Not to sound skeptical, but I have been visited by the mare. When I was 3 years old, I woke up, its face was near my face and I couldn’t move or scream. It wasn’t until I scratched my brothers feet with my feet, he woke up and I was finally able to move. 2 years later, I told my parents about what I saw. I drawled what I saw and they quickly took my drawing and burned it. We went to church and got a blessing the following Sunday. I didn’t understand what was happening until 5 years ago

I was getting disappointed that not one Philippine folklore creature was on the list being that the entries were from different culture mythologies until number 1. There are a lot more mythical creatures in Filipino folklore that scared me growing up and I think the Aswang is the most terrifying of them all.

I was born in Latin America, LA Llorona's story is: A woman who lost her child and refused for anyone to feel that joy if she couldn't. She kidnaps children who won't listen to their parents. 04:10 Hold on, that sounds like that weird "lucid" nightmare that I had. I dreamed that I crashed the car and, even I knew that I was dreaming, I was unable to control it. Then some...person? approached me and started to choke me. My body was able to feel the bed and the sheets but I wasn't able to open my eyes at all and I could feel that thing's hand at my neck.

Don't forget about Skinwalkers. They're know to shapeshift into animals and imitate people by disguising their voices. The Navajo don't speak about this creature, because of how terrifying it is... There's also the Pukwudgie that comes from Wampanoag folklore. They lure people to their deaths...
