Unless they fix the menus in NHL 25 I am going to skip. The menus have always been slow and unresponsive in prior games, but NHL 24 was a huge step backwards. The store in WoC being so laggy and unresponsive, the waiting for spinning circles entering WoC and returning to the HUB after games, and the massive time sink to go customize your skater for any reason. The matchmaking for 6v6 drop-ins was abysmal. The whole "finding teammates" "finding opponent" searching increased the process for finding and starting a game substantially. It isn't uncommon to spend 20-30 minutes to just get in a game where people don't just back out at the last minute. Players have always backed out of games, but before it would take less time to get to that point. Once you are matched with an opponent, there is no way to add a player so everyone just backs out when the teams are uneven and you have to restart the painful process of "finding teammates," "finding opponent," whoop <someone backed out>, "finding teammates," "finding opponent." Just go back to lobbies, let people join as they please, and let people switch positions in the lobby if they need to. Like nobody want's to play with an AI at center, so let a winger or defense switch to center if the center backs out. Put a cooldown timer for switching to prevent people from trolling. In addition to spending 20-30 minutes finding a game, you just get dropped into a match where the opposing team is a bunch of sweats that play club together, and you are stuck with a bunch of people who only know 10% of the controls let alone how to effectively play against a team composed entirely of platinum RP players or higher. So you just get smoked if you get put on a random team. I actually liked joining drop-ins as a club, but it's so bad for everyone else playing. I think they should prevent clubs from joining drop-in games. Maybe allow 2 friends to join a game together or something, but no 6-man EASHL teams matching up against teams of random players. It's not fair to the people who don't play in a club full of sweats who just want to play a casual game with other casual players. Keep clubs in EASHL games, and casual players in drop-ins. OR MAYBE, just match clubs that join drop-ins with other clubs that drop-in, but then you're just playing unranked EASHL games at that point and you should just play EASHL. I've heard the excuses for why they can't address the menus. The cool thing is, it's not my problem. I don't have worry about menus. They do. If they don't address it, I just won't buy it. That's how the market works. There are so many games available on the market that I could be playing besides this one. I don't need to settle for this garbage.

I like how they showed off that to get a cool looking stammer one tee you just need a 5v3 power play vs rookie AI. I watched pretty much all these reaction videos since I'm addicted to NHL content and non of them break down the actual 10 to 20 seconds of actual gameplay lol.

I think if they execute things properly it could be headed in the right direction Slowing the game down to feel more like 16 removing the speed boosts +2s and Elite edges to add more variety into builds will also be interesting anything else is honestly just a buzz word at this point and stuff that should already been in the game

There is not one thing that isn’t broken in this game. They can’t even get the load times on the menu right. A complete joke of a game.

They turned my stomach when they took back the loyalty rewards thu I’ll never turn hut on again. Chel is the only mode I want but fix the physics and the dumb ai. Or the option to create ai for games where your stuck with one

If they'll some day return back with the option to carry on and play and fight for the win with the bots alone if everyone else quits so I wouldn't register a loss because of them, I would consider returning to the game and buy a new console. A chance in chel to vote for kicking a troll away from the match would be awesome as well. At least once in a 6v6 game. A player searching for a match could then join up and fill the position, for example during the intermissions. This of course is not relevant for those who have a regular group to play with, but some of us don't, and we're constantly bound to play with randoms and as mr. Gump said, it's always like a box of chockolates what you gonna get. But if these here are the only new features they're adding, my streak of playing almost every version since nhl96 will now come to an end.

EA is EXCELLENT at advertising. They like to use the same buzzwords and come up with things like Ice-Q (thanks Johnson! Lol) you’re right, every year they say they’ve added hundreds of new animations. Like at some point they HAVE run out right? I bet you they added 25 and then were like “hey Johnson, crunch the numbers, make them exciting!” Then Johnson was like “let’s multiply by 10!” Lol. I do like the new edge work animations though. There is no XF edition this year so it’s likely the XF cards won’t be in hut which would mean no more traits in WOC? Or at the very least possibly removing some traits. Like you mentioned, I heard the rumor about one tee no longer being pre-loaded. They also talk about the one tees the same way you get the boost from the trait, which leads me to think they’ve gotten rid of traits (or at least the OP ones like EE, One Tee, Truc, etc.

I skipped 24 & since it doesn't appear any changes will happen to be a pro ill be most likely skipping 25...no reason to keep wasting money on this monopoly they've created. Even though I do think that they are SOMEWHAT trying I still can't justify the $60 If the product isn't gonna be a complete one not worth the money

Makes you wonder if these guys will be capable of playing 25 since EE is being removed, literally just the same builds just spinning in circles like twats.

I’m kinda excited for when/if they take out EE in 25. Hopefully wingers can’t do that “back and forth” behind the net for 5 minutes before their high level agility eventually takes over and they get a good scoring chance. I use a defensive defenseman mainly, and playing D definitely easier now that I’m allowed to use gold EE like everyone else (PMDs are too wimpy for me in front of net puck battles) . Was using silver EE before to sort of keep up with the shifty wingers, but getting rid of EE completely will help defensemen out a ton I feel. Plus as a dman you don’t have to waste a skill spot on EE.

I think the blue guy around the 11 min mark was looking for more points thinking the other team “stinks” when up 4-0…I’ve lost a lot of games with leads cause one or two players start playing all loosey-goosey when up to even 2-0 lol…love the vid! Definitely taking things in to try and improve my game!

Glad use guys get to play with a full team season 6 has been bad when you have to play with the ai I have never seen the Ai play so bad,in my life and the ice tilt has never been this bad but thats what I get when my buddie And me are stuck playing with this,Ai that are useless while the other team Ai play like there human controlled. My buddie and me dropped to division 3 because of this garbage and we were a division 1 club this game is a mess

Just trying chel for the first time... But can't even play with friends yet ....anytime I try to play a club game with a friend we always get errors about failing to get data or something??? Has anyone else experienced this?

i actually use skilled up. i don't really need it, but to actually do skill stick michis full time in coverage it helps. i got a lot of michigan goals, it's shameful.

Damn bro, got me over here watching a 45 min traits video 😂😂😂. FYI icepack is the shot blocking one (increases range, reduces injury) hence the shield icon. I’m biased on Heatseeker and it should be higher, since they boosted it and you can rip it from right over the circles. God I hope they remove EE next year. I like the idea of born leader (increased energy from hits and goals, which is solid for the pressure system) but it’s still lacking. It’d be nice if they could add to it to get people to use it more (or at all lol) like maybe a slight increase to stats (so if you score a goal, you get a boost to offensive stats for like 10 seconds or if you make a hit you defense stats go up for 10 seconds. Or maybe they can give it as an extra trait on the club captains and alternates, so for example you can have gold EE (or big tipper or close quarters or stick em up etc) AND Gold Born leader. The alternate captains would get that as a 3rd silver trait. That way the captains have more of a presence when they’re playing and or they’re not playing (or are in the box) then your team on the ice is at a disadvantage because you’re not getting stat and energy bonuses from hits and goals. Maybe they could get rid of icepack and add it to born leader to where when you block a shot, your team gets an energy boost.

I pretty much completely agree with your list. The only minor changes I would make is backhand beauty I would move to A, as some of the snipes I have seen with it are absurd, and Beast Mode to S as it is so solid picking up everything as a center in front of both nets.

Ice pack reduces the animation lag after you block a shot. Not useless, but shot blocks are not really reliable enough to make you ever want to equip it. I'd swap Beauty Backhand with Shock & Awe and drop Schnipe to C tier. Schnipe works on settled pucks, but One Tee also increases the ability to handle bad passes and gets you to a shot quicker, so Schnipe is completely outclassed in any situation other than the puck dribbling to you in front of the net, in which case deking is a better option half the time than auto-shooting, and Close quarters could also do the same thing. I would put Third Eye above Send It for sure. Third Eye activates on backhand passes in the zone, which are more deadly than breakout passes in high level play, plus shot passes can take on a lot of the role that Send It takes, and are often better. Everything else I agree with 100% here. You putting Seeing Eye in A tier makes me want to try it out, I haven't done much with it.

Why discriminating against Eliminator players?

Imo, ankle breaker is better than puck on a string; it applies to forehand backhand and almost every single deke.

For what it's worth, my notes from the first game basically agreed with your gradings on individual plays and heres what I saw otherwise. Noted red overpursue in the defensive zone a few times. Could easily be an outlier of a game. At some points i felt red was low for the breakout and wingers were too glued to their side rather than acknowledging red being low and taking center ice for the breakout passes. Noted a few times on the rush where a winger had no high quality passing options because center and winger were stacked at the same level (both near the goalie or both hovering in the slot) Ideally, center drives net pulling the defense, winger slips into the slot. Overall, good team play, looks structured. Offense all know how dangerous their close quarters is and good awareness of taking advantage of overly passive opposing d.

I dig the videos. For years i mostly played CHEL, now i only play that on the weekends with the boys when we are hammering beers. HUT eats up most of my week nights mostly out of the need to play. I heard you talking about chel leagues or whatever, i have discord but im a functioning idiot, much like the guys i play chel with, when it comes to social media. If you help point the way it would be appreciated.

Thank you for the great content! You're the only person i trust when it comes to NHL. If you're ever feeling like you want to do a make a wish for a 1st year Dman let me know lol! Like a 6v6 team of newer people trying to improve. If I'm being honest playing in elos is very toxic and it's tough to learn the game on your own, So these videos are great for people like me who want to learn the game at a fast pace but nowhere to go with our low skill set.

I wish theyd get rid of the perks. I dont need a 'one timer' perk to score a one timer. The game would be so much better without these perks
