I know you prefer the arcade style sports games, but honestly the 2K franchise (NCAA, NFL, MLB, NBA, Tennis) is my go to for Dreamcast. I see you had 2K Tennis on this video. These were ahead of their time and lead EA to produce better games (EA BIG, and all other EA sporting franchises) because of the new competition from 2K. I loathe EA today because of their monopoly with specific sport categories for the genre with minimal yearly updates other than roster updates. Super buggy as we all have seen/heard about Madden 24. EA doesn’t care except for that profit and we have no other developers to buy sporting games from for the same leagues. NBA is the only league that is not by EA, and sadly 2K has followed suit.

I absolutely loved my Dreamcast and bought it when I was a teenager on the infamous (imho) 9/9/99! It blew me away as it offered near arcade-perfect ports. I have to concede that my favorite game on the system was Soul Calibur, despite there being a slew of absolute bangers during the console’s tragically short lifespan.

Nba 2k has a special place for me being an AI fan and it being the first game I ever played online. Also spent numerous hours on crazy taxi.

I only played Dreamcast when it came out in 1999-2000 and the only game I played was an NFL Blitz game multiplayer. Dreamcast games had that bright look to them with a nice sharp resolution and silky smooth frame rates. Dreamcast games were what we all hoped N64 and PS games would look like and it was really impressive back in the day. I can see why it holds a special spot in many retro gamers' hearts.

Like Wes, the Dreamcast was the first console I bought with my own money. I remember it was early 2001, so it was already discontinued and on sale at stores. I got it for $80, and some of the major titles. Great memories! I didn't have any coop games, but to this day, that console holds a special place in my heart 😢

Tennis 2K2 is such an amazing game. My parents love tennis so that game has some special memories for me of playing this game with them and other family members. Tennis 2K2 was the only game I've ever witnessed my parents play and they seemed to genuinely like it too!

Zombie Revenge is a personal favorite of mine. Picked that one up at Southside Toys R Us back in the day and played the holy hell out of it with my brother. Such a fun game that doesn't get talked about enough.

Awesome list boys! Like you guys, I knew Virtua Tennis was awesome but I never knew Tennis 2k2 was the actual sequel. About a year ago at a retro game store while browsing the DC section, Tennis 2k2 caught my eye because it was factory sealed. Once I googled it and realized it was the official sequel to Virtua Tennis, I bought it (it was only like 15 bucks!). And it's an amazing game - it really deserves the number 1 spot!

I literally ordered a sega dreamcast just to relive the classic memories of 1999 - 2001, absolutely love the arcade style this console put out, i was a fool to sell it to my brother a few years back 😂 When I wanted to buy it back he said no, I'll hang on to it, wished I had thought it thru before selling it, it has its replay value for sure!!!! 😅🎮💯💚 this will surely be added to my collection of course!!!!

Dreamcast does rule for multi-player and co-op. These are all great games. The co-op game I put the most time into oddly enough wasn't even my favorite, but was probably Armada. That game was so close to being amazing, and was still a great time for up to 4 players co-op. The drop in/out multi-player with the ability to save your ship on a VMU and join anyone's game with your upgrades was pretty unique at the time. It was like an Asteroids RPG for gameplay. If only they had a little variety like the ability to go onto space stations and planets on foot and explore/fight, it'd probably be an all-time classic.

Great video! Fun fact: I did not know Virtua Cop 2 supported light gun play so I never sought out this game as I have 10 of the games of the 12 including VC2 on Saturn. I went to my local Gaming Generations store the next day after watching this and they just got in a minty copy the day before. Awesome how the gaming gods have granted me another pew pew on the good ol Dreamcast!

I got the Dreamcast the day it launch and absolutely loved it. My friends and I played NFL Blitz 2000 and Soul Calibur. Many sleepless nights. Great video fellas.

Great to see Arcade Ports start off this list and Sega Sports complete it. Very accurate to the strength of the system. Most channels lists are very inaccurate, but this is very strong.

Dynamite cop is lovely co op experience. 🐙 Canon Spike is so much fun its. One of the few games I can never see me selling.Never beat Giga wing 2 with four peeps but it might Be fun 😂Hydro thunder is so nostalgic playing it in arcades in the 90's

Gauntlet is great! I haven't played the Dreamcast version much though. I know it's the best version but I spent my time with the game in the arcade and on N64. By the time I got the DC I had played it so much on N64 I didn't want to buy it again. Cheers!

I don't have a zapper thing for Saturn or Virtua Cop, but I do have Sega Smash Pack and a zapper thing for Dreamcast! Dreamcast and Saturn are both pretty expensive to collect for so, my Saturn collection is the one I've focused more on since I started collecting for both in 2018. No joke. Thousands of dollars. I would not recommend starting a collection of these 2 consoles today. They're but good, but... some good games just cost hundreds of dollars...

Great list boys! I agree with everything you got up there. My favorite Coop Game for the Dreamcast is “The Ghost Blade”. Awesome and colorful 2 play Shmup that can be played in Tate mode. Really fantastic game! Love yalls list though also!

Still need to get Gigawing (expensive), Hydro Thunder, and Cannon Spike so I can't judge those. Did love the version of Hydro Thunder on Xbox 360 though.

I played mostly single player survival horror on Dreamcast since I got it at the time Japan received it a year before North America, and all my friends were still playing N64

Just fyi though the screen zooms way out the farther you get from the rest of your party an sometimes you can get trapped or just lost because no can see.

Pretty good list, lost me at Tennis 2k2 though. The only physical copies I have out of these are HotD2 & SSPv1. I actually found Smash Pack, Virtua Tennis, ChuChu Rocket, and one more at a junkyard inside a car a few years ago. The dude let me have them for free. I know you guys hate RPGs, but I'd put PSO on the couch coop list... as long as my memory is correct. I spent a lot of time on the GC version with couch coop, but I'm pretty sure you could do that with the DC version too. Cannon Spike is seriously one of the best games on the system, wondering why you didn't put the stat screen up with the price for that game when you did the game before & after... Zombie Revenge & Dynamite Cop are sick too.

Tennis 2k2 might not be for everyone but 2 player is insane fun. We don't hate RPG's btw. It's just not a genre we're currently into. Phantasy Star Online is great. I personally loved RPG's through the PS1 era. Time became the issue for me as I got older and then throwing an eBay store and You Tube channel in the mix. I often joke that I'm saving RPG's for my retirement years :). Thanks for watching and cheers to the good ol' Dreamcast!

@@GamingOffTheGrid It was in good fun, I've heard you say that before. That's a pretty fair position to be honest. I'm your age so I get it, but I still found myself spending hundreds of hours on certain games like Witcher 3, Red Dead 2, FF7 remake, FF15, Cyberpunk, etc. over the recent years. I have big nostalgia for my ps1 era rpg collection, but I doubt I'm gonna revisit it anytime soon. I'm also fairly certain DC PSO did have couch coop now that I thought more about it. I had 3 irl friends that played, and I know we didn't always play online together. Funny tangent, back then my family still had dial up and my dad wouldn't let me have the login info. I found this list of local free dialup ISPs that I printed out so that I could take my own PC and my DC online at night without anyone knowing. That shit was like 8-10 pages worth, I'd just cross one off when it stopped working and move on to the next. Thankfully we got broadband in 03 so that didn't last too long.
