I'm starting Invisalign on December 21st, so I've been watching all the videos I can find these last 2 months, to get opinions and tips. Honestly so glad I found your channel, and don't mind at all that you included your app in the list. I already know it will be so helpful. I'm very much into lists, charts, and alarms...anything to stay focused & on track...so having a dedicated app for my Invisalign treatment is exactly what I needed. No need to waste space creating alarms & alerts on my clock or calendar apps. Already put TrayMinder on my phone and have it ready to go! Thanks Doc!

What you said at 12:44 sounds like it could apply to my situation. My upper right lateral incisor does not appear to be tracking (extrusion). The floss seems to "catch" somewhat between it and the adjacent canine, more so than most other teeth. I mentioned the lack of tracking during my last appointment and my dentist said he was not concerned about it.

Dr Bailey, I find your videos tremendously helpful and valuable. Quick question: is it safe to keep aligners on for ~16-18 hours at a time? Or do I need to take them off every 8 hours or so to clean teeth and aligners?

Thank you Dr. for the information! I just started Invisalign and the company stated on my take home kit that I shouldn’t use denture cleaner for Invisalign aligners. However, off of your recommendation and other orthos, I ordered retainer brite to clean my Invisalign aligners. Is retainer brite safe to use and why does Invisalign recommend against it? There is so much mixed information on the internet.
@TrayMinder

Glad it was helpful. I'm not sure why Align Tech (maker of Invisalign) said to not use anything else besides their own crystal cleaners. Maybe it's because they haven't tested any other brands or maybe they want to increase their revenue by selling their own cleaning crystals. For aligners that you only use for 1-2 weeks, I'm not sure if it's worth it to spend the extra money on the Invisalign brand of cleaners. Here's a published article for you to decide for yourself what best to do: head-face-med.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13005-020-00218-2

@@TrayMinder What a helpful article!! Thank you!! It’s nice to know that if I were to drink black tea here and there with my aligners in that Retainer Brite will clean that away (but I’ll definitely avoid coffee or red wine!).

when i did my impressions for byte i noticed that my back molar on my right side wasnt in the "your future smile graphic" i asked why and they said that"Since clear aligners do not move molars, it shouldn't affect your treatment". i got my aligners 2 days ago and wondering if this is fine.
@TrayMinder
@TrayMinder 3 жыл бұрын
Every case is different. Ideally molars are covered (sometimes just the mesial portion if unable to capture the distal) regardless of whether they’re being moved or not.

I'm in such a bad place with my Invisalign plan right now. My ortho did not do the IPR that was recommended at tray 3 for my lower incisor crowding. So I kept moving to the next tray and sure enough it stopped tracking in that spot because it assumed the sides of my teeth were touching and coming together but they are still overlapping because they're shaped like triangles. My ortho is so hard to speak to and keeps saying I need to wear my tray another week or use a chewie more, but I know that's not the issue here. He says he wants to hold off IPR until the end but my plan called for it early on. He was going to have me finish my trays and come back in July but there's no way these will fit. I called and got a rescan but have to wait 3 weeks or more (already been in this ill-fitting aligner for a month), and it hurts my lower incisors to wear. I was so compliant with everything and this is just a huge and painful setback. Hopefully with this new scan, if he doesn't want to do IPR, I hope he selected that option.

It it normal that 4 days before a tray change for teeth that weren't achy now become achy? I change my tray the day after Thanksgiving and suddenly I have a dull ache in a tooth that barely ached. I use my chewie so my trays fit pefect. So is it normal for different teeth to ache 10/11 days into the same tray?
@TrayMinder
@TrayMinder 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not common but could happen if some teeth move into position, which seats the aligner better and thereby puts more pressure on other teeth.

Hi! Thank you for the video. Subscribed and also downloaded your app. I have a little bit of a weird situation and I'd love to know if you have any solutions. Currently on day 4 of my first ever trays. I've been having a really really really tough time since my situation is crowding and I have the buttons/attachments (20 total). Taking the trays off has been an absolute nightmare. It's getting a little better but the problem is with my bottom tray. I have an ortho ring and that's what I use to help get them out but my bottom front teeth are the most crowded and so when I'm in the process of taking the tray off.. one side of my lip gets caught in the tray when I'm trying to lift the other side up. It keeps catching the same spot and now I'm bleeding. I've tried to use toilet paper and various items like that to protect my lip in the process but nothing is really working. I'm sure I'm not the first person who has encountered this but couldn't find anything on google. Do you happen to have any solutions? I'm ready to give up and ask for my money back. Also, I have a dull headache when my trays are in. Is this normal? TIA!
@TrayMinder
@TrayMinder 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that - sounds like a challenge. You can try tucking a cotton roll between your lip and teeth while taking the other side out. Check in with your treating doctor and he/she can help guide you through it. Remember that new things always feel uncomfortable to our bodies but new things is a sign of change. Change often leads to good things. Don’t give up yet. Good luck with your treatment.

@@TrayMinder thank you! I’ve been using a cotton ball and that’s been working but today I’m going to buy the rolls. Since making my previous comment, I have gotten better at it!
