Chrome Host Seedshark ..... you're missing out. Chrome host stacked with anything that buffs incubation. Feels like a Manaform Hellkite, but for 3 mana, that poops out phyrexian tokens instead of temporary dragon farts. Doesn't end the game as quickly as Manaform. But it builds a small army and fast with the right incubation buffs. and Corruption of Tawashi Bit expensive, but extra draws and a decent 4 incubate token. Works great with Chrome Host. You just start dropping spells that incubate, so every turn you're activating new incubation and drawing an extra card. And if you get 2 seedsharks out there, and two corruptions, forget it. And the cool thing is, if you need creatures to sacrifice, you're in control of what power/tough token you make to sacrifice, if went black/blue at least. So can just throw out a 1 mana spell to create sacrifice, or a 5 mana spell to create a heavy. Plus, it's a freakin shark that poops phyrexians. I mean. It's one of the more unique and cooler concepts they've come up with in a while. Not too many awesome shark cards. All I can say is, never take a vacation to the beaches of Phyrexia. You do not want to swim in those waters.

Archpriest of Shadows would make my list. You keep talking about reanimation targets, but those need reanimators. I think Archpriest goes the distance while simultaneously adding board presence in mono-black. Absolutely cracked card that makes your opponent have to remove two creatures.

Whenever someone is impressed by a 3 mana (GGG) 4/5 statline on polukranos, I remind them of lovestruck beast's 5/5 statline for 2+G with a 1/1 tacked on as an adventure. Somehow I miss the eldraine set now a days lol
@Goldy01
@Goldy01 Жыл бұрын
Yeah but that's 4 mana for a 5/5 that can't attack, in the worst case scenario. Polukranos can always swing, and has reach, too, which can be important.
@usmansabir3897
@usmansabir3897 Жыл бұрын
@@Goldy01 that's a 4 mana which absorbs a removal spell but still has 5/5 body that can't attack on the field. Which can attack by having many different utility 1/1s on the field. It's by no means busted but compared to polukranos it's definitely better. Think of it this way, during the standard meta lovestruck beast was an auto include for any aggro-ish midrange green/X decks except for temur rec (which may have had it sideboard... Don't quite remember). Polukranos won't achieve that unless we get some green aggro deck similar to the snow green deck an year or so back. It probably won't even be played in monogreen devotion in pioneer/explorer.

I think the main problem with Elesh Norn is that she's like...the 5th or 6th best white 4 drop, despite being as strong as she is. White is just ridiculously deep right now, and even with white potentially supporting every kind of archetype that exists in standard...I don't think she makes the cut over her better compatriots outside of something like a dedicated Phyrexian deck.

I would really like to play those awesome 5+ cost cards that activate on turn 7+, or 2+ multicolor cards in a competitive mode, however, as long as there are mono color, 3 turn win decks and counter spells by 2, they are just fillers that will go unnoticed in time.

I thought battles were a waste but I've come around on them. My initial thought was why send your damage somewhere else if you can hit your opponent, but in practice I see they give you a lot of value for comparatively little commitment.

Azuza saga play an extra land turn three expand the sphere turn four titania's command turn five atraxa.... So technically you can do the same thing w Chandra and then she doubles all your removal ramp and life gain spells.... Interesting

Kinda funny how Urabrask went from being everyone's #1 praetor during spoilers, then they played with it and realized it's the worst. 😂 Not enough 1 mana cantrips or free spells in standard to make it strong. And in pioneer or modern 4 mana is too much, rather run Birgi.

Everyone is sleeping on one of my favorite cards from the set, Zimone and Dina. Built a deck with them, Faerie Mastermind, and Rona as the engines. Deck is pretty good at killing the opponent through their trigger. Splash in Ayara and Sheoldred for more ways to damage the opponent and it's a good solid deck. Can drop the decklist for anyone interested. Still tweaking the list, but won most games I played last night with it.
@brycedouglas620
@brycedouglas620 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewyoungquist9941 The difference is, Zimone and Dina kills your opponent for you drawing cards, which is something you want to do. Sheoldred is obviously powerful, which is why she's in the deck. Hell, I've killed someone by forcing them to draw with Mastermind with Sheoldred on board. The whole point of the deck is to draw cards and kill your opponent without needing to swing in and attack on the ground.

@brycedouglas620
@brycedouglas620 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewyoungquist9941 I was playing it last night and you'd be surprised how steadily draining your opponent for 2 and gaining 2 life every turn will get you there. My only losses were to blue white getting milled out and mono white and mono black who had approximately every removal spell in their deck. Other than that, it tested really well. Yes, Zimone and Dina is an engine, but the rest of the deck is constructed around just drawing a lot of cards and that's much harder to lose with than we think. I think Sheoldred has made everyone afraid of drawing cards and thus forgetting how powerful that is.
