It was the best game ive played to this day, at least it got stuck in my memory as that. I just loved everything about that, the story, the characters, mechanics... it was really perfect in my opinion. And to this point i didnt even know it wasnt a top publisher game lmao

Played it recently as I didn't have WiFi for a while and so so glad I did. Not a huge stealth game fan but absolutely loved it and completed it in 3 days

I don't think AA game is really a proper term. They just used it to say that these are not AAA games. Many in the list are indie games.

@@AninoNiKugi The way i see it is this: -Indie games are games made by startups with low budgets. Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies would be a good example of this. -B tier games are games made by established companies that wind up being mediocre and utilize poor graphics, visuals, and were cheap to make and were not part of a large, famous series, and are generally sub par if not bad in everything they do. Would say games like I am Setsuna by SE's Tokyo Factory team kinda fall into it...some people may like it but i wasn't able to get into it tbh -A games which are made by established devs/publishers and have mediocre graphics but have more obvious effort put into things like story and Gameplay and have a modest budget. Octopath Traveler comes to mind here, as does Tokyo Xanadu by Falcom -AA games which have graphics/visuals/performance just on the cusp of modern day ideal standards but also have great combat, stories, etc and have a modest to decent budget. Examples would be Namco's Tales series, Sega's Valkyria Chronicles series, Square Enix's Vallyrie Profile Series or Star Ocean series (granted could put this one in A as well), Capcom's Ace Attorney series, Atlus's Persona series, Recent Ateleir games have been falling more here than A tier, etc. -AAA games which focus on high budget and graphics but can either wind up being irredeemable garbage (ex: all EA sports games, half of all EA games, Activision's recent games, modern day Assasin's Creed games, Honestly all of Bethesda's games if you honestly look at them objectively, Cyberpunk 2077, etc) or great games (Final Fantasy (though was never able to get into the series myself and most of their recent games have been bad since XII imo...VIIR was good but hate they split it up how they did...first game should've finished the first continent at the least), Dragon Quest (SE's best franchise imo), Monster Hunter World (maybe Rise is more AA tbh as far as graphics go), Sekiro, Souls, Nioh, etc). But ya many of these are either Indie (as in being made by recent startups) or A more so than AA games based off the definitions i gave (don't really know the history of most of these games' companies so not sure how long they've been around/how successful they've been in the past...not really into the types of games that have been showed in the video).

Under 3 hours to beat. Over 3 years to forget.

Would be a great game if it didn't crash every 5 seconds or the missions would actually start and not glitch out.

Edith Finch was such a unique experience. I have to admit it took me until almost half-way through to feel really hooked, by the end I was in love. I hope we see more of this story-first game development in the future.

If you like Elex and like to go through painful (yet rewarding) gaming experience, try gothic, gothic 2, risen series all by piranha bytes. Very similar, and can be quite difficult to play initially (as character is weak)

Yeah, quite a few of the games on this list are not remotely AA games. The writing as a whole for this video is a mess.

i dont think it has anything to do with the size of the development team, but i also dont think ConcernedApe did a kickstarter or similar thing like Undertale (while i also argue Undertale is considered AA) so it shouldn't have been in this video, maybe even both

​@@DieJG You are right, apparently Undertale came from a 51k Kickstarter, which would be less than a single person annual salary. For reference Senua's Sacrifice that is who pretty much started this whole AA thing had a budget slightly under $10 million with a team of around 20 people

it has virtually no RE inspiration to it, the game is basically a love letter to SH which is by no means bad just nothing like RE.

I'll have to check it out. It really makes me think of one of my favorite abilities in the popular stormlight archives books, where a certain group of powered individuals can set gravity to any direction to them that they want, or by passing their power along, to an object they want, or to apply more towards themselves, apply gravity even stronger in said direction, making one fall twice as fast. The concept of how they would use this to fly and do so much other things besides, was really interesting. Now I kinda have to check out this game, if it has something even remotely like that.

so go play double A games, most of them are short and sweet

This reminds me a lot of an often used power set of 'flying' people in the stormlight archives books. Now I kind of have to go check it out in video game form, didn't even think there was a game with that mechanic.

@@adamwest8711 It's certainly is great, I'd rate it as my fourth favorite fantasy series, and BS's second best. When you finish, I'd recommend either the Gentleman Bastards series or the Licanius trilogy. I've been in a bit of a tear through fantasy myself for the last couple years since my first reread of WoT... People said Malazan next after Sanderson, but I don't think the comparison for similarity is there, it's quite different, but good in it's own way.

I feel like Vampyr definitely needed some polish. I found the constant back and forth running from district to district and the repetitiveness of combat to get really grating after a while

I really enjoyed it up to a point where I could no longer handle some of the ugly (like 2005 games) textures and NPCs, it's really too bad.

@@Die-Angst Vampyr especially though, because there is no fast travel or quick form of transportation and you don't get any new areas, and you have to endlessly fight the same old enemies that just keep respawning and the skill tree is honestly sort of shallow. I liked most of the boss fights though.

@@sebarus8108 The lack of fast travel definitely hurt the replayability of this game for me, which is a shame. After completing it, I couldn’t face doing it all over and just watched the alternative endings on KZfaq. Something I’ve never done for any other multi-ending title. Also the love story. I never really understood how they went from ‘Hi. I’m a vampyr ’ to ‘we are eternal soulmates’. Didn’t stop me enjoying the game, just felt…off.

I bought a headset purely for Hellblade and that was one of the best gaming decisions I've made. Anyone who wants to play Hellblade must play it with headsets, especially ones with 3D surround sound features. It's how the game is meant to be experienced.

@@pewdiejunior5928 let me remind you they didn't bring her into a warzone, it was an ambush while they were travelling to a base lol. They wondered after how the Scars got past their lines. Also she let Joel's killer go because she realized that after all she had been through, it wouldnt be worth it, all she wanted was closure with Joel and she just wanted to forgive him, but she couldn't and all that she was able to do was to let go of both Abby and Joel, she said "take him" after letting Abby go and it's not just Lev she referred to. Killing abby would be thematically correct but a disservice to the characters to put them through constant pain without any hope for a better future, so they made it a hopeful ending where they both live and might go on to do and be better.

I'm happy it's in the list but a bit sad it's low in the list and he didn't say much praise about it 😂 I demand it to be number 1! To be fair, I haven't played I think almost all the other games 😆
