I notice you kept it informative and clean, Martyn. No reference to naughty phrases like... "there's no such thing as a self charging hybrid." Surely one of the best things that ought to be on a t-shirt, in the EV world.

Nice work Martyn. I often forget not everyone lives in the same EV world that we do. This was apparent when I was watching a recent video that claimed the new Toyota bZ4X is "a revolutionary new EV". Of course I laughed, but so many people will believe this based on the brand power of Toyota. I hope those people find you and the insideevs team to get the real facts.

Good video. You could also have explained the difference between AC and DC charging. This causes lots of confusion. If you check the comments on Zap Map, 22kW AC charge points are always being marked as faulty because they 'only charge at 7kW/11kW'. Many EV owners don't realise that their EV might be able to charge at 100kW on a DC Rapid but is limited to much slower charge rates on AC.

Very true Malcolm! But we went over time already so had to leave so much stuff out unfortunately! But we do have other videos that go into detail on charging speeds, AC vs DC, etc. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for clarifying the difference between kW and kWh! As someone relatively new to the world of EVs, I've definitely gotten the two terms mixed up before 😅

Good subject, could have added some sub Buzzwords in charging. Coldgate - slow cold weather charging. Rapidgate - slow Rapid charging when some (Nissan) cars did not cool their batteries after a couple of charges.
