I don't sympathize with Ezma that much even as an adult. I do realize that there are a lot of thankless jobs out there, and Kuzko could have been a nicer person, but at the same time Ezma was trying to do his job instead of hers. She wanted power that didn't belong to her and didn't care who she had to hurt or kill in order to get it.

Well I always thought that Maleficent was not wrong, she just overreacted in the animated version. And sher Khan was also not that evil, he was following his instinct and natural desire. The worst is Frollo. It is very horrible when the giver of Justice and the leader of a place is actually the biggest enemy

Yzma actually says, "I practically raised him," to which Kronk replies, "Yeah, you'd think he'd turn out better." It's meant to explain that Yzma IS the villain, because she raised him to be as narcissistic as she is.

@@speedracer2008 Oh absolutely, by no means am I suggesting his actions were justified. Just that Gaston wasn't wrong in determining that Belle did in fact have feelings for The Beast, it didn't come from warped logic or anything. . Thinking about it now, a logical response to realizing this would be to see Belle as a bit of a weirdo. She has feelings for a non human, from his perspective not having seen her bond with The Beast, that would be a bit strange. So maybe there is something to be said that he was being a sicko by reacting with jealousy to this creature rather than being confused by Belle. . As for what he would have done if a human won Belle's affections, I think he would have done the same but probably bided his time more. With The Beast it would be easy to get the townsfolk on his side, while for a human he would need to kill him either in a secret way or by turning everyone against him so they would know but not care.

@@theyoshifankidhonestly I think because Gaston didn’t know the beast was actually a human prince is why he went so crazy is cause he ego couldn’t stand that what he considered a disgusting monster is what won Belles affections over him. @@pdruiz2005 I am unsure about how gypsies were treated in France (Very badly no doubt.) but the only other example I can think of is Spain and their reason for disliking gypsies is rather dry: "The Roma who insisted on maintaining a separate existence and nomadism would be incarcerated, expelled, or even sentenced to death. Although the legislation mentioned the Roma’s distinct customs, dress, and language, the most essential point of contention was domicile-establishment. According to contemporary visions, what made the Roma “dangerous” and transformed them into a group perceived as external to the Spanish commonwealth was their lack of permanent residence in recognized communities....The Roma were aware of these connections. Many argued that local citizenship was a means to acquire the “constitutions, exemptions and privileges” of natives, while others rejected their identification as Gypsies protesting that they were not foreigners. Outside observers tended to agree. The French consul in Cádiz, for example, explained that the Roma could be considered natives, but that they were usually not included in this category as long as they remained vagabonds....At stake was not so much where they lived, not even how they lived (though both things could be useful indicators), but under which legal and political conditions....Like the church (which was defined not as a building or an organization but as the community of believers), proper polities were made of the sum total of relations between authorities and members and between members among themselves; they did not include houses, or streets. They featured an adequate legal regime, a local fuero."-"Indigenous Reducciones and Spanish Resettlement: Placing Colonial and European History in Dialogue" (2018) By Tamar Herzog. It certainly had to do with religion, being good person means living in a cuidad (Yes, even for agricultural pursuits.) but it is not exactly just muh fanatic.

I have definitely felt the gut wrenching chill as my school bullies discuss girls in the PE locker rooms knowing my sister goes to the same high school and had made absolutely sure all the girls knew what they said unfortunately I was an unpopular geek and many of my warnings were taken as jealousy or some kind of revenge on girls who called me names, when dispite them picking on me I didn't want any of the girls to suffer what those guys had in store for them but I couldn't make them listen sadly.

Men like Gaston treat people, especially women, as conquests and ornaments, not as full human beings. The triplets were more than willing to be with him, and then some. That didn't attract him. They were too easy. Belle, though also beautiful, was a challenge. She was worth the trouble. And bending someone as headstrong and independent as Belle to his will would only burnish how magnificent and wonderful Gaston was as the all-powerful man.

No, unfortunately People are trying too hard to find redeeming qualities in Gaston's pursuit of Belle. The town labeled Belle as the most beautiful girl in town. Gaston deems this title is worthy for someone as "Great" as him "Because he deserves the best". You are right in your opinion for who you think is beautiful but if the Town says otherwise, Gaston wouldn't look twice at them. I bet if Belle was placed in a larger town or city of that era, she'd just be an ordinary but funny girl, thus Gaston would leave her alone. No, he does not like her for her love of books. After the Belle song, Gaston insulted her love of books. He said "It's not right for a woman to read, soon she starts getting ideas, thinking." Which adds to the idea of what Belle is to him: A trophy. Yes, he is attracted to her lack of interest but not in the way that is charming. He is a hunter, she is the prey. Her lack of interest and avoidance of him are seen as a challenge. He gets frustrated when she is not falling over him as fast as the rest of the town. To the point of trying to make her marry him by force twice (Holding a wedding outside her home without even getting her opinion, threatening to lock her father in an asylum if she doesn't). So no, Gaston isn't pursuing her because he wants to be better, he is pursuing her because it will boost his ever growing status and ego. Yes, the Beast has his issues but people are easily or willfully ignoring the walking, giant red flag that is Gaston.

That's because we've been socially conditioned to believe love 'can't' be immediate. Which is a relatively new development in less than 50 years of history, which isn't really long enough to test anything's sociological impact properly. And actually, attraction develops within four minutes. The only reason you need to take longer is to check the other person's MORALS, as Anna finds out, not because 'falling in love' is actually a long process, scientifically speaking.

But even I didn't pick up on this kind of stuff in movies because IQ and social skill comprehension are two totally different things altogether. One deals with how smart you actually are and one deals with how you perceive other people in a socially conditioned way in a socially conditioned society after you are properly socially conditioned by that society. Which doesn't typically happen until you're a teenager and will know all of this thanks to your friends in high school anyway.

In regards to the honorable mention in Aristocrats: Edgar's anger is understandable, but he was still an absolute idiot. He was her butler, her employee. The fact that he was being given anything in the event of her death was more than could have been expected by his obvious surprise. He was basically asked to continue working for her after her passing to take care of the cats, at which point, he got everything. And while taking care of the cats, he would have had access to the estate to care for them, he just couldn't do whatever he wanted with the cash until they died. And this is AFTER Madame Adelaide died, which unless he was planning on murdering her, wasn't going to happen very soon. Perhaps instead, the true realization as an adult would be the idea that once the cats were gone, he was working out a way to get rid of her, too. That, and the warnings of what people will do out of greed, solid evidence to the wonder of a basic education, and lesson not to jump to conclusions.
@mevb

If Edgar would have really have been smart (at least not taking the expression "cats having nine lives" literally, cats typically lives about 15 years and only have one life like all beings here on Earth, it's unknown if they get reborn as another person since it's impossible to prove or disprove it) he'd wouldn't gone through the ordeal of getting rid of the cats and would have satisfied with being the caretaker for Duchess and her kittens until they die of old age and then be happy living as a rich man. It's a combination of naivity and greed that really makes him a bad guy with some bumbling on the side, as a villian he's not the most fierced or hated (I mean he didn't attempt to get the cats killed, though it could be that he's afraid of getting caught with red-handed, both literally and figurativly, with Thomas O'Maley and Scat Cat's gang it'd been another thing) but more of a comedic villian.

What Belle and Esmeralda have in common, besides their quick wits and compassionate natures, is that they're symbolic of something an oppressive society wants to stamp out... 1] In the former's case, Gaston says this outright in their first interaction: "It's not right, for a woman to read. Soon, she starts getting ideas and thinking." Also, the townspeople take his words as gospel, because of the heavy implication that he's part of the wealthy class. As another iconic Disney villain would remind us the following year, "Whoever has the gold makes the rules." 2] It's much wider-reaching for Esmeralda. Frollo believed that, if he could make her capitulate to what he believed were the highest standards for society, her people would follow suit and figuratively bend the knee to him. That's what burning her at the stake in the town square was all about. He could've done it privately, within the walls of the Palace of Justice, but he wanted the rest of her culture to lose hope, upon seeing her like that. It's a theme we see in several other literary and cinematic hero{in}es and villains, like Voldemort and Harry Potter, or Katniss Everdeen and President Snow. Frollo also embodies a dark trait that both men and women can have. It's the idea that whatever you're feeling, and how you might hurt someone because of that feeling, isn't the real problem, but being called out for it IS. Internally, the antagonist of a particular situation is screaming at the protagonist, "How DARE you make me feel guilty?! How DARE you make me uncomfortable?! It's YOUR fault! You're evil!" How do you know Hook didn't deserve to get his hand cut off and thrown to Tick-Tock the Croc? While we don't know any details what he done in the past but let's assume he's the typical pirate coming to Neverland to plunder for treasure and loot, assaulting the inhabitants of the island, probably capturing maidens to used as slave girls on his ship (though we don't see any we can assumed that if they didn't die in the process, Peter Pan most likey have rescued them and took them back home). After all, that's what he sort of did Tigerlily. He almost let her drown if she refused to tell him where Pan's hideout was and that says a lot of his cruel side. It would be naive to think that he was innocent and that Pan is the actual villian in the story, cuz that's not how it works. Captain Hook is a villian for a reason even if he has a personal vendetta against the hero.

I always thought it happened in a fight; not something Pan did 'for fun.' I feel like everyone is overlooking that it was SMEE, Hook's henchman, who is saying this. And while Peter is a more authoritative leader in the book, and rather self-absorbed (like the original Mary Poppins), he's certainly not evil. He takes good care of his 'family' and it's made clear he fights fair while Hook does not. So if he lost his hand in fair fight to Peter, I don't get the condemnation. Would it have been preferable for Hook to kill him when he wasn't fighting back?

I love how they point out the one scene in which Scar is painted as a nazi, all the while ignoring the fact that the ENTIRE MOVIE was a blatant rip-off of Kimba, the White Lion.
