Messi already broke 90% of any possible record until age 25, but stats and trophies don't fully reflect a footballer's value. Messi is considered by a huge majority of football professionals the best time ever, because he is simply the best ever. Not only that he surpasses any footballer in history in any individual aspect of the game (creativity, smarts, talent, finishing, passing, touch etc) but he is like that since he started playing and nobody was ever able to find an antidote. Ronaldo da Lima was godly for only 1-2 seasons, then he was "learned" and remained "just" world class. Ronaldinho lasted in beast-mode for a season at most. Maradona, 1-2 seasons. Pelle was never godly, he was just more athletic and intelligent that the hillbillies in his generation. Messi is in "god mode" since 10-11 years and his worst 1-2 seasons were "world class" and connected to trials, injuries etc. After holding 4 consecutive Balon D'ors at 23 years... what more could possibly motivate you. It's a wonder he has the mood to kick a football anymore.

Something people need to understand is that just because Messi and CR7 are arguably the best players still currently playing, that doesn't mean they're the best players of all time. Yes, they're amazing, but when you have such players as Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Best and Beckenbauer, it's really no surprise that Messi and CR7 are no higher on the list. And also, Scoring goals isn't everything. Even though they don't get as much attention as strikers, Defenders, Midfielders and even Goalies can be just as Important.

Can't believe people don't hold both Messi and Ronaldo higher, in my opinion Messi and Ronaldo are the two greatest players ever to play the game. They both constantly break records for fun and achieve unbelievable figures from the amount of goals scored, individual awards, club awards ( league titles etc ), and more recently international awards ( Ronaldo winning the Euros ). People need to realise how great these players are, don't get me wrong all players on this list are great but Messi and Ronaldo both should be top three.
