The biggest thing that separates the bad, good, great, and elite players is puck protection. If you want to be better at 3s learn to possess the puck away from opponents hits and sticks.
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
You're 100 percent right with that! It takes the most time to perfect puck possession because it's not entirely clear as to what you should do with the puck. It's easier to defend because you read what the other team gives you and learn how to defend off that. But the choice of what to do with the puck and being creative is very tough because players typically rush a pass or lose the puck frequently due to lack of skill with the puck. I think the toughest thing to perfect is puck possession and the read option because they go hand in hand.

I have been playing NHL since 15 came out. The game has made painful progress, but progress nonetheless. I want them to expand the EASHL and make that the main attractant to the game. It can be similar to 2K and could see players begin to immerse themselves in the game more. Problem is EA is focused on the money grabbing Ultimate Team Mode. The physics to me in the new game do feel more natural than predecessors, the game moves quicker than true hockey but does maintain a feeling of authenticity (as much as that's possible in a video game). The random moments that you were mentioning in the end of the video makes me enjoy the game more, as I want to improve and be as good as possible to win games even when the NHL gods seems to be against me. Great video by the way

To me, it's the opposite reaction. Since this game dropped, it's gone backwards. Back in October, this game was great. But with each patch added, the game feels like it's moving back to nhl 21 little by little. Penalties are too easy to get. (Especially with the stick physics being so bad when your stick is tied up with someone guarantees a penalty when you press the button even tho there isn't an animation half the time). The aforementioned stick physics converting into bad puck pickups and unrealistic animations. All that combined with the bad bounces that look like "programmed" bounces. I can understand a bad bounce from time to time, but every game? It seems like too much to me. Especially when we look for consistency throughout our games to determine what we need to fix in our gameplay. It really puts a tamper on things. I play the game for the future. Not for the present moment. This game doesn't bring me much joy as it did before but I continue to play it to improve where I can. I know by now when the game screws me compared to when it's actually my fault and that's how I improve. Lots of people are waiting for this game to be good enough so they can return to the game. I think it's wasted time. Have an open mind, get the reps now when you can until ea can eventually fix their game and make it enjoyable. However long it takes. Then you will have loads of entertainment at your disposal and you won't be rusty. That's what I think. Sorry for the long response.

Only problem with playing drop ins is that sometimes you just get absolute sweats that aren’t just on there to improve or have a casual experience, they’re losing their mind every time you mess up, getting angry, chirping, just general toxicity etc. Nothing you can really do about it, just the way it is. It's not. AAha4dgame to learn. Most ppl panic, get tunnel vision, and force a pass or a bad shot when they have wide open teammates. And thebworst part is they're a P2 or P3, like how can you play THAT many games and not figure this shit out? So many puck chasers out there that can't understand the concept of defense. Slow down, let the play come to you stop being a panicked spaz.

These tips help for sure. Been practicing stick lifts more since I don’t see it too much when I play. Could you do more on puck possession possibly? Like your mindset when you have the puck, like how you create space for yourself and how to not get knocked off the puck and such? I feel I’m either spam poked or just hit off it pretty easily even with decent balance. Also do you saucer pass a lot?
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
I will do a video going more in depth about puck possession and how to control the puck, make guys miss, and also when to move the puck to your teammates to open up space. That will be after the teal defenseman guide. I do saucer pass it every now and then when I feel the need to. I use it sometimes when I make a pass off the boards to a teammate. Also in open ice when I see a teammate darting for a breakaway, or when I enter the zone and immediately sauce it to the side for a teammate. It has its moments when it's more useful then a regular pass but very difficult to get accurately. I sometimes try to get fancy with it (and usually fail miserably 😞) and try to saucer it across the middle of the ice which works sometimes but not ideal. It's definitely used a lot less this year especially when you see guys having send it or tape to tape on where the game auto sauces for them so it might be worth having those abilities on to see when the game does it for you before you try to manually do it. I'm glad you found the tips to be helpful! 👍

Thank you for making awesome videos. I'm on OG (old guy) who's been playing since like 2013 or 14 and I basically stopped playing this game because it was getting hard to get other old guys together to play even a few games of hockey. Recently though some of the old CHEL guys have been asking me to play 3s. Only problem is I've always hated 3s... But, not wanting to pass on an opportunity or let the boys down I came and found your videos, because, well, I sucked. I was trying to use and OFD build, and I just didn't really understand why I kept sucking so bad. After watching your videos, It was painfully obvious where I was going wrong. @HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 Жыл бұрын
@@badmuthaplucka I know that those players are the most frustrating players to work with. But that's what dropins are. RANDOMS! The only thing you can do is focus on what you can get better at. If you have a player that's cherry picks, then there's probably going to be a lot of odd man rushes you face. Focus more on defending those plays. As best you can of course. You can really only do so much. If you manage to get the puck, focus on making the stretch pass to your teammate who cherry picks for a breakaway. Even if he can't score due to lack of skill, as least you can say that you made that pass. Which will help when you are paired up with someone who CAN SCORE. It's all relative. If you can take something from every dropin game you play, you will improve rather quickly.

 @HackAttack34 I've found puck possession difficult in CHEL, I've been playing HUT and using vison control )L2 with X PS4) is very effective, but on Chel, I'm getting knocked down too much. Obviously, I've tried to use bigger players with balance, but then I'm losing the speed and agility to actually be elusive enough to protect. Can't seem to find a happy medium. Any thoughts/ Tips? Builds: Used Two Way forward, power forward, playmaker and Sniper, haven't tried Dangler yet. Note: Been playing HUT since Pre-order, only a few weeks into Chel this season.
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Using bigger builds is the way to go this year. I've got build videos for precise builds you could try. Using power forward 6'2" 210 lbs with unstoppable force or truculence as the zone, elite edges and magnetic works good. As well as sniper 6'1" 195 lbs with one tee as zone, close quarters and elite edges as superstar abilities. I think those classes are op builds and work well for me. In terms of gameplay, hut plays a lot different than chel. I feel that you can control the puck better in hut because the game is faster and the gamemode promotes it. In chel, the game is slower and revolves around your class to beat others. Controlling the puck is hard to learn but is not a solo effort nor should it be. Controlling the puck to buy time for your teammates to get open is critical for 3s and in 6s using your team to setting plays up. Human players are tougher to beat than ai but not impossible. It takes time to learn all the neat tricks to getting past players. Hope this helps.

@@robchristie4674 try this build. Something I haven't tried yet but was messing with. Power forward 6'2" 210 lbs lower your shot all the way for both. Up your speed to 85. Apply durable skating as boost, makes it 87. That's one point below my sniper build, and only 6 points away from as fast as you can be as a 5'7" build. Lower your balance and up your agility to 82. Apply unstoppable force as zone, elite edges and whatever you want as your 2nd ability. Whether it be magnetic, truculence, or one tee. I would say apply controlled passing as your other boost so you have high passing. Passing is tough in this game and you need it as high as you can. Everything else is up to you but this build has speed, quickness, size, and power all applied to make it pretty devastating.

"The way the puck bounces" that's hockey man it's all about weird bounces. I enjoy the change in game play physics makes it feel more realistic but yes sometimes frustrating
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
I should have been more elaborate. Puck bounces are natural. From the December 9th patch, The puck wasn't bouncing natural anymore. Like a shot taken from a player that deflects off the defenders leg that goes perfectly to the inside of the post and in. Like a slap shot taken from the point that deflects off the defenders skate perfectly to a teammate for a rebound. Or a cross crease pass that gets tipped but still in the direction of the pass and the teammate picks it up and shoots it off the defender, off the goalie, and bounces just below the crossbar and in. These are just examples but all of them plus the clips shown in the video all happened in ONE NIGHT. With a game that's this inconsistent, thus making the game that many have called "unplayable", is all due to "The way the puck bounces" and how stick in physics have changed and the way the goalies are programmed to make saves. A win was based more on luck of the bounce rather than a team's actual skill. There were games where we'd face a top 100 team and lose by one goal, and then face a division 5 team and lose by six because the division 5 team would simply throw the puck on net and get bounces, and the top 100 team would cycle for days and look for a cross crease. This gameplay goes against top level teams. The game is now in a better state. But at the recording of this video, it was just in a very poor state. Sorry for rambling on but I just wanted to describe some of the things that frustrated me throughout.

@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
The recent patch fixed most of the bugs throughout but the gameplay isn't the same since the launch of NHL 22. The goalies are still an issue and also the more frequent bounces due to stick physics makes this game very inconsistent than that of NHL 21. Cross creases don't go in as often especially when in good position to cover it but the frequent bounces off the stick or foot when interrupting the play goes against consistency as what's the point of tipping the pass to have it sometimes still go towards the intended receiver for him to pick it up and still shoot it? The game is allowing low skilled players to shine almost on the same level as higher skilled players due to just simply throwing the puck on net and having it slip through the goalie. Some of the things in the patch notes that ea said they fixed were not fixed. The list goes on and on but clearly ea needs to fix the hole they've dug themselves since launch.

Nhl 22 is very unfriendly to new players due to the lack of players on your console. There is no skill based match making. There is no cross play either. Due to this, the game pairs you up against anyone who queues up at the same time as you. The game also has a problem with matching experienced players with low level players. I myself (as a prestige 2 player) get matched up against low levels often and will have higher level players on my team which makes it highly unfair to the lower levels. This makes no sense to me. Why doesn't the game recognize this and mix the game up by having high and low level players against the same high and low level players? Makes the game more even that way. This doesn't happen all the time but tends to happen more times than it should. The only thing I can suggest is to hang in there and get the reps in. The game in the current state is one that is unliked by the majority (me included) and needs serious overhaul. Just focus on these tips and what you can learn from others and try your best not to get frustrated. You'll do fine. 👌

Hack what did ea say they fixed in the patch notes?
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
Look at the patch notes from November and December. There's a whole list of things they "fixed" but then you play a game and the majority of the gameplay looks the same or worse. Some of the key problems consist of stick in physics and how they tweaked goalies to save the puck better when set and not phase through the net. The hitting in the game is very inconsistent as well as sometimes you can nudge someone off the puck and then other times are unable to get any animation on the player. Puck pickups are atrocious as well. The problem lies in how inconsistent the game is.

What is the best lineup for 3 s
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
The "best" lineup will always be subjective to each team's play style and strategies. My opinion however, relies on the ability to fill the 3 roles told in the video: The Forechecker, The Versatile Player, and The Last Man Back. For the forechecker, you want this player's class to be mainly tailored towards high offense, low defense. This player looks for breakaways so speed is crucial. The sniper, playmaker, and dangler classes adjusted for speed and offense is what you want to run. For the versatile player, this player's class should be tailored towards moderate offense and defense. The ability to play both zones. Speed is also crucial here as you need to be able to switch between offense and defense quickly. Classes like playmaker, power forward, and even puck moving defenseman with high speed, agility, and defensive work great as this should be your most well rounded player. For the last man back, a solid defensive class like the puck moving defenseman or defensive defenseman with high defense, passing, and some balance for protecting the puck on those breakout passes is what you want.

Is it just me or does the EASHL goalie last name “Wagner” play wayyyyyy better than the other goalie. Really disappointing when you dominate teams and end up in a super tight game with an awful team because your CPU goalie is inept compared to the other.
@HackAttack34
@HackAttack34 2 жыл бұрын
It's usually the other way around for me. Lehman is the better goalie than Wagner. But it's true, lots of times my team and I dominate other teams, but the goalie plays like Andrei Vasilevskiy and stops everything. The reason is how EA programmed the goalies. They tend to stop high percentage shots like the cross crease, then fail to save a low percentage wrist shot from the point. The reason this is the case is because people complained about NHL 21 being a "cross crease simulator", so EA decides to program the goalies to save the cross crease more frequently. This caters to the lower skilled players which divides the community as higher skilled players remain unhappy about it.

That would require one to play 6s and establish an actual full team of 6s. I don't have either one 😂

I'm not being disrespectful just honest I think cross creasing this nhl is out of control for how easy it is and it promotes less skilled no strategic play just a guaranteed scoring opportunity that happens alot and it annoys me that people think it takes skill

It does take skill to consistently hit the cross crease. Simply throwing the puck across the ice isn't a guaranteed goal against teams that know how to defend it. The reason top teams win consistently is because of the different ways that they set up the one tee. For the heavy haters, it's usually due to the difficulty in defending it. Being able to set up a one tee is a "consistent" way of playing the game versus taking a shot for a rebound that is all dependent on "puck bounces" and "puck luck". I understand how annoying this style is but since the top teams are winning consistently with it, you have to adapt your game to consistently win as well.

@@HackAttack34 if you get a 2-0 then it's pretty much a guaranteed goal the hard part is getting to 2-0 but if it's 2-1 I just hit the person without the puck and it works then they have to deke and they fail at deking because they aren't very good. Sometimes I go for a hit and they don't even deke my character just goes right by them and completely misses them. So thats how I get cross creases scored on me usually

@@bonban6683 if you're going for hits on 2 on 1s then it wouldn't take much skill to score then. Easy read for any decent player with the puck because they wait for you to try and then they pass it across. Play goes from 2 on 1 to 1 on 0. I have a defense guide video on the channel which I recommend you watch if you haven't. It goes through many different scenarios and my mindsets on each play and all that when defending. Can't really say anything else because based on what you've saying, you and me have COMPLETELY different styles playing defense and therefore different opinions on things.

@@HackAttack34 I play against this club called the dirty danglers alot they're all max prestige and I always find myself in 2-1 situations with them and I just hit on the 2-1 and it works everytime because they try to pass when their guy is knocked over

@@bonban6683 Sounds like a team that struggles with the read option. A team that masters the read option play, they will read you going for the hit. Now hits are an all in play. You hit a player, you ONLY hit that player. And if you miss, the play is behind you. Doesn't matter which player you're trying to hit. The puck carrier or his teammate. A team that understands the read option will read you as you try and hit. You won't be able to hit both of them at the same time. If you try and hit the puck carrier, he will pass it across. End result is a breakaway or one tee. If you try and hit his teammate (which should be interference because he doesn't have the puck) then the puck carrier takes it himself. End result is a breakaway. Going for hits on 2 on 1s is the last thing you should go for. Especially against good teams.

3s lol you'd be better off just not playing nhl at all.

3s and 6s bank off each other somewhat. Some things you learn from 3s help in 6s and vice versa. 3s is easier to set up than 6s so a lot of guys just play 3s. Takes a greater commitment to play 6s with a group of consistent guys.
