I just do bodybuilding to train for BJJ. Might not help that much but when I step on the mat all the guys say "Damn, that guy is jacked" right before they bow and arrow choke me.

Hahaha I mean a well designed Bodybuilding program is far better than what lots of people do. You're going to get some increased forced production and improved muscular endurance with that.

This is awesome! I do S&C for a Rugby team in my town and see (and have made these) mistakes myself. Great content, YT algorithms, do your thang, this needs to be seen by every SnC Coach

I signed up yesterday and starting my program today. Though I have a background in S&C, it feels good to have everything laid out for me without any extra work on my part. I definitely see some holes in my previous program compared to the BJJ Ai (especially with some multi-planar work). Much appreciation to Chad and the JuggernautBJJ team!

I felt like this video read my mind. I competed for 10+ years in powerlifting and moved on more recently to BJJ (recent purple belt). This video is 100% accurate from what I’ve seen. One thing I see time after time from BJJ practitioners is using body part splits. Never liked that for non-physique sports and really don’t like it for a grappling sport.

This is good info. I'm not training bjj anymore, but I went from powerlifting right into bjj, and found it hard to figure out how to be good at either one while doing both.

Couldn't agree more, very well explained. Another potential one to add in, if you were allowed to go top 6, would be the "more is better" approach. BJJ athletes, along with most combat sports, struggle to know about quality rather than quantity and they definitely don't know how to organise their week for the best effect. I really enjoy these videos, thank you for sharing them.

Definitely a good point. I particularly find this with MMA fighters (or moreso their coaches).

Great timing on this one. I just started trying to focus my lifting to compliment bjj and yesterday was the one of the first days I hit weights and class in the same day, will definitely be recovering hard today before comp class tomorrow!

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:44 🏋️‍♂️ *Avoid excessive conditioning; focus on the weight room for force production and injury prevention. Conditioning can happen on the mats.* 01:53 🏋️‍♂️ *Understand specificity; mimic sporting movements with overload in the weight room. Don't solely rely on special tools like kettlebells.* 03:04 💪 *Be cautious about using strength sport programs for BJJ; prioritize getting stronger within the context of jiu-jitsu training.* 04:00 🔄 *Avoid too much novelty in exercises; stick to consistent routines for skill development and progress tracking.* 04:42 📅 *Plan strategically between BJJ and strength sessions; organize training to facilitate recovery, consolidating stressors on specific days.* Made with HARPA AI

Excellent video. I particularly liked the part about not trying to use Powerlifting, which is a great sport in it's own right, to prepare for BJJ. So as a BJJ athlete, one doesn't have to use the Big Three to get stronger. If Squatting, Benching and Deadlifting don't work for you, there are alternative exercises that can be used.

For sure. The only part of their training that has to happen is doing BJJ, everything else can be replaced/modified: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7l6f7Cjz6mllZs.html

No videos specifically about it but JuggernautBJJ App has neck training in it. We really like the Iron Neck but any kind of neck harness can be useful or neck flexion/extension with your head hanging off the end of a bench.

So you would not suggest using JuggernautAI to compliment bjj training even with the capability to manage your stress and activity levels thru the AI? Based on my experience I feel the most simple and efficient way to produce more force and stay healthy in the weight room in general is to train under basic powerlifting parameters, focusing on progressive overload for the big three SBD should suffice imo as long as you manage your workouts correctly and don’t over do it while focusing on ur bjj training and recovery as the priority and the point from which you base and plan your supplemental training on. I know dante leon is a big advocate of using conjugate for bjj training. Thoughts anyone?

I would suggest using JuggernautBJJ for BJJ S&C, not JuggernautAI. What you're describing can be very effective but isn't the problem I'm talking about in the video. What I'm referring to is people using XYZ Powerlifting Program (anything aimed at peaking athletes for Powerlifting competition) and using it verbatim to train for BJJ, failing to make the adjustments for fatigue management that you're referring to.

If you feel you're managing fatigue effectively with it, by all means continue with JuggernautAI, rather than JuggernautBJJ.
