Goku turning SSJ for the first time will forever top all of them, it was the moment that started it all and also the SSJ theme from Bruce made it even more epic.

The original Broly transformation from DBZ is right up there with Gohan SSJ2, Goku SSJ, and Goku mastered UI. The pain in the scream as his skin rips off his body while 10s by Pantera plays is bone chilling.

Future Trunks going Super Saiyan for the first time was good in showing us how hopeless the future time-line was everyone is dead after losing Gohan trunks was the only warrior left to fight.

Goku's first ever Super Saiyan transformation will always be my top 1. It made our childhood epic. I remember the day after he transformed, everybody in our school can't stop talking about it

To be honest, Goku's first transformation will always be number one for me. When I first saw this, it amazed me completely and lingered the very next day that I went to school. All of my fellow classmates and friends were still hyped about it for days. That will always be my precious moment from my years of being a teenager. ^_^

SS3 Goku was such a badass moment. Everyone was shocked(On the show) at the sheer power that Goku was releasing. It’s definitely one of my top favourite scenes even though it took a bit but it was amazing!

For me, Trunks’ SSJ Rage is up there with SSJ3 and Goku’s first SSJ. The music makes the atmosphere electric and it had a huge impact on the saga.

The first time Goku went super saiyan stays number one for me. It was so impactfull/different/extreme/necessery and so on. Though the instinct ones also belongs in the top 3 as together with the freaking awesome music it was truely epic.

Gohan transforming into a Super Saiyan 2 for the first time and Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan 3 for the very first time are my two personal favorite moments from DBZ. Now Super Saiyan Blue and U.I are my second favorite transformation moments along with Broly going to Legendary Super Saiyan at full power.

I understand that there are some heavy contenders here but SS2 Gohan has to be the most important one. All along since the start of DBZ, the only plot that span across all arcs was to awaken Gohan's power so he could be the ultimate protector of the earth. And in the Cell saga we finally get to see him surpassing everyone in the series. It was epic and the culmination of years of build up. "Mystic" or Ultimate Gohan from the Buu saga could have been even more badass if handled right, but at this point Toriyama had already gave in and was set to put Goku back in the spotlight as the main hero of the show, which as we all know, did not feel good for anyone who enjoyed and rooted for Gohan's character development for so long. As much as I love Goku and I'm fine having him as THE main character, they did not need to invalidate Gohan completely at the same time. Look at One Piece, even though Luffy is the main and strongest character of the crew, Sanji and Zoro are still seen up there with him as the "ultimate ass kickers" of the team. We have that in DB with Goku and Vegeta - why not leave Gohan up there as well? Thankfully after almost 30 years Gohan is finally getting his comeback though 🤣

Glad they included SSJ4. Just because it's not canon doesn't mean it doesn't kick ass

MUI Goku is definitely top 5, but number 1 will always, ALWAYS be SSJ 1 transformation on Namek.

I think the UI sign transformation should’ve been higher on the list, that entrance Goku made after everyone thought he was dead was epic and I actually like that sequence more than the Mastered UI transformation scene although both are epic

Broly in the original movie with Pantera playing in the background is definitely top 3. Along with Gohan ss2 in front of kibito Kai at the tournament. Even though he was weaker, that transformation was sick.

the first UI sign is just insane, a massive battle followed by goku getting hit by the biggest spirt bomb in the series so far, seeing the complete shock on everyones face when goku got seemingly vaporized and again when beerus yelled asking if he was finished and the whole realm started shaking with the pure force of his energy, ep 110 of DBS is perfection

My favorite will always be the first Super Saiyan transformation vs Frieza, my second favorite probably be SSJ Rosé from Goku black, I like his character a lot. Also Goku's SSJ Blue with Kaioken will always look good, and it's pretty powerful if used right

perfected ultra instinct is easily the best transformation especially in the anime. after seeing vegetas ultimate fight with toppo showing he is formidable enough to goku and master roshi having a form of ultra instinct and preaching about clearing your mind something he’s done since the original dragon ball it just made it so much more special when perfected ultra instinct hit.

I thought future trunks should’ve been #1. There’s so much pain, hope and hopeless behind that transformation.

If you’re looking for just action then some of these super ones could rank high, but for me, I’m looking for emotion and plot driven transformations. For me there is nothing close to being as poetic and perfect than Gohan going super saiyan 2

Broly LSSJ in DBS Broly Honorable mentions are Golden Frieza, Vegeta SSJ against Android 19, Vegeta SSJB Evolved, Toppo God of Destruction and Majin Vegeta.

Just a personal preference but tbh ssbe was just done so amazingly it has to be my favorite. It started his change of path from goku. They were both at blue and after this Vegeta went to UE and goku went to MUI. It also shows his pride and his unwillingness to not absolutely shatter his own limits. There’s more but for me it’s just the best

GT chief character designer and animator Katsuyoshi Nakasuru did a very nice job on Super Saiyan 4 back in early 1997.

Part of what made the Z transformations so special is the Faulconer music, don’t get me wrong the Japanese dub hs some great muaic as well but something about the Faulconer tracks just hit different its a shame we’ll never hear it again in future series imo

I wouldn't really consider fusions transformations as...they really aren't. *BUT* some of those fusions were epic!
