I ball every time I watch Adam win. Like Adam, I am a massive fan. I’ve been watching since season 2, I shared my love of the show with my dad, and my dad passed from cancer in 2015. I also lost my younger brother in May of 2016, near when Adam would have lost his mom. So I’ve always felt Adam’s win on a very deep level.

My Favorite reaction is Boston Rob when he stood up, didn't even hug his fellow Finalists and went straight to Amber

They're not objectively the best reactions, but Adam and Maryanne hold a special place for me for bringing me completely to tears with them when they won.

I agree with the comments Vecepia should be number 1 but I am not mad at Fabio being number 1 given his reaction! I also agree I love Colby’s reaction to Tina winning because 1. You don’t ever see anything like that in a later season, and 2. You could tell how genuine he was when sharing that excitement for Tina! It goes without saying that Colby knew he had an easy win if he took Keith with him to final 2 over Tina, but him taking Tina was proof that he wanted there to be a good winner for the show no matter the outcome, regardless of whether or not that winner was him. You can call it stupid if you want but I think it was a testament to both Colby’s character as well as Tina’s social game that she built such a connection with Colby that he would do that for her!

I love Ethan's reaction bc even though he was 3-2 ahead in jury votes and Probst says "the winner of Survivor" he's so slow to react it's like he thought that Kim was about to get a supervote or something

Say what you want about the seasons themselves, the winners in the 40s have been incredibly diverse. We have the new king of Survivor starting the trend of comedic charismatic winners in two-timer Tony, two back-to-back Canadian women of colour, and then the second oldest winner in the entire show's history. There have always been charismatic players in Survivor, but generally they are limited to 2-3 highlighted people who go out late jury or maaaybe make it to the final and win. The trend in the 40s seems to be that everyone is charming in some way, and everyone is playing up that charm with the new(ish) jury format. Rather than choosing one person, as a fan, that I desperately want to win (like Ethan or Janet), I'm rooting for multiple people and finding the seasons are ending with final 5s where the winner isn't clear cut. And personally, regardless of the twists or anything else that brings the season down, because of how charistamtic all the players are, the final 5s in the 40s have been SO intense.

I felt so conflicted about Adam. I’ve lost a parent to cancer so I know that pain. I hurt for him at times, and Survivor is emotionally charged so I’m sure that backstory only makes it more emotional. Having said that his game wasn’t good enough to win (in my opinion), and he used his family tragedy as a bombshell at the end to garner sympathy and votes. It worked, but backstory shouldn’t be the reason someone wins. I know it’s human nature, and I get why it helped. You hear players talk all the time about how they need to vote someone out because “their story is too good” and they’ll win. I know it happens, but it shouldn’t. We all have hardships, stories, and struggles to make our backstory sympathetic. It shouldn’t be why someone wins, and to use it so blatantly at the end disgusted me. I started a “cry tally” for him when I rewatched the season. I think I got to 20 times? I’m sorry, but a crybaby who exploits family tragedy to cover up a subpar game and get a unanimous vote to win doesn’t deserve to win.
