Great vids, I’ve got a 2011 530d tourer with a standard remap taking it to 320 Bhp and 630 nm. Still get 40+ mpg on a run - high 40’s on longer runs - awesome car

I had two e60 550s sedans First was a 2007 sport pre LCI and second was a 2009 sport with the face lift. The pre face lift sport models did not come with an M5 front and rear bumpers and side skirts. I bought the 07 brand new and did 76k miles on it... I only had one issue and that was a check engine light came on for a faulty 02 sensor that was fixed under warranty but other then that it was an amazing car coming from an E39 540i it was night and day how both cars felt. You barely feel the power,it’s very smooth delivery but it was quick. I Remeber being shocked when an E46 M3 was barely pulling on me both from the dig and rolling starts. You don’t feel like it’s that quick and you don’t hear it to much either especially on the pre LCI models. The 2009 had a louder exhaust note if you get the sport package. Due note that my 2007 barely pulled on my friends 2008 535i with a tune so a 535i isn’t a bad option either. Also the 07 came stock 18 inch rims on shitty run flat tires,the ride was very rough with the sport package and the run flats but I do live in New York. I swapped out those shitty run flats and got 19 inch e63 M6 wheels wrapped in Michelin’s summer tires and the ride was so much smoother on the 19s with non run flats then it was on the stock 18s it had. The face lift sport package comes with 19s already... I got the car CPO’d with 22k miles on it and I did 30k problem free miles on it. I stopped buying old BMWs after going through hell with two E39 540s. They have to be either brand new or atleast have a bumper to bumper warranty preferably a CPO bmw straight from the dealer with a extended warranty.

Gotta say, if I'd gone for an estate, I'd have gone for the subaru, a Volvo, or a Vauxhall signum. But whenever I see the imprezza, I think of the subarute by mighty car mods lol. Awesome video as always!!

Nice video (again)! I owned a sub Impreza sports wagon gtt. So cheap and so much fun! Maybe a video with fast diesels under 5k or 10k? 🙂 I was never a fan of diesels but bought myself an A4 b7 avant 3.0tdi Quattro and just love it! 😁

My friends dad has an e61 550i touring, and I can tell you it’s bloody quick, and really comfortable as well. I’m not sure how reliable it has been for him, but I know that he absolutely loves it, so i assume it’s not been that bad. they’re also amazing sleepers as not even a proper car guy would be able to tell it’s a quick ass car.

Some other options that probably didn't deserve to make it onto this list (because good luck finding them, plus they're not quite as fast) ☺ Chrysler 300C, Lexus IS200, Mistubishi Galant, Skoda Superb V6, V70 T5 (& R). Great video as always, well researched especially on the maintenance stuff which seems to be largely under-reported on car channels that do these kinds of lists. Here's a challenge though: a video where none of the top 3 are German! Not that I don't like German cars, they just tend to top the paper stats which means they take up a lot of space on these lists. Not sure about the RS6 C5 but I know the C6 S6 could only match its performance figures if dropped off a cliff, not that anyone cares because V10s are the best engines even if they're slow.

My RS6 avant was truly the best car I’ve ever owned. I did Italy and most other Eu countries in the 4 years I owned it (from new) and agree that you would love it for your mega road trip. Tyres less than 10k miles a set, brakes pads not much longer! And fuel!! I so couldn’t ever afford one again. 19 mpg? More like 15... if you let your mum drive. Best dump run car ever too. May have visited AMD tuning too (cos 450 bhp is just never enough) Oh, and it ‘only’ depreciated by £35,000 in 4 years.

If your looking at Subarus for an estate go for the legacy gtb/b4 jdm.. 300hp.. Quite rare but no More so than an r36 and a better car than that... Also Where's the volvo? They invented this sector with the T5

What about the first gen wrx wagons? Like the mid to late 90s? Are they even called WRX? I think they were just named the Impreza wagon. I was playing with one on the highway the other day that was definitely not stock or maybe even motor swapped. It was the body before the round head lights/buggy eyes... definitely a 90s product. It was a sleeper too,it looked all stock except for the exhaust being aftermarket and that thing pulled hard man... I had a hard time getting away from him in a 2016 650i gran coupe so that tells you something. It was a fun 20 mile drive home with him and in the end I slowed to get off my exit and we both gave each other thumbs up.
