There are about 13 cities in China that have entered this ranking. China has built too many tall buildings. Now the government strictly stipulates that under normal circumstances, tall buildings over 250 meters are not allowed to be built, and tall buildings over 500 meters are prohibited. This is a good decision.

Thanks for info. China before and now are very different. Lot of changes. What we know, one day, West country together with Arabic country will facing war toward China. China will lose. Then West country said that because of them, they win, then both of Arabic & West will fight to each other in war. But, Arabic win. We got the info since 1,400 ago.

Wow. I'm surprised that Manila, Philippines entered the Top 10. I know we have a lot of tall buildings here in Manila but the Philippines is situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire making it difficult and costly to build supertalls. Anyway, we are just getting started, we have a lot of ongoing projects that are above 250m, we might see 300-400m projects this year. Crossing fingers!

Not surprised with Philippines or Metro Manila in the Top 10. A USD400~500 billion dollar economy and 67~70% of that amount is in Metro Manila ONLY. This means Philippines companies in Metro Manila have money to build. Imagine that. Yes, other parts of the Philippines, especially the isolated islands, are backwards and poor but Manila is different. The top 5% rich (around 6 million or roughly the population of Singapore) lives in that City.

Anyone surprised that Manila is 10th in the world when it comes to having the tallest skyline has never actually been there. I've been there several times and it's literally looking more and more like the Asian equivalent of Manhattan. It's massive.

The author didn't show the number of 100-199 buildings, which is why many rankings look strange.

Considerably different. At present, There are more than 680 buildings over 100m, 44 of those are over 200m in Tokyo. BTW, There are more than 670 buildings of 50-99m. Currently supertall under construction in Tokyo: 325m & 390m (Total floor area: 544,000㎡. *The world's largest total floor area) - Office vacancy ratio in big cities in Japan: Almost always less than 5%. - Office vacancy ratio in capital city in Developing country More than 20%.

Yup, since there have been no supertalls nor megatalls due to earthquakes,Tokyo is by far the most underestimated mega city on earth. As for the number of the skyscrapers, Tokyo would be #3 after Hong Kong and New York
