under attack. And In all honestly those ships could be used for evacuation purposes as well from the ship. Those 10 ships could also be used as transport ships as well. The UNSC Infinity is also crewed by the UNSCs finest meaning that humanity would be very well defended. For me personally I don’t think you put much effort in the UNSC Infinity. The UNSC Infinity was to be a mobile colony ship Incase of societal Collapse during the Human Covenant war. I really love your videos but I wish you did put a litter more effort in the UNSC Infinity because it’s actually the a ship designed for humans to live on. I agree that the Star Trek ship is good for luxury and can defend itself very well but it doesn’t come close to the UNSC Infinity capabilities. @Generation Films

And again, you completely ignore the SDF Macross from the 1980's TV series (and movies) by the same name. Carried 50,000 civilians in comfort equal to the Galaxy Class, including holo-deck like technology, could destroy entire fleets of ships with a single blast of its main cannon, carried hundreds of starfighters and ground attack mecha, was capable of making planetfall for easy colonist loading/unloading, artificial gravity, the ability to fold space for FTL travel, and could be fought by a single crew member, not just flown by one person, but actually engage in combat effectively with only a single person on board, and in one instance, without any crew at all.

ok, you forgot some good ones... the Red Dwarf class mining vessels would work great, even the starbug and midget ships would be serviceable to get people onboard them.. and they can mine an astroid for fuel/etc as they fly... so....bonus!!! oh, peace keeper ships from farscape the command ship for example would have no problem carrying a shitload of people and other ships... i would list more but... too many keep popping into my head... hehe..

YOOOOOOOO the Mercury class AND Terran Battlecruisers in one video? This is incredibly blessed But straight up, these two are fantastic ships and are pretty much perfect when accompanied with an auxiliary fleet Terran Battlecruisers, besides being capable warships, are also command vessels / amphibious assault ships. Need a ground team planetside? Orbitally drop in command centers, factories, supply depots and you basically have a fully functioning FOB in like an hour, less even. Mining operations are no biggie and will help a great lot for self-sustainment. The best part in all of this is that most Terran structures can lift off, so if you have to evacuate, your Factories and Command Center can just yeet out of the planet and return to the Battlecruiser, thus you dont lose a lot when your position is overrun. The Mercury may not have the flexibility and utility of a Terran Battlecruiser, but it's on-board manufacturing capabalities allows it to keep pumping out fighters / Vipers and ammunition so long as they have the resources. Combine the two together (with a auxiliaries), and you basically have the perfect, self sustaining fleet

Atlantis is where I would want to be on.

One that I would add to this list is the Titan from Titan AE. Not for evacuation of the populace,, but to terraform a new Earth complete with plant and animal life. If you're going to evacuate Earth, it would be nice to have a place to go to and settle in a short period of time without having to wander he galaxy looking for a new home.

What about the Peacekeeper command carriers of Farscape? They're huge. Crew compliment of 50,000 with enough space to comfortably house 3 times as many in passengers.

From a practical standpoint if it wasn't for the "what's energy efficiency" replicator technology, the UNSC Infinity probably is the best on the list, even with it, it probably isn't that far off, or may even be ahead of the Galaxy class, IMO. while not part of standard load out, if needs be the Infinity is large enough to be used as a mobile shipyard, and already has a lot of the requisite infrastructure, as it would have to have to support the frigates that are part of its standard compliment, to use it as a shipyard you would have to sacrifice much of that extra large hangar space but you gain the ability to expand on the move, which none of the more mobile (for their universe) candidates on this list can really support. It isn't enough to merely evacuate, if you cant effectively rebuild, you are only delaying the inevitable, no ship is immortal and without the ability to expand your population is limited to just what can be supported on the ship.

*Rama*, from the book series of the sane name. Self contained bio ship, defensive abilities that can stop multiple simultaneous nukes, has it's own ecosystem and biological-robot crew. FTL and intelligent conventional space flight. *Aurora*, the Passengers, literally a giant ship for the purpose of travelling through deep space. Cryogenic hibernation pods, most of the ship runs without needing crew. *Deepwater Black*, from the book series of the same name. Built to be able to be crewed by SIX people or less. Cloning banks take up most of the ship, so when they make it back to Earth, following a pandemic that destroyed all of humanity on the various worlds of the Sol system. They can literally make people, plants, animals. Defensive weapons and hyperspace engines. Due to the nature of cloning in this universe, you literally can program people to be EXPERTS in anything. They start their first day instinctively knowing how to do their job perfectly.

I might have included the UNSC's Spirit of Fire (SoF) aka the Phoenix-class capital ship, even as an honorable mention. I suggest it as it was designed as a colony ship and was aptly built for cargo space and passenger transport while still being defended by over 70 defensive and offensive weapons and 3 MAC guns. While the SoF was a refitted variant for military use, it still was able to manufacture and house prefabs, as well as maintained terraforming tech allowing the crew the means to adjust most any planet to be inhabited by humanity. This would effectively make set up of a new colony more of a chore than a ordeal. On top of that, the ship was designed to be deconstructed upon colonization being completed to aid in development of the colony. Were it not deconstructed, it should be noted the ship is still largely a weaponized cargo hauler no matter what because even after modifications were made, it was still better suited to support roles rather than direct combat.

Just build a ship with robots and at least 2000 frozen embryoes and that has birth machines, and when the ship reaches the next star in 100,000 years, activate the birth machines and use humanoid androids to raise and train the children.

If you are planning to evacuate the entire planet, Death Star would be the best bet. Of course, I would fix the 2 major flaws in the ship and convert the ship for Civilian use but keep the military equipment onboard for defenses. It's just the fact that the Death Star can hold so many more people than any other ship available in all the SciFi universe that is out there. It can hold vase amount of ships, troops, defensive, and offensive firepower. The ship can also be swap out for other modules. Decks can be converted to whatever you may need. The Death Star has huge hanger big enough to fit a Super Star Destroyer and then some. You can have Mining ships, Freighter, Destroyers, and a laundry list of ship types. Plus, you can also have shipyard to build more ships, fighters, ground equipment, troop transport, HotLabs (special lab ships for the most dangerous experiments), etc. You can also swap decks out for Manufacturing (Weapons, Ship Parts, Hull parts, Engine parts, etc), Mining, Farming, Smeltering, Life support, Research (All Types), etc. Basically, anything you need. Just because the Death Star has been built one way, you can always reconfigure a ship any way you want. You can even turn a Freighter into a battleship by changing out equipment, increasing the structural strength, increasing armor thickness. Yea, you will lose the Freighter effect but if you are in a pinch, you can convert it to a battleship. It's really all about how to swap out equipment and reconfigure the ship to fit your needs. Yea, you can only push some designs so far that you will have to build a fully dedicated ship for what you really need but any ship design can be modified and change if needed.

I’m surprised humanity didn’t have some sort of “last stand “ kind of plan like Japan in WW2. Especially since Covenant ships were faster than the human ships and might shoot down any escape attempt. Imagine the UNSC just mass producing hundreds of NOVA bombs and launching them from ODPs as their final showdown with the Covenant, that could’ve KOd an entire fleet

The Rocinante, or almost any ship from the Expanse, only has that gravity effect while under power.They have no artificial gravity and do not spin, This doesn't mean it wouldn't work, just that your reason for including it is wrong. Also, it is WAY TOO SMALL! It appears to be designed for a crew of about a dozen. The Behemouth, otoh, would work because it spins. And it's ginormous size was designed specifically as a generational interstellar vehicle. The inner deck of the drum even has green gardens and parks. The Galaxy Class has a standard crew and family/passenger count of about a thousand. While I don't know how many empty beds there are available, I very much doubt that it can sustain more than twice that for very long. A fleet of them, like you later mentioned. Some items missing from your list: The Resolute from the Netflix reboot of "Lost In Space", complete with its attached compliments of Jupiter class family ships. The Avalon from "Passengers" The Axiom from "Wall*E" The Red Dwarf from "Red Dwarf"

A good ship for mass evacuations would be an MC80. They were designed as civilian ships and exploration craft, but were customizable to be militarized. Their redundant shields would provide a lot of protection to the refugees. They could be refitted as luxury ships like the Stellar Vista as well, allowing for the passengers to enjoy a more comfortable exile. Also it is fully operable by a human crew

Honorable mention: The Axiom from WALL-E. Basically a giant fully automated luxury liner that can last for hundreds of years in space. Minor downside in that the human inhabitants can easily become fat and lazy due to living lives of shallow luxury. Also, the autopilot is a bit finicky and it's mission as shown was simply to return to Earth once it became inhabitable again instead of actively working to colonize other planets.

What about the Alpha space station from the movie Valerian and City of a Thousand planets?

While these ships would be good for housing civilians,I think pairing one of these ships with a Super Star Destroyer or two would be a pretty effective defense.

Wow American Ben! The show has changed a lot. Some of the changes Iike. Some I dont. But the ones I dont are not enough to drive me away. You are a lot more blunt with language, more relaxed with your clothes, better editing. I like the more real non family friendly presentation. It's kinda like Simon Wistlers Business Blaze channel turned up to 10 and scifi instead of business fails.

The Mothership from Homeworld is hands down the best ship for evacuating a planet. It holds evacuated civilians in cryo trays, and is mostly automated requiring a small crew. It also has expansive resource prossesing, and construction bays capable of creating entire fleets on the fly, completely separated from any kind of external infrastructure.

You shoild read the "Troy Rising" series by John Ringo. The Troy, Thermopylae, and Malta should be on this list. The Troy class battle station was about 10km in diameter had 1.5km thick NiFe walls, over 1m missiles, and several petawatts of laser emitters.

Star Trek also has the Conestoga Class ships that have large passenger compartments added to them where other types of pods are attached. The passenger pods could hold several thousand people in each of them. These ships have engines that are able to run at warp speeds up to around warp 9 for periods of time.

You overlooked the Avalon from 'Passengers'; it contained a range of accommodations, was designed for transposition of 5,000+ people to another planet light-years away, and unlike ships such as the Valley Forge, provided centrifugally-induced gravity in addition to having a formidable (but not totally impenetrable) force-field generator for most common space debris. Plus, it had spectacular views and a bar among its numerous amenities. Add some defensive weapon mounts and a few auxiliary fighters and other craft, and sign me up!

The best Federation ship from Star Trek for this mission would be the 26th Century ENTERPRISE-J (Universe Class). It is far larger than any 24th Century Federation ship and would have parks as well as holodecks on board. It is so large that site-to-site transporters may be used instead of turbolifts according to it's designer Doug Drexler.

I’d still go with the Eclipse Class Star Dreadnaught, it’s bigger than the Galaxy Class Starship and has a lot more armaments to it. Plus it looks way cooler too.

It may be too old for you , but what about the StarLost? That show was on back in the 70's and had multiple Biodomes for different cultures and was miles long. Its one downside was that it didn't have multiple Command Bridges and the crew was killed while leaving the Biodomes effectively isolated from each other.

very nice! cool topoic and good choice of ships! but i have a few things to say. i feel like the explanation about the mercury-class shiptyp was a bit lacking. while its low crew requirement is certainly a nice feature, more importantly in my opinion are the onboard production capabilities for fightercraft and probably other military goods. given a reasonable mount of time, bored people and creativ ideas, this facilities could depending on need be adjusted to be part of a more civilian productionline. the high standard complement of vipers and raptors are an obvious tactical advantage in a variety of sitations evan outside of battle. this could also be used as makeshift civilian transports or evan public transport system whitin a fleet. also i think the andromeda's glorious-heritage-class deserves a place in the list ( evan though its neither build by a 'humans-only faction' nor originally exclusivly crewed by humans but same goes for the galaxy-class) for a number of reasons: 1. obviously designed with humans in mind 2. highly endurable and primarily bulid for independent missions 3. standard crew of about 4000 but skeleton crew of 6 and in emergancies the ship could be gouverned by its formidable AI alone reasonably well 4. very advanced AI/androids and high degree of possible automation 5. onboard production capabilities 6. can sustain over 6000 humans 7. impressive combat capabilities 8. FTL drive system 9. despite beeing a dedicated warship, more civilian facilities are easily added/build so if the old and new commonwealthpropaganda is to be believed than the glorious-heritage-class beats out at least the mercury-class in my opinion. anyways thanks for the cool video and have a nice day!

If you want the best combination of comfort and defense, I'd go with the SDF-1 Macross.

Hello Ben. I have never seen you make any comment about the Perry Rhodan Universe, but they have excellent ships and stations that would be very useful in case of Earth evacuation.

The City-ships built by the Ancients (Stargate Atlantis), the Avalon from Passengers, The Eclipse-class Star Dreadnought/Star Destroyer; The Supremacy (Star Wars The Last Jedi); lastly, the Enterprise-D did have a really massive main shuttle bay in the saucer section which could be converted into additional living area for an emergency evacuation and rarely mentioned versus the numerous smaller shuttle bays usually shown in the TNG episodes.

Having Weyland Yutani make a ship for evacuation is like having Vault Tec make a fallout shelter. Sure whatever they make will get the job done, but you'll never know if they have some nefarious test in mind when you use it.

The Infinity and Enterprise as well as Mercury class are great all around ships. So they are getter in cyrrent world if we needed to evacuate however if it's warfare then the Phalanx wins hands down even over the Death Star.

What about the fleet from Battlestar Galactica? I realize it's not a singular ship, but it did successfully evacuate Humanity.

While not technically called humans, the Higaran mothership is basically exactly what we'd be looking for. A colony ship with massive construction and life support bays and an FTL drive. Large command and control suite, science bays for reverse engineering technology or studying new tech, plenty of habitation modules, and the ability to build and upgrade nearly every system. It also is suited for colonizing other worlds without cannibalizing itself and can produce and field a sizable fleet to help defend it.

The Speranza from 40K would be good too. It was capable of generating entire cities in the training area that could easily be used to make a city for the evacuees. Plus it was basically a forge world itself and could easily repair any damage it took, as well as being ready to terraform the destination planet.

Too many ships missed, and too many on here that just could not help humanity. I know you already corrected for the Titan (Titan A.e.) ,but at least three others I feel you missed is the ,all designed to save the people of earth. One is the buy-n-large Axiom(walle), two is the SDF-1 (macross,robotech), and three is the arks (fire fly,serenity) not too much info on the arks but all three of these ships deserve to be mentioned, come on American Ben humanity is counting on you you have got to do better. 🤗

What about the Space Battleship Eltrium from Gunbuster? Designed as an evacuation ship first, it’s 70 km long frame and reportedly indestructible armor plating (or at least requiring contact with anti-eltrium to destroy) would be capable of sustaining a fraction of the earth’s population (In an episode a character mentions a 1/50,000-ish raffle for relocation) for the evacuation of the sol system. This idea was only abandoned after they decided that it was preferable to convert the ship into a warship to fight the Uchiu Kaijuu.

What About the Supremacy mega class star dreadnought the which was basically a mobile base for the First order? It had hanger bays large enough to house and repair resurgence class star destroyers. Just make sure to have some interdictors near by.

It also has the collected consciousness of every human and is crewed by bots controlled by said consciousness. It can also reform every physical body so our humanity is not lost but if the bots die, humanity isn’t screwed

You should read the “ Troy Ascendant “ trilogy books by John Ringo that features two Troy class battle globes approximately three miles in diameter while being mostly military they were also large enough population so that they can re-populate if earth was destroyed

For #9, I was skeptical, then I remembered my time playing Stellaris. Corvette swarm ftw. Although we'd probably need one Nauvoo-type to grow food, with the swarm protecting it.
