I'll break it down for you: Honda - Reliable but outdated and not very fun Polaris - Fun as hell to ride and comfy but some issues, belt and axles Yamaha - Fun as well and extremely reliable but have honky 4wd switch and feel top heavy CanAm - For the rich guy who likes to show off. $$$ to fix Kawi - Great snort and power but also known to have issues (electrical) Pick which one you like and treat them good (they aren't boats). Maintenance is key.

I just got a 2023 Can-Am outlander 570 DPS and I am no where near rich. It don't matter which brand you choose they are all pieces of shit. It's like Which piece of shit do u want? Lol I at least want my piece of shit to be fun before it breaks down. Cuz no matter what u have it can be the most reliable thing in the world until... well untill it ain't. I knew a feller pull his old Honda out and talked it up said it was the most reliable thing he has ever owned he sat on it and went to start it and it wouldn't start. He kept turnin it over till the battery was dead. Never could start it lol. He was like well this is a first. I said it seems to be pretty dang reliable hahah. Now I realize it ran good for years and years but all I'm saying is eventually everything wears down. I see people using Can-Ams as boats and they tear them up and everyone is always talkin bout how they are always in mechanic shops. Well yeah these folks take these things and submerge them in water. I don't even want to go through an 1/8 inch Mudd puddle with mine. I have owned 2 yamahas and one was a bad piece of shit (engine locked up) and the other was a fine piece of shit. Got so tired of workin on the fine piece everytime i wanted to ride it I went and got a brand new Outlander 570 DPS.. most bad ass thing I've ever owned.

I worked in northern Canada for more than a decade in -50 temperatures or lower, in blizzards so intense your house would shutter, a place where travelling any more than a mile or two from home created potential life ending threats at any time (polar bears run like Usain Bolt when they smell a meal on wheels). The priority for any ATV rider in these conditions is "RELIABILITY"... which is why I chose the Yamaha 686 liquid cooled single piston engine, an absolutely bullet proof power source in any weather condition. Of course, most ATV owners aren't working/playing in those conditions so the contexts may be off.... but you only appreciate the genius of Japanese engineering when things go wrong.

Despite the smaller motor, the Honda Rubicon 520 is a much better utility machine in every way than the outdated Honda Rincon 680. The Rincon's only advantage is being faster. The Suzuki KingQuad also belongs on any utility Top 5 list. The Rubicon and KingQuad both have a tow rating of 1,322 pounds and have earned reputations for their dependability.

They all make good ATVs really. Just remember that the middle weight ones are best for most people Honda Rincon or Foreman , Polaris 450ho or 570, Yamaha Kodiak or Grizzly 700 and Suzuki king quad are all good choices. As for Can Am they are expensive to buy and to repair but they are freaking beasts with power and high quality parts like Fox suspension and damn near water and mud proof . If you want to ride hard core mud and trails and money is no object Can Am all the way. I myself went with the Polaris sportsman 570 and it's just right for me. One more thing the big boys like the 850s and 1000s are dangerously fast and heavy they also get terrible milage like 12 to 18 mpg and expensive parts. Just think like car parts the best selling ones are generally cheaper to maintain and easier to work on.
@Snarge22
@Snarge22 Жыл бұрын
I think the Can-Am 850 & 1000cc engines have speed governors limited to 73 mph. That to me is frightfully fast for vehicles, ATVs, really designed for quite slow travel over rough and difficult terrain. Now I have ordered a Can-Am Outlander Max (the tandem 2-seater) 850cc model. I bought the large engine as I wanted plenty of torque to ride the trails without having the engine constantly revving in the 6000 rpm range. It should be way more power than I'll ever need, and the long wheelbase should give quite a cush ride. It's supposed to be delivered very soon and I'm looking forward to taking it on the trails. I don't plan on riding it near the governed limit!

I have a 2020 Kong Quad 750 with PS. It has a little over a 100 miles on it. Mostly used for pig hunting in TX and a bit of trail riding. I had another 2020 KQ 750 that my buddy who was moving to Alaska bought. He has been VERY HAPPY with it. Honestly the only 3 ATVs I will entertain buying are Suzuki, Yamaha or Honda. I am a Yamaha Grizzly fan but back in early 2020 when I bought my 2 KQs there was $1800 difference between the KQ and Grizzly because of Suzuki offering a rebate. Now that there are ittle to know rebates the Yamaha and Suzuki may be a bit closer. I like a locking Diff with the push button. I don't need the machine to go into 4 wheel drive unless I want it to.

I bought a 2021 cfmoto 800 it’s an awesome ATV well put together. The fuel tanks are too small on those ATV. This thing holds 30 L of gas which is 7.9 US gals or 6.6 imperial gals. Looks like you also forgot Arctic Cat, CFMOTO and Hisun and Argo made in New Hamburg Ontario. You see there’s a lot more than five different makes of ATVs. I like Honda I have a Honda car and a Honda truck but their ATVs are pretty outdated and they don’t have a 2 up machine and there are a lot of cash for what you’re getting and I might add the other makes are the same. CFMOTO comes fully loaded with high/low beam headlights, daytime running lights, horn, 4 way flashers and mirrors, winch, trailer hitch, trailer harness for lights on your trailer. Also 4 wheel adjustable independent suspension with front diff lock and five year warranty or 5000 km(3000 miles)in Canada. To get all those features on the other ATV you’re probably need about another $6000.
@jasonmorehouse3756
@jasonmorehouse3756 11 ай бұрын
There's a reason CFMoto has a 5-year warranty, it's because you need it. The problematic, not very well built. Most of the features on them are knockoff copies of features from other bikes that look alike but do not perform alike. They're harder on fuel hence the reason for the larger fuel tank. They lack power, to the point that they're usually about two notches below the class that they're in such as your 800 would be closer to a 570. The 1000 is closer to a 700 etc

I got a Yamaha about 25 years ago. It was 350cc. I WAS about 170lbs back then and it had plenty power, handled well, very reliable and fast as can be n a forest service road. There was some factory to dealer incentive to sell me a Honda at that time and I felt that is why the salesman was pressing the Honda on me so I went with the Yamaha (contrarian) but really feel with the Japanese brands I would not have gone wrong either way. If money however was no issue today, it would be that Polaris…..very heavy grovelling over that bike. Now I weigh in at a svelt 218 lbs.

Suzuki king quad should be top 3. I've notice the Transmission shift feels the smoothest. Put over 10000 miles on mine and still running strong . Easy to work on and less expensive to maintain. I had a polaris that had cvt issues before kingquad and had the top end redone rite before 6k miles and I heard can amm are expensive to maintain and you have to take it apart to get to the filters. We'll I guess upside to can amm and polaris is probably the power .If you want durability in long run ull get the japanese quads and if you want a throwaway bike that's powerful and fun get north american bikes. I think this list is a little odd, but I suppose they are grabbing the best of the best regardless of displacement. I have owned Suzuki’s, Yamaha’s, Kawasaki’s, Arctic Cats, and Can Ams. I’ve ridden a handful of Hondas and Polaris’s since that’s what my brother in law and best friend has owned. I have no bias towards any of them because they have all been great quads. I have never experienced an issue with any of them. I will say this though. Without a doubt, the best quad I have ever owned has been the Can Am’s. The performance is unbelievable, but with that, I’ve paid a ridiculous amount of money for them…. Unless you’ve ridden all of them, you can’t really speak to which is better. Otherwise, it’s just a biased comment. I can say, I’ve ridden them all, and the Can Ams are nothing short of impressive, and are the superior machines. Now, I would own each one of those brands again and not think twice about it. The only one I’d avoid is the Polaris. Unfortunately, the ones I’ve been around have all had major issues. It’s a shame, because I really like Polaris. The Arctic Cat always fired up, but it is the least performance out of all the quads. I called my old 400 a mountain goat. I’ve taken that quad everywhere. Ha, not fast, but it never let me down either. I’d say the Kawasaki’s power is second only to the Can Am. I was impressed with that quad’s power. The only reason why I sold it was because I wanted a two-up, and that’s when I purchased the Can Am. I was so impressed with it that I turned around and bought another one. My Yamaha, I once rolled that down the side of a mountain in Idaho and landed in a bunch of brush, fortunately. While it was rolling, I’m watching the seat and tools go flying off my quad and heading in every direction possible. I made my way down to what I thought was going to be its final resting place. I just knew I was never going to get that quad off that mountain side. Anyway, I rolled it back on the tires, got the handle bars back in place, and jumped on it to start it up. After a few attempts, it fired right up, shortly followed by a crap load of smoke coming up from underneath the plastics. It scared the crap out of me because it was a hot summer day, and I worried I was going to start a forest fire. Ended up being oil burning of the engine case due to laying practically upside down. Long story short, I ended up working my way off that mountain and finally onto a dirt road. I rode that quad all the way back to my truck some 15 miles away. I was so damn impressed with that Yamaha. I swear, it’s like a cat, it has 9 lives. I’ll always give high praise to Yamaha!!! I’ve owned their sports quads as well, and those are kings of the dunes. That’s my experience and take. Quads only 1) Can Am 2) Yamaha 3) Honda 4) Kawasaki 5) Arctic Cat/Suzuki 6) Polaris (These should be much higher) this is just what I’ve experienced, so this may not be the norm. I am biased to American made products, so I’d rather see Polaris be on the top of this list over any of them. Again, this is my list due to my experience only. On a side note, my sister in law’s Polaris RZR has been terrific.

After riding my Dad's friend's old Yamaha, a 1992 350cc Big Bear, truly rough riding ranch workhorse, and comparing it to my Dad's CFMOTO CForce 600 Touring (tandem 2-seater), I decided to break out all the stops and ordered Can-Am Outlander Max (another tandem 2-seater). The longer wheelbase gives such a cush ride I couldn't resist going for the extra length. I ordered it in July and it's supposed to be here very soon now. I went over the top ordering the 850cc model. I don't really need all that much power but like the idea of light stressing the engine, i.e. puttering around on trails. I can't wait for it to show up!

Are you kidding me? This must be a joke against Honda because they say Rincon & keep showing different Honda models. Besides the Rincon is a outdated trail quad & should not even be on this list. If it’s true like ya say that the Rincon isn’t allowed to tow then it isn’t a true utility. I haven’t looked at a Rincon in along time to know for sure but I do know that the Rubicon in my opinion is the best utility because I have one with over 5000 miles & over 1.5 years of hours on it mostly plowing snow. I wanted it because I like automatic mode for climbing & ESP mode to shift going down hills, also for towing, I never wished I had more power or speed. I had ATV’s with belts & they kept having issues but they are funner on the trails for ripping it up but you got to be careful & there’s been so many ATV wrecks because speed was involved. I like my putt putt Honda to enjoy wildlife, help me with work & I know I’ll make it safely home. Yes you can get a more powerful machine cheaper than a Honda but if money isn’t an issue you can’t go wrong with one but it all depends on ones type of riding style & if your on a budget. These top 5 or 10 reviews are a joke & just someone’s own opinions. Please don’t go by what these reviews say & go by what real owners have to say. Go to ATV forums & do your own research instead of a dealer telling you. Most people will swear that Honda is the most reliable but if speed is your thing a Honda utility quad isn’t for you. A Hunter, Farmer, Rancher & occasionally trail rider would like a Honda. I never thought I wanted a Honda from having a Suzuki, Polaris & even a Yamaha. I ride with people that has these others brands & they are in the shop more than mine but mostly they bought them on a budget. Honda will always be for me the best Utility for work & some trials. I also like the fact I can sift gears or leave it in automatic. There’s no reverse override button or a switch for downhill engine breaking. It’s simple & has two handbrakes which I like. I’m getting old & don’t like to drive onto the trailer anymore. I stand off to the side & throttle it up & pull the hand brake. Some quads have a handbrake on just the left side. Years ago all quads had both handbrakes & some manuals had riders safety with a maneuver where you would use one of the handbrakes while your off to maneuver in a sticky situation. Which I have done & glad for both handbrakes. I think of safety in mind & won’t get a quad with just one handbrake. I even push my quad off the trailer & use one of the handbrakes. Most people don’t even realize how valuable both handbrakes are until there in a situation wishing they had both. While plowing snow I like the shifter on the left side with manual lift I created while one hand is always on the handlebar.

I have a 2016 Honda Four Trax 420 Rancher with a manual foot shift and shaft drive. No belts to slip or break. Mine is strictly used for utility work around my acreage. Plowing snow, hauling firewood, tool carrier, hunting etc. It's not used as a toy and is reliable day in and day out for the last 6 years with zero issues. I maintain it myself with regular oil changes, brake pads, grease and lubricate all bearings and runs like a champ. It also has two handbrakes with a right foot brake for the rear. Left handbrake is for the right rear drum brake unless in 4 wheel drive when it actuates both front and rear brakes. Right hand brake is for the front only disc brakes. I stayed away from automatic transmissions and the shaft drive always pulls hard.

Can am is a great bike, until it breaks down, (and it will) then you'll have to mortgage your home to fix it. Honda is the toughest bike on the planet. In the atv world, honda may not be first on race day, but it will still crank in 20 years. Polaris is a joke. They should sell them at walmart. If your not draining lilly pads and dumping the catfish out of your breather every ten minutes, your not 4 wheeling anyway. Kawi and suzuki are very hitters as well. Unless you own a bank, dump can am, stick with honda, kawi, or suzuki or yamaha. Especially yamaha, you won't go wrong

@@ibiyemifabanwo9201 they are made with cheap parts that don’t last and fail prematurely. Put simply, they are under-engineered for what they claim to be. In some respects they are good, amazing handling and awesome suspension , but they suffer from too many design flaws and shoddy quality, which ironically makes them affordable - but costly over the long term to operate. They sell well because they are priced competitively for what they offer - which is solid performance but that has a cost - visit any forum and you’ll read about it for yourself.

I don't know how Yamaha come to second the beast ATV. Last year 2021, I bought brand hew Yamaha Kodiak 450, which I really regret for this purchase. 1. Plastics made very thin and chip, with big gups on the joints. 2. Yamaha try to save even on chip plastic, and they left wheels sticking out of the atv body. Mud, dirt even dust splashing all over the rider. Now Yamaha want to sell you over fenders protection for extra fee. Ridiculous 3. Seat also is so soft and chip, when you transported atv on open trailer you must use bungie cord to secure the seat, if not will fly wye. Not secured at all. 4. Plastic skid plates under atv, total junk, made from paper thin plastic, give you zero protection on the machine. Again, for real atv protection Yamaha want to sell you aluminum skid plates for over $1000 5. Wait when come time for oil and filter change, you have to remove plastics for all side just to see the oil filter, and there is another struglation to remove and install new filter. That is wrong place for oil filter. If this things will not bothering you maybe Yamaha will be fine for you. But definitely not for me. I'm not trying to be to picky, but this a machine which will be use outdoors on all kind of terrains. I used to have 2009 Kawasaki Brute Force 750, which I really had no complain, except age. Plastics nice thick and strong , seat secured with a latch, wheels not sticking outside of the plastic body, give you real splash protection, even oil filter location absolutely amazing easy access, skid plates was aluminum, which give you much more protection. VERY DISAPOINTED FROM YAMAHA ATV.

I don’t understand this list, I love Can Am, I have an Outlander 850 XT. I believe Honda and Yamaha are the most reliable followed by Can Am. Polaris is very unreliable, I know so many people with Polaris issues and some very bad ones, 2 new engines in a side by side, bad. But, I don’t understand why they are all utility atvs and then you show a 2 Up for Can Am, not a very apples to apples comparison. Lastly, Honda vids were mostly the Rubicon, not the Rincon.
