@@ffdd6102 look, I am no expert, so my opinions are purely subjective. But... 1. verifying the level of threat via rudimentary review of the group (familial) interaction 2. verifying the quality of information through multilevel verification (both achievable via human and artificial verification systems - both available at the time of this event) 3. on-site: given events that transpired, even merely a better quality or organisation of surveillance - both via humans and animals (dogs). These things could have been managed far better. Governmental organisations rarely make such 'blunders'.

That is one of the many examples why you do not trust the government. I’m not saying to rally an anti government army but you should definitely not trust them and be aware of what they are capable of. The outcome of this story and multiple like it are a huge miscarriage of justice and it is sickening they just get a slap on the wrist (or a paid vacation) whenever these scenarios reach their conclusion.

In reading through these comments, I should have made Ruby Ridge a stand alone episode. I did my best to present the basics of the story as clearly and neutrally as I could, however, by making it a short episode I left out some smaller details that deserved to be included. Seriously... it hits hard, because I loved in Houston, Texas from 2006-2008, and sometime in 2007 I experienced 3 weeks of non stop rain there. It began flash flooding and FOR DAYS AND DAYS there was a foot or more of water on every road, the over pass bridges looked like Niagara falls and water was non stop dumping off the side, it was unreal. Me being 19 or 20 at the time, took way too many risks and was still driving every day for work and pleasure. I saw cars and everything loose on the ground, float away.. it was absolutely unreal. Years ago I visited Rainbow Campground in Michigan and talked with the owner, a very nice man who wanted to have some small gatherings with primitive camping and live music on his rural property. He said that the local police were upset because they thought he was encouraging drug use in the area. He told me to come back and see how family friendly the situation was. A few months later there was an article stating that the owner and his handyman were both shot and killed by police. They claimed that the handyman had a rifle but he actually had a garden tool. There was no big investigation.

My great uncle lived for a time in Fairbanks after he went to Alaska to work on the pipeline in the 80's. A gentleman approached him to see if he would go with him to provide security because he wanted to write a book about Portlock. My great uncle said sure thinking he would be on the lookout for bears. They hired a boat to take them in but dropped anchor a good distance away , untethered a small raft and said he wasnt going any farther in. My great uncle said the man seemed really nervous and barely went into the remains of the town. While they were there he heard loud screams and large rocks being thrown at them. He said the creepiest part was how everything went quiet in the forest. The man took a few photos and said " f" this shit c'mon I'm done. They loaded up and left. Many of the native Alaskans tribes wont talk about the town or the creatures that many believe are bigfoot or Yeti or a cross of the two.

@@sjm8650 water and floods are so deceptive and precarious. Flash floods are named for how quickly a dry area can become a raging river, in just a few minutes. When I was little there were 3 workers fixing a large drainage pipe near my home, the type of pipe you can walk in. A summer storm started w just a little lightening, while there was still sunshine. Then a cloudburst occurred as the workers were gathering their stuff, and all 3 we're knocked down and dragged buy a wall of water that started from an area of higher elevation where the water collected toward the pipe that they were on the other side of. All 3 died. It taught me to never wait to see how bad things might get during a regular rain, let alone a cloudburst.

In story number 2, surely the marshals that had the original run in with Randy, his son and his friend, when the dog’s ran into them, have to take a lot of responsibility for what happened afterwards. The way they described the situation to the FBI got the Feds fired up even more than normal. The order to shoot anyone with a weapon, or if they were suspected of holding a weapon, was due to what they were originally told. It made a potentially deadly situation even worse.

I like to imagine that the natives near Port Lock had this meeting, discussing how to get the Port Lock residents to get off their land and reclaim what was there’s, and one guy in the back raises his hand to say “We should just say it’s Bigfoot.” And that’s how it all started.

If you're in the middle of a flash flood and on a highway in a traffic jam, you can't do much even if you report it to emergency services, the likely hood they could've got there or would have made it a priority is unlikely considering the whole area was dealing with that weather.

Ja, bustedlegninja, still, to this day, especially in the small, Towns, and, Villages, found in the, West, of, Ireland, where, Gaelic, is still spoken (in addition to, English), the Ancient and much beloved tradition of, Oral History, and, storytelling, by the local, Seanchai [ 4 those who don't know, it's pronounced : "shaw-nak-ee" ], and, just for fun, I'll tell you that in that part of, Ireland, a Snail, is called a, "Shellha-kee-bhol-kee", my, Paternal, Grandfather, Thomas Francis Reney, was born in the loft of their family cottage, still located right along side/top of the, Quay, on, Galway Bay. His family had lived there and built, for over, 13, generations, the well known, double-ended (2 Prows, 1"fore" & 1 "aft"), fishing boats, which are called, "Galway Hookers". My, Grandfather, came to, Boston, Mass., in, 1900, he worked as a, Master Carpenter, until his death, in, June, 1955. Although, he didn't come over alone, as it turned out, his youngest brother, Martin [ "Matty", to his friends ], didn't like it here, so, he went back to, Ireland, where he "died of his wounds", in, 1916, having taken part in the famous, Easter Rebellion. So, yes, my Great-Uncle, was a member of the, I.R.A. My brother has seen a plaque over there, explaining all about, "Matty", now regarded as one of the heros of that, Rebellion, which happened because the, Irish, were seeking their, Independence from, England.

@Levi Chicwown the newest episode of Paranormal Caught on Camera’s 1st story is a rancher in Arizona who has 2 videos where you can hear “hey.” His family recommended he contact a Shaman (they are Native American) and the Shaman believes it is a skin walker. The rancher said he felt as it was trying to lure him off of the road into the bush. It sounds super creepy! In his 1st video, the 1st “hey” stops his working horse dead in his tracks. The 2nd “hey” causes the horse to turn and gallop away! The horse’s action was unprompted by the rancher, but he trusted the horse’s instincts and left. I suggest you check it out if you can; it may seem familiar to you with your experience. Best wishes!!.

Ruby Ridge actually took place right before the Waco standoff. Both incidents pointed to the government and authorities arguably being a little too heavy-handed with people. A few of the negotiators from the Ruby Ridge incident went down to Waco later where they would basically butt heads about the best way to control the situation. Unfortunately the ones pushing for force ultimately got their way in the end.
