Are you a beginner day trader and making these COSTLY mistakes?
1. Not having a trading plan:
Many beginners jump into hot stock due to FOMO without knowing why they were buying, why the stock was running, nor their risk reward and exit plan. This is also known as chasing and will easily lead the trader to buying the VERY TOP.
2. Over Trading, which leads to Revenge Trading:
Instead of trading according to their plans and the chart in front of them, many traders are trading their PnL (profit and loss). This will lead to over trading, then emotional trading, and finally revenge trading. I have blown up my trading account this way before due to emotional trading.
3. Not Paper Trading:
Paper trading is basically risk free market screen time. Day trading beginners need to learn broker interface, how each stock reacts, and practice your technical analysis on LIVE charts. Paper trading will allow you to gain market screen time and prepare your mind emotionally for the ups and downs of stock trading.
4. Scaling up share size too quickly:
When I started making $100 a day, I was so excited. So much so I wanted to jump into making $1000. I quickly learned that sizing up x10 means escalating the emotions as well. Psychologically, I was not ready for x10 the stress. It's very important to take your time when sizing up.
5. Following chat room alerts!
You want to become a profitable day trader? Stop following others.
This is perhaps the DEADLIEST trading mistake I see beginners do. Many of these trading chat rooms pump the stock up and dump the shares on unsuspecting beginner traders.

Most beginner traders don't realize just how challenging trading for a living is. It's the most challenging, introspective but rewarding business you will ever undertake. It reveals your weaknesses that you never knew you had, but makes you a stronger person on the other side. Great humor added to such a dry subject for most. Great job!

I think that most people know the stats. Twenty percent of traders can make a living, the rest starve. Is that right? I got lucky on a long-term gain, but am looking at trading now. The amount and variety of information I've learned about the world and economics more than makes us for any losses. Will be practicing with paper money today though (for the first time).

Biggest trading mistakes I have made 1. Having multiple big screens and spreading charts like worms in a can 2. Unhealthy eating and neglecting the tremendous effects of nutrition on focus 3. Counting Lamborghinis before they hatch 4. Scouring KZfaq for stories of glories from daytraders 5. Daydreaming

So far my biggest mistakes have been on paper. Example. Setting up a take profit which didn't consider what percent of the stock I was really looking at. Can't tell you how many times that made me miss bigger ups. Researching a company carefully and literally buying a similar sounding company - that mistake is done...but it is a much healthier company than the one I intended to research so I might as well hold and see what happens. You're no. 3...I've never considered Lamborginis before they hatch. My mind doesn't operate on greed. Maybe that'll keep me less emotional about money? Just like how on my channel I have taught how to maker better horsepower when I really care about gas mileage, I too am enjoying the game of it, more than actually caring about getting money. This might be a very good personality trait. You're no. 4 was very much worth clicking read more on! I wasn't looking for this video, in fact, I really want to trade for long term, but I'm learning some short-term trading lessons on the way just because...no matter my personality. . . . some more instant gratification...yeah, I'm not invulnerable. 5. Daydreaming...what kind of daydreaming is bad??

I lost 70k since I've graduated from high school in the stock market from no technical skills. Took me 7 years. About to turn 26 soon and this person speaks the truth. I started off this coronavirus layoff pandemic daytrading. First week I woke up at 7am and daytraded all day... Would make some and lose some... but then after that first week I realized that first 1 hour and last 1 hour is all I needed to play. Day trading is awful... but constantly making 1k-5k a day is very very rewarding as long as you record everything and don't compare yourself to other traders or investors that are much much more wealthier and better at trading than you.

I like her energy and humor. If I may add, money management is also quite important in this business. If you just started, use only 5 to 10% of your account so you don't blow it in just one or two trades. Set aside the gains on a separate account so you don't feel euphoric and overconfident- a recipe for disaster in these volatile times.

Glad this came across my feed... #4 is the mistake I've been making and it is most definitely an anxiety inducer and account killer. Causes you to pull out of winning trades when they pull back before making their next leg higher. And they always seem to pull back right when you buy in, so you dump out, take a loss, only to watch it make the move you were going for 15sec later.... So it turns into "death by a thousand paper cuts", kind of trading because you repeat it trying to "catch the next one." SMALL size leads to big wins. Much easier psychologically, to weather the pull backs as a stock makes its moves.

That's usually how a trading account starts. I started with $6k in 2018. Over 2 years lost $2k, then since last April worked my way up to $10k actually becoming profitable. It was a pain in the ass though. In the end it was small position sizing, multiple positions, and option spread selling mixed with etf holding and stock swing trading.

This video came at a perfect time I was considering giving up on day trading as I have not been making profits consistently and questioned whether or not it was worth my time trading at market open every morning. Having you point out all these mistakes traders make allowed me to realize how many other traders are going through the same situations and how I can overcome them. Tomorrow is a new day so I will focus on avoiding previous mistakes and make smarter trades. Thank you!

really hard to day trade, you can be consistent and banking 1 month, you get lucky second month... then boom! 3rd month all those gains are down the drain just from 1-2 days of trading. Worst part is yea you lose the money... you can think of getting it back/ but the time and effort that was put in those months is wasted just like that in a snap... which i think is the worst part aswell.

Those are good tips, beautiful. Some of the same mistakes I made 10 yrs back, I even quit trading. But learned lessons afterwards . Looking back, it's experience that counts. But starting again and gaining self confidence and lessons learnt, made it a dream come true. Failures are lessons , the more failures the better prepared and self confident.. Just note, done get bankrupt. 😁
