I used snowball method heard from KZfaq. And in 2020 I was completely broke and had almost $50000 in debt. But I decided to end debt and start taking things seriously. I cut down all expenses and worked 2 jobs and also go to college . I go home only to get shower, food and 3 hour sleep. Rest I also slept in my car but, within 1.5 year, I paid off all debt. I changed 3 Honda civic in this process each was $1100 in cost because I use to do pizza delivery as second job. Still use same car. I was only 23 year old at that time. After watching your video, you refreshed everything I use to do. Thank you

I've been completely debt free for 8yrs.and I retired 1 month before I turned 60😅.and I'm totally retired.

It is a mindset. I am a gardener, I wanted to buy two big planters, I mean larger than average, could not find them for less than $100 anywhere, so nope. Walked into Home Depot, found utility totes, the perfect size I need for $10.00 each, so yeah its a mindset. No one is going to know they are totes and I can do my project for what I consider a reasonable amount. I really try to be mindful of garden spending, cause well flowers and plants are my thing. Something I heard recently is “your not an influencer, buy you ARE being influenced” Aimed at the “ooo I need that new candle because XYZ has it” or “I need to re-decorate because XYZ has changed their home and everyone thinks it looks great” You don’t NEED the candle, they did their job well and influenced you into thinking you needed it… You aren’t an influencer so who are you trying to impress by re-decorating just to ‘keep up’ ❤

Never too late to budget. It’s a mindset and will open your eyes. Budgeting will train you to live within your means. You will reach your long and short term goals. You will realize what is important and what is not. Maximize your awareness, willpower and income! Blessings to you all!

Budgeting changed everything. We actually figured out where all the money was going, and we stopped the drips. I really love the last tip Jennifer! Having debt should not even be an option. Having automatic withdrawals for savings really helps with this. A budget is a given for living a sane life. Most of the worry is gone.

A penny saved is a penny earned. I used to be an impulsive spender. Not anymore I am saving money for a used SUV. I have my bachelor's degree.

One thing I have never been able to understand about "rounding up" is how do you balance your checking account to the bank balance? As someone who balances to the penny every month, that would drive me crazy

I've never heard someone say it so clearly "dept is not an option" take it off the table. That is cut and dry and clear. Great advice!

All about the budget. I track incoming and outgoing down to the penny. No debt.

lol. Collection calls. (Way back also). Prob also why I got in the habit of never answering calls right away. 😅😅 Hah! Here to also testify about landlording. Esp if you share space with others. It’s NOT passive. It’s been quite the ordeal just for me to learn how to have sufficient boundaries with my tenants. (Although that’s not the only issue or work you’d have to do). I’d say it’s not quite as bad if you have tenants in a separate property, but it’s still very much like a 24/7 “on call” job and the weight of it is always present.

Just asked checker at Lowes Garden Center if they still discounted torn bags, "yes', got bags of Cannas half price for asking.

We track our spending with a pen & paper (in a book). It’s in the lounge where it’s easily accessible. We write in it after every spend. This helps us know how much we have left & keeps us in the budget.

I'd also add. YOU ARE NEVER EVER TO OLD TO LEARN, anything. THAT includes Mentally, emotionally and physically learning. You never ever stop learning.

I just love your videos! You give that inspiration and boost to me to continue living a frugal, yet abundant life. I live in Toronto Canada and pretty much everyone around me complains about food, gas and housing prices. It is so true that almost everything is up, but once you learn the difference between wants and needs and realize that I can make different choices (like repurpose, go without, only shop sales,move, give up a hobby that is now too expensive). Over the years, my family and I have intentionally planned how we can inflation proof ourselves; like stockpiling food (or anything!) when at rock bottom prices, we cut our own hair, drive as little as possible, don't pay for convenience (food delivery, prepared meals, take out, coffee shops etc). The list is quite endless 😊 I would love to hear how you future proof / inflation proof your family. Perhaps a future video idea? Thank you again 💕

Ive never had any debt. I dont understand why people do it.

My budget goal is to live within my pension most months without using my husband's social security because I will not get his SS if he dies before me. The months we pay property taxes and house insurance will not be within my pension but most months can be.
