Do you get frustrated trying to hunt down and find allocated bottles of bourbon? It can be a tough journey to get those highly sought after and rare whiskeys. Not only are they rare and difficult to find, but they are expensive. Lucky for you (and us) there are a TON of great options right on the shelf of most liquor stores.
There are so many good affordable options that we had trouble narrowing it down to 12. But we did. These are our top 12 bourbons that are under $30.

Thanks for the reminder of just how many great bottles of Bourbon, Whiskey (and Whisky) are out there for absolutely great prices. I'm sure you could have stretched it to 20-25 bottles easily. Being in MI, many of those stretch beyond $30...some into $40 range..but this is mostly due to state laws and taxation. Still very affordable. I'm pretty much done with the "give it a try" $50-$60 bottles........the old standbys NEVER disappoint, always deliver. Cheers!

I routinely find KC9 at Costco for under $20. KC is always in my cabinet. Often, there are several bottles. Perhaps my very favorite daily drinker.

I started with Buffalo Trace and like it. Russels 10 after opening up is a great drink. Bay Area, CA here so finding Weller SR is very hard to get. Eagle Rare and Blanton's is a lot easier. Will need to step back a bit and try Wild Turkey 101.

I haven't tried Old Forester, Bulleit, 1792, Russell's and Larceny. I didn't like Maker's Mark and Four Roses so I would replace those with Rebel 100 and Evan Williams. A couple of cheap handles that I liked were J.W. Dant and Very Old Barton 86.

Excellent list. And while I agree since everything is based on MSRP, I'd say not all markets are the same. "Regular" pricing around me is 5-10 more for every bottle. Crazy. But I love the comparisons and that you consider ones in the same distilleries. Cheers!

This is the list I needed for my barista budget! Ha OF 100 is my go to daily favorite. You gave me some new ones to try as well (and coincidentally your giveaways are almost all ones I haven’t gotten to try yet so 🤞🏼 ha).

Regular buffalo trace definitely deserves a spot there. We get it for 19GBP in stores and via Amazon.

I finally picked up a bottle of Rare Breed after seeing so many people talk it up. I'm not impressed with it, as well as a bottle of Larceny. Tonight I tried mixing them together and I think I can enjoy them mixed in a decanter. I really enjoy KC, Pipe Dream, Old Soul from Mississippi and San Tan Stave. I'll be 67 in July and fairly new to the Bourbon world.

The OGD 114, Benchmark Full Proof, and my good old Turkey Trot, consisting of Russell's Reserve 10yr, Wild Turkey 101, Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, and Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Great list! These are all products that I tried when I was first starting out. These are the same ones I always recommend for people who are curious about bourbon. Super adorable, on almost every liquor store shelf, and most of them are even available in 375ml or even 50ml bottles if a store has a good selection of those.

In Michigan Buffalo Trace is under $30 before tax. Love me Larceny, Wild Turkey, Fighting Cock, Evan Williams BIB, the new Jim Beam Black 7 year. SO many I could name for around the lower south big city area. Would love to see some more camp fire cocktails on the site. I got a few when you had them in stock and really liked them.

A lot of channels list budget bottles - and have a larger budget than I do. 🙂 Since my usual budget only extends to $40, and special occasions with unexpected fundage have never (except for right now, but this occasion is *extraordinary* circumstances) reached $60, a list of bottles under $30 is right up my alley. 🙂 Woodford Reserve is fine stuff. Maker's Mark's profile is too bright for my preference, but it's a good choice. OF 100 is one of my favorites. I love Bulleit bourbon. Elijah Craig is also great. Knob Creek 9 is my favorite bourbon. I've not had the tan label Four Roses in a couple of years, but I liked it enough that I went on to find that the Small Batch is excellent. Russell's Reserve 10 is the first one I don't like. And I'm not a fan of 1792. Benchmark Full Proof is the first one I don't know - you can't find any Benchmark juice here. OGD Bonded and 114 are both delicious. And finally, Larceny is also great. I would add Wild Turkey 102 and Evan Williams Bottled In Bond. They're both under 30 bucks, and they're both good. 🙂 My bottle of Weller Special Reserve was $40, but then it's only recently ceased to be a unicorn here. But I don't really care for it - like almost everything else I've had from Buffalo Trace, it's kind of blah for me. If I'd realized that I've already had almost everything on the list I'd've refrained from entering the giveaway. I don't suppose there's a way to withdraw, so I'll just request that if my name comes up in the randomizer you toss it out. 🙂

Have had a majority of the 12 bottles, like them all. Unfortunately, some are a lot higher in the Chicago area. Some great bourbon in your video, well done. I disagree with the Buffalo Trace vs Benchmark. Benchmark is solid, would rather spend a couple more bucks for the Buffalo Trace.

Good list but my personal favorites are Wild Turkey 101 and Early Times BiB. Most of these whiskeys are proof that anyone can enjoy a good and solid pour.

It would be too long. I try to keep my episodes 20 min or under. I already went over, and this was just the list for $20-$30. I will do more in this series.
