Japan has the world's best convenience stores and I'll show you the 3 major chains: 7-Eleven, Lawson and Familymart! I'll also tell you my top 10 picks from Japanese convenience stores so you know what to get if you have a chance to visit Japan! You will see them everywhere, and sometimes multiple different convenience stores right next to each other. You can find cheap meals, great drinks, yummy snacks, and more! You can also get so many errands done in these stores! They are amazing!
My top 10 picks of Japnaese "conbini":
1. Onigiri - riceballs (mostly around 100-200 yen each)
2. Prepared meals (around 500-800 yen per meal)
3. Hot foods (around 100-200 yen per item)
4. Libera chocolates (180 yen)
5. Ice fruit balls (about 200 yen)
6. Limited time items (price varies, but most snacks are about 200 yen each)
7. Flavored water (about 150 yen)
8. Flavored alcohol (more specifically Horoyoi, about 150 yen)
9. Magazines with freebies (usually between 650-1000 yen)
10. Tickets (for Disney parks, museum, train/bus, concerts, events, moveis, etc.)

I'm all about that Mini-stop, but Lawson is a close second. It's actually funny that you uploaded this when you did. I did a Ministop video coming out tonight. Gotta say yours covered conbini way better. Hahaha. Excited to see another up and coming KZfaqr making more than just vlogs!

Technically your not. But you can either A. get permission from the conbini's PR team (Not fun and requires a lot of time and Japanese) B. Film anyways. Japan is pretty non confrontational.

Hi, I'm a Japanese living in Japan. Just one correction. It's not prohibited to drink in public in Japan, but Japanese people usually don't do it because it's Japanese manner or unwritten thing in Japan. She said "So you can see people walking around holding beer." But actually you won't see people with beers in their hands very often, and whenever I see them I think "Are they alcoholics?" " Those Japanese are very ill mannered..."

O Yoko how about ice cream? When I was in Japan, I went to buy ice cream and then I went to the station and I was walking and eating my ice cream sandwich at the same time. People kept looking at me in a weird way and I felt embarrassed, so I tried to finish it quickly. Is it the same? Is it bad manners to eat ice cream while walking to the station?
@pokegirlskyler
@pokegirlskyler 7 жыл бұрын
Jahaziel Martinez apparently in Japan it's bad manners to eat while walking (that's also why they don't have many bins on the street apparently!)
@koyo6381
@koyo6381 7 жыл бұрын
Hi. I think it is still ok to have an ice cream sandwich while you are walking on the street, since it's kinda street food or finger food. Maybe some old generation people would mind it a little though. At a staion, right? Not on a train? Then it's not that big deal, I believe. If it was not an ice cream sandwich but a bento box or cup noodle, I'd be also a bit surprised and take a glance at you :D I'm in my 30s, when we were younger we were told not eat and drink something while we were walking. Also, we were told not to sit on the ground, like at a station or on the train. But teenagers/millennials in Japan, YUTORI generation, are a bit different... Like in any other countries :D What I was really impressed about is you actually felt people looked at you and tried to understand something weird happening there. I think you are a real traveler. You notice any subtle cultural differences. There are some tourists from China, they enjoy the trip in their own way. Do you know what I mean? Whenever I travel, I always tried to understand the culture there, to follow the local rules/manners as much as I can, and enjoy learning them. Like "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do" or just "Go with the flow." But basically Japanese people are so generous to foreign tourists, usually we wouldn't say anything about whatever they do. (but can't help looking at them sometimes, like you experienced...) I'm also always generous to tourists ;) But I think these Jvlog channels created by foreigners should be correctly informative since so many other foreign viewers learn many things from these videos. Thank you for asking me that :) Have a good one.

O Yoko Thank you for the reply! It was actually in a conbini 500 m away from the station. I really appreciate your response!! I lived in Sakado, Saitama for a year and noticed other subtle things, but that's the one I remember the most lol in what part of Japan do you live? Greetings from Vancouver, Canada.

@TP-tg8cc
@TP-tg8cc 4 жыл бұрын
(Take this comment in the context that I'm referring to the USA) @@ph11p3540 But I feel like the difference is that Americans kind of grab at straws when it comes to selling items, but Japanese have...well... *Japanese* food! Like you said, America picks from a variety of different cultures. They do Italian food, French food, Chinese food, even some of the fruits Americans eat are not from America.I don't know if you're referring to America in general ( in which case I apologize) or just the USA, but those were just a few things I can list. I'm not at all trying to be hateful or controversial about this, but I agree with the original guy. America does look like it should up its game. (Addition: I am originally Pakistani, and whenever I go to my asian market, or even just the indian market, there are always such exotic things. Maybe this is just because of the geography for America, but the place seems to have such barren items.Sorry if that's mean, but I can't list many unique items USA has that I would enjoy)

@paper tastes like cardboard Actually what's really fascinating to me about Canada is how much rural land there is. There's something more overwhelming when a country is as populated as the US. but I'm not complaining, I'm definitely blessed to live in the US. I think Canada and the USA are some of the greatest countries in the world to live in! We are blessed, to live in the countries we do ♥️🇨🇦🇺🇸

The conbinis are convenience 100% with well-kept toilets, free wifi, ATMs and drinkable cheap hot coffee . Your food guide was great, this bicycle traveller just took pot luck on most items, such a huge variety. Makes the conbinis in australia very drab indeed!

I absolutely love the horoyoi peach flavoured sake.. I bought it on my first day in japan and I bought it again everyday thorough my trip there.. I'm not a fan of flavoured water though, I prefer mineral water but I found it quite hard to get mineral water there.. in my country, there r so many brand of mineral water in konbini, but in japan I usually only found the store brand one.. I found this very interesting.. love the unsweetened green tea in bottle too since it's quite hard to get unsweetened bottled tea in my country..
